We had the Battle of Battle of Avarayr with them, The Persians army was vast and won but the Shah respected our fight and allowed us to remain Christian without further war.

Hi I am a Persian and I love Armenian music.

Iranian-Armenians have had a positive role in the face of politics , art and science in Iran. They are very smart artistic and educated.

But I have never heard of any wars between Persians and Armenians. can you tell me about it? If you mean the ghajar invasion of caucus, they were turks ruling Iran and not Persians. As long as I know Persians and Armenians have always been friends and actually they are very much respected among people in Iran.

Armenia was forced to be a part of the Persian empire from the Achaemenid period on. And in 451 it tried to convert Armenians from Christianity back to Zoroastrianism by force. Having said that, I love Persian culture and am always amazed and gladdened by our similarities. Most Armenians, including me, have a deep respect for Iran and its people.

...but since Hovsepian has been dead for over 20 years, I think we can make do with Gasparyan nicely. No one can touch Hovsepian's "Hovern Engan" however. He's the only performer I've heard go down to the lower register (5 fingers on top and 4 on bottom) in the middle of the tune. Exquisite!

My Dear American friend. Thanks for the appreciation. Yet, there are many more things that one can learn about this Old Culture "Armenia". As an Iranian I love Armenians for our culture is so entertwined. The Love stories Like Romeo and Juliett, the Love stories of the King of Persia and the Queen of Armenia... and more. Jivan took me back to thousands years back and with sadness I felt enriched.
