  • its not healthy anymore after you add butter, cream and sugar to it

  • How does the squash come out differently if you just keep it whole when you bake it vs. cutting it in half? Thank You.

  • I didn't realize that I had already commented on this video. This comment is very similar to the first one so I must have really enjoyed watching it since I commented twice...LOL. At least this time, I realized that after you pulled the strands away from the skin, you kept the spaghetti squash in the skin and just added your toppings. No need to transfer to a serving bowl since you're the only one eating it!

  • Great job Rae! You were very detailed in your video! I have already bought 2 spaghetti squash, and this is my first time attempting to prepare it. I have seen a few other videos then found yours. I'm glad I saw your video. You took the time to prepare yours just as you planned to eat it by ladling on the sauce and parmesan cheese. Thanks a bunch!

  • I bought 2 spaghetti squash last week, and went looking for receipe suggestions. So glad I found yours! Thanks for giving detailed instructions as well as other tips! I'm going to try cooking mine in a teflon pan on the stovetop covered with an inch of water. I don't want to heat my oven when this way is so much easier. I plan to season mine with a little extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and basil tomato sauce.

  • I buy smaller ones and put them in my steamer...it is way faster!! I friggin LOVE spaghetti squash!! :)

  • First time making this - can't wait to see how it turns out!

  • you can also just wrap them in foil and bake them, and then the goodness doesn't leak out into the water!

  • I made this with bolognese sauce and it was great!

  • Monsanto says your not aloud to do this

  • I just came across your channel! This looks delicious! I can't wait to try this out. I hope my son loves it, he's a picky eater and is on a gluten free, milk free diet.

I subscribed. :) I'm starting a cooking channel of my own (mostly gluten free), feel free to check it out/sub if you like.

  • thanks for making this video. Thanks to you I'm about to go get my grilled chicken/spaghetti squash/diet friendly vodka sauce on!!!!

  • Thanks sweetie, got one the other day. Gonna cook it tonight. Bought some seeds to try and grow 'em too. Man it sounds as good as it looks!

  • man youre boring...lol

  • I sauteed garlic, added the spaghetti squash noodles, a bit of butter, pesto, mozarella cheese or parmesan (forgot-this was last week)...it was yummy!! I had never eaten this before. Thanks to your video, I've made this discovery...my tummy thanks you!

  • Looks great!!

  • Also you can make acorn or butternut squash fries in the oven.Peel and cut into 1/2" fries or wedges.Toss in 1 tbsp. of olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt, pepper, dried rosemary, dried sage and garlic powder. Put onto non stick baking sheet and cook in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes or until the outside becomes a little carmelized. Note: turn them once! So yummy! I use the leftovers on top of 2 cups arugala salad with sliced shallots and sherry vinegarette dressing.Low calorie and filling, too!

  • Just wanted to add a little cooking tip. If you microwave the whole squash for 2 minutes in the microwave it will soften the skin and make it easier to cut in half. It doesn't cook the inside just softens the skin.

  • Spaghetti squash actually DOES taste and look like really skinny spaghetti (spaghettini?).

  • @TomsMVP Oh my god! Really? Grow up

  • Thank you for the instructions! It looks delicious.

  • thanks (:

Is it called spaghetti squash in the store?

  • thanks so much, i've been wanting to try this but didn't have a clue how to prepare it!

  • Mine was really hard to cut...but lets hope its delicious(still in oven)...

  • Awesome video! I'm making Spaghetti Squash pasta this week :)

  • Thanks for the instructions. This was delicious. I put the whole thing in a 375° oven for 1 hour then cut it in half and scraped it. I put olive oil, parmesean and romano cheese, and crushed red pepper, it was one of the best things i've had in a long time and so simple to make. Yummm!!!

  • @tylertyler82 I'm glad you liked it. I need to make it again soon, it's been forever! I'll have to try it your way too!

  • Wow I am so glad I found I am subscribing for sure. Your recipes look easy and delicious =) Please keep making more vids.

  • I forget how I made Spa-get Squash, but the Acorn Squash came out okay with the cinnamon and butter,, With Squash it matters which type of butter you use like salted and fresh .. I think I might try the spinach and cheese with a bread crumb topping and maybe some sausage..

  • im making mine in the microwave right now :)

olive oil, sun dried tomatoes and shredded parmesan cheese are my favorite toppers!

  • Awesome idea girl i love it!

  • Can you eat the skin??

  • if it taste good, yes

  • My spaghetti squash turned out mushy today. I cooked some yesterday, and it was noodle like and a little crunch and delicious. Today, the mush is disappointing. Anyone know what I did wrong?

  • The only thing I hate about spaghetti squash is cutting them in half. It's worth the work though :)

  • i ate this last summer like this and it is so good i am making one today try splenda brown sugar si then is is sugar free and its so good to

  • Nice video, now time to go cook, thanks for the help

  • I love spaghetti squash! You can cook it even faster in the microwave if you don't want to wait for it to bake in the oven.

  • @johnt1023 ... your recipe sounds delish!! -- Squash is so good by itself... I prefer it plain or just a few simple items that won't overwhelm it... like yours. :)

    oh, and no disrespect intended...

I just wanted you to know for future reference:

"infamous" refers to something that is "famous for being the worst kind" obviously that's not what you think spaghetti squash is lol xD

  • Spaghetti squash is awesome. It tastes great, is good for you, and really fills you up. Ive never thought about putting pasta sauce on it though. That is a really good idea

    xxxJoolsxxx

  • Oohhhhw, I wanted to see you cutting it. It's the fun part of it. LOL :)

I always make spaghetti squash but I don't use as spaghetti. I use with olives salt, olie oil and sundried tomatos. It's really good :D Serve with steamed veggies and fish.

    Great video!

    Cheers,

    Mari

  • IM salavating!!

  • Thanks for the demo Rae. I have seen many, many recipes for this, but it's great to actually see it made =)

Keep up the great videos girly!

  • thank you for this video! i have been so curious about spaghetti squash. can't wait to try it!

  • That looks great!

  • One other way to cook spaghetti squash is cook it whole. I don't have the strength to cut a raw one. I just put the whole thing in the oven, at 350 degrees for about an hour (depending on the size of the squash). Much easier to cut that way and you scoop out the seeds the same way. I usually let it cool a bit before I cut it.
