To make this real is a no brainer and whoever is sitting on this goldmine of an IP either hates it or is riding with blinders on. I say start with a feature film that is the setup for a TV Series and ride for as many seasons as possible.
Grace Jones as Diana the Acrobat? I nearly hiccupped from laughter! Somehow, I just can't get past the crew cut- and she's nearly 60 years old now! Aside from her being in it, still, the trailer started off well, picked up momentum and had me feeling good about a legitimate D&D film being made.
I used Final Destination 2, Wolf Hound (slavic fantasy movie), Dragonslayer, Pathfinder, Elric (fan movie), Midnight (fan movie), Willow, Conan 2, Timeline, Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince, and Outlander.
The original movie ALWAYS should have been based on the cartoon. I never understood why they didnt play that angle up. Especially since the characters in the movie could have easily been the characters from the cartoon just alittle different.
i used to watch the show when they re ran it on the saterday mourning cartoons and i dont think it would work as a movie becasue the storyline of how the character came to bein the magical world is as week as water downed alcohol
If you read the description it would explain that I based this trailer on the cartoon series Dungeons and Dragons, which began with five friends being transported to the D&D world via a magical roller-coaster (FD was the closest I could come to a live action equivalent).
I wish people took DnD more seriously as a genre. It's a world with more thought put into it than the vast majority of other fictional worlds but it is relegated to the realms of nerds just because of the stereotype.
Final Destination 3, Midnight (fan film by Fantasy Flight games), Wolfhound (a slavic fantasy film), Pathfinder, Willow, Dragonslayer, Conan the Destroyer, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and pieces of a short film called Elric Stormbringer.
Definably do more of your own story trailers. I'm sick and tired of all these remakes/squeals these days. Your stuff is better than anything these days.
Or do that story I posted a long time ago to you.
You had something about "I want to make a movie". I can make good 3d models/backgrounds and photoshop pretty well.
Great work. Never watched the series but I have seen the actual film trailer. Doesn't seem to have any relevance to the role playing game. This trailer is 100% better. excellent work.
If they ever make a new D&D movie... It needs Drizzt

Thier are so many DMs and players out there with so many good ideas and such creativity. To bad people who made the real move lacked both.
We will probably never get a good move for D&D becouse the movie was so bad, sigh.

as cheap as it sounds, its actually a reboot i would see.

If only they would do this after the cheap bombs they've had blow up in their faces... I'd love to see a live version of the cartoon series.
Armorbeast 10 months ago
@Armorbeast Absolutely. The cartoon D&D is what they should have started with. Like a cross between Back to the Future and Jumanji with monsters!

This is brilliant. What film is the 'Wizard' from. I know the second clip is HP.
Ravencroft77 2 years ago
I'm glad you liked it!
The wizard clips are from an independent movie called Midnight, based on the roleplaying game of the same name.

I requested this trailer over a year ago. You even used my Final Destination 3 suggestion for the roller coaster. Better late than never, my friend!

Sorry about that, and sorry for responding so late too xD
I'm glad you enjoyed it if you did!

Then it could only improve! The idea I liked about the series was that each weapon was a representation of the characters.
