I'm too busy listening to Ms.Fraser's awesome voice, but I see what you mean about the Peter Hook-sounding bass. As much as their version of Song To the Siren makes me all misty and out-with-the tissues, hearing this song never fails to give me a case of the warm fuzzies.

Elizabeth is one of the greats, and the music of Simon Raymonde (now runs Bella Union label) and Robin Guthrie (just finished a solo tour of usa with Dead Can Dance's Brendan Perry) is the blueprint for so many of today's new bands. Shame they never received the recognition they deserve.

@snapperjohn1000 - if you go to a search engine and type in ' Lyrics for Cocteau Twins songs ' you'll be surprised what you find. I started listening to them in the early 1980's and was more interested in the melodies than the lyrics which you can only barely understand, the lyrics are more like poems, not always logical but hint at ideas etc...
