  • No one can deny she's talened with language. Artful.

  • @buggybadass talented. sorry. i spilled beer on my keyboard lol

  • She say's "Uhm" waaaay to much hahaha.

  • shit like this can happen , my mom moved to america and in a year she had a full american accent..

  • Madonna scares me but lady gaga haunts my nightmares that copied hoe!

  • She loses her so called "Accent" and also if you notice she has to think of the words when she's talking to make sure she has an accent for each one. Ridiculous, I don't understand why people (rich or poor), cannot be themselves!

  • What's up with the accent Madonna? WTF man!!!

  • Shes from lower manhattan. Why fake the british accent?

  • @nayshia89 Madonna is from Michigan.

  • Wait why are Madonna's bits muted?

  • When you're in a particular country for a good chunk of time you do start to pick up on their accent a little bit and unknowingly start to have a bit of an accent yourself. I have a friend in Los Angeles who moved her from Texas. He had a thick southern country accent when he moved here, now it's almost gone after being in L.A. for only a couple years.

  • what the fuck is that accent? she's from new york!

  • @xosammyjoe She's from Michigan....

  • @ghettokhanacademy she's from new jersey...look it up...

  • @CrazyForNYCLights Madonna was born and raised in a split level in Bay City Michigan and moved to NY when she was 19 and worked at a doughnut shop !

  • @CrazyForNYCLights she is from Bay City Michigan. She went to high school in Rochester, just north of Detroit. I know because my English teacher taught her there.

  • This is rubbish.Brits do it all the time(the many i've encountered) come to america to live ,and they slip in and out of an american accent with their native "English" accent CONCIOUSLY and they arent children but thats acceptable. But if an american does it its not accepted,...i hate this double standard with accents between america and the english. Its funny how ONLY americans are singled out with this english accent business. Many act as if their accents are untouchable.

  • @123me86 I think it is Americans that are doing the bitching.

  • the fist thing she said wasnt even a question, she just said wow there was a big deal about the adoption, madonna should have just said, are you gonna ask me a question or what?

  • Good on you Madonna! People always want to believe the worst!

  • I love Madonna, but at her age you cant just change and pick up a new accent after having one for so long. Its not 'half american half english', its an American faking an English accent.

  • who the hell thought that panning each voice to opposite speakers was a good idea?? christ that's annoying

  • I still think it was bullshit.

  • SHE'S FROM ENGLAND

  • @pitbulliznice

    She's from New York

  • @TheKupoQueen she's from michigan actually

  • embarassing

  • I speak 3 languages and I'm speaking like a British person. My accent is American as I lived in America for 10 years .So it's understanding that she has some British accent

  • being a brit she sounds more british to me than american

  • I feel so sorry for her, she tried to do an amazing thing and she was (as always) met with nothing but criticism and disdain. I can imagine that as privileged as she is, it can sometimes be very difficult to be Madonna.

  • WE ARE KURDISH LOVE HER WE LOVE YOU MADONA

  • @DanialKurdistani kurdistani? haha where the hell is your country? I have never heard a country called kurdistan. Wake up body, you guys are terrorists and has no flags has no country.

  • @kragop madonna is one of the most intelligent women in the industry. She is a legend and we love her! LOVE YOU MADONNA!

  • lol she now has an accent...ooookayyyyy

  • she sounds scottish

  • People wake up and smell the fu__in coffee - Madonna doesn't care about you, she cares about taking your money... she's an uneducated idiot.... just look at her...

You spend all your time talking about, do you think she spends time talking about you... no, she just wants your money...

  • Its easier to listen to how she says something than to listen to what she says

  • Well I think it's warranted. She WAS immersed in a lot of English influence for quite a fair bit of time and if you listen carefully, it's like a half American half English accent. It's like her accent is phasing out or something.

  • @nattanable shes still a snotty bitch

  • A beautiful and talented women.

  • She sounds Irish...

  • that bitch ain't never been to malawi but want to adopt a black

  • She is such a slag! Phony ass bitch!!!

  • What's the big deal? Look at Mel Gibson who was born in the states, gained the aussie accent went he moved to australia at age 12, now he lives in the states and has an american accent.

  • Guys is just ridiculous that you keep mentioning the "english accent" of Madonna!

Is simply natural that if you have been living in a different country for longer than 10 years you would slightly change your way of speaking! You would probably be at least antisocial if your accent wouldn't change at all...Having relations with people who speak in a different way is normal to get a different accent after a while!

  • It's not an accent. If anything, since her rise as a celebrity, and now living among upper class British, she's likely become sensitive to the importance of annunciation. I'm neither a fan nor a detractor of Madonna, but I credit her for more than once pointing out that when all is said and done, she is still a girl from Detroit.

  • Does anybody have anything more intelligent to contribute than to call Madonna out on a supposed "fake English accent"? that's all I've read here and it's pretty dumb.

  • Love her accent :)

  • what's with the audio going out?

  • It's natural for certain people to pick up accents. They are usually musically inclined. Spanish is my first language and I live in Mexico in a neighborhood where there are French and English speaking people. I learned English and French even without trying. If people learn other languages just by being around those who speak them, why is it so wrong to pick up an accent? It is still the same language. I don't think you would understand unless it has happened to you, too.

  • Comment removed

  • When did she have her pussy removed?

  • After a few months in another country, there is a tendency to pick up the accent. It's natural.

  • I do really love this interview. Because I love her accent, her look, her VOICE and she looks absoloutely gorgeous!!!!

  • she has always done that..shes thinkn bout wat shes goin to say and shes living in uk like ten years shes bound to pick up a slight accent and shes also just trying to be polite haha all those haters calling madonna an ugly cunt look in the mirror who are you!!!!!!!

  • Does she know how to use a sentence without saying "umm" three hundred times?

  • Fake English accent = FAKE PLASTIC WHORE

  • oh my god, if you live someplace for too long where everyone has an accent, it will rob off on you!!!! So sick of people judging Madonna for the accent!!

  • @NickKhivren It's totally fake. She pronounces some things with an American accent, but then she'll pronounce the exact same sound later, but with a British accent. If it was real, it would be consistent. Certain sounds would be consistently British-sounding, but they're not. She is consciously choosing to change her accent.

  • @Tique07 I speak 5 languages, and lived in 7 countries! And I have observed that it is VERY common to many people to get accents mixed up when living in a foreign country for a certain period of time. Especially in London! I lived there for a month and began to catch myself putting an emphasis on the letter "O" a lot more than I used to. It was not intentional. Some people just have a given talent to absorb pronounsuations naturally. Those are the same people who learn languages faster.

  • @Tique07 but what I really do not appreciate is people attacking Madonna on this accent thing, as if it is the most important aspect of the interview as a whole. It's impossible to go through comments without stumbling upon all these opinions on how she is so fake, blah, blah, blah. Is it jealousy, or what is it? If these people are American, do they feel as if Madonna betrayed them by living in UK?? What's the deal, really? Take a chill pill!! Some people just naturally absorb accents, it's ok!

  • @NickKhivren I agree with you! I speak 2 leguages, and I do never use the accent that I use with my friends that the one that I use when I talk with my grandparents. We are always changin our accent depending who you are talking to, and we don't reliaze that. But why do we critizie her? because she is Madonna?!!... what the hell are we paying atention to? Instead to see the pont of the interview!

  • its so fake and annoying

  • ugly cunt.

  • i myself get an accent very easily... it doesnt take me a lot of time!

  • What she doesn't mention and probably won't is that she was bullied by Guy when she was married to him. Eventually it will come out in a movie about the life of Madonna. What is it with these jerks she marries who like to push her around?

  • @verynicelookingguy27 Why did Guy bully her? That's horrible :(

  • @elajiera I really can't say why Guy did it.. I can say that Madonna feels for those who have been bullied because she's been bullied herself.. In Christopher Ciccone's book, he mentions that Guy bullied him around also and called his work as an interior decorator " twee". Even though Madonna doesn't approve of her brother's book, it does give hints about the mistreatment that she experienced when she was with Guy.

  • It's easy for some people to pick up the accent of the country they are living in & she was living in London at the time, with a British husband. I quite like it - it softens her.

  • @lincliff1 is right.

  • There are other clips where she slips from American to upper-class British to cockney. If you pick up an accent, you don't pick up two versions of that accent. I know several people from other countries that've lived in the US for decades and they haven't lost their original accent. She's being ridiculous.

  • I love her though...

  • I hate that fake English accent.......

  • @jiggy12able I think it's totally normal that she adopted this accent. She lives most of her time in London and her ex husband is a brit. It just happens. I know it from myself and friends of mine.

  • MADONNA IS THE QUEEN!

  • It's more than a bit ridiculous that most of the comments on this video are about her slightly affected accent and manage to completely ignore the meat of the interview.

  • @polkakonigin what's even MORE ridiculous is to be SURPRISED by this shift of audience focus. she's from fucking bay city, michigan. you don't expect people to be distracted by her affectation?

  • Why are people always trying to "break" Madonna in interviews? is it jealousy or just cruelty?

  • For all you ignorants who criticize her accent, try moving to a different country for at least 6 months. Once you come back you're accent won't be the same! I asssure you. God!

  • embarrassing !

  • there is this Joan Crwaford like hardness, affected and sooo over the top pretentious-ness this woman exudes! LOVE it and HER!!! lol

  • She no longer lives in America. She has lived overseas for many many years now. She probably just developed a slight accent being over there for so long. I was born and raised in NJ, but i moved to Mississippi for about 3 years when i was 13. While there i picked up a slight southern accent. It happens, people.

  • madonna is a witch, she tried to kill Aisha using the mafia

  • MY aunt adopted two children who would have died if they hadnt had been adopted, she wasnt criticised for buying children. Yet madonna was, that's more a reflection on those who are critique, than the actual target

  • Shiksa - Shikse

  • It's common to begin speaking slightly differently when in the company of someone with an accent if you are an eccentric artist. It's part of the personality of artistic people. Many characters make one dynamic personality. I've never been an enormous fan of hers, but I think it's fun... I like it. At first i thought, "That's fake," but then I didn't care much. It could be somewhat cute, if you don't hate her.

  • She is such a faker. My family has lived in London for over 30 years and have never lost their American accent. So plastic.

  • Smart and rich woman.

  • @fuschiadea I think she mirrors the accent of any british person around her. and yes i notice it here too

  • @fuschiadea There is no such thing as a British accent, it's either a Scottish accent, N.Irish accent, a Welsh accent or a English accent, and that's a slight bit of a midland English accent she is using.

  • MAdonna sucks what is so good about he,r her long wanna be young cheeks?

  • @ollypollyfive Good about her is first place in music history of pop music:

SHE IS A QUEEN OF POP MUSIC, and she deserved that title.

And those cheeks are fine , do not be petty soul.

  • She adopted a child from a third world country and still she was criticised leave MADONNA alone you fucking haters shes saved two children from malawi and they will have an amazing life with madonna from what ive seen she is an amazing mother youve only to look at lola i saw a clip on one of her documentries of lola and rocco the children are lovely kids and thats down to madonnas nurturing as a mother shes amazing and is a modern day mother teresa!!

  • @PAULYBOY78able Dont compare her to mother teresa and I personally think this is just a publicity stunt. Seems like black and asian babies are the hippest thing out there! But i could be wrong about her. either way, I dont care and she probably could care less about criticism on youtube. No need for you to defend her ;)

  • she needs to be bummed

  • I love Kirsty

  • Love how midlantic she sounds here :-)

  • I LOVE YOU MADONNA!!!!!!!

  • evil eyes.

  • Well, the sincerity in the voice comes and goes, but she does seem moved by the whole experience.

  • @studentcomputersbiz i agree! the media likes to be harder on those who are at the highest level. look at MJ and brit--->always getting slashed by the media, ESPECIALLY madonna! the poor girl. i love her!

  • she is insane and its a show: adopting a malawi child and faking her accent while talking about it

  • why the fuck is she speaking in a british accent, she's from Michigan.

  • @minaroar Because she's lived in London for over a decade.

  • @minaroar Accents change if you live in other places.. unless you make a real effort to keep them the same.

  • @minaroar Why are you using the term british accent, it doesnt exist! Britain is a group of countries, she might have an ''ENGLISH'' twist but her hubby was english and she lived there for a decade, look at Tina Turner she developed one too but no one hates on her

  • @moroney1 british accents are different than Irish, and Scotland and Wales I don't know much about.

  • @minaroar no, britain is Northern Ireland, Wales Scotland and England. You're right you dont know much, cuz she and no one has a ''british'' accent it doesnt exist

  • @moroney1 England is on the island of Great Britian, Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland. In America sometimes we call you british if you live on the island of great britian.

  • @minaroar no u fool great britain isnt an island..!!! its a group of countries which england invaded to create a united kingdom, their great britain. northern ireland is apart from great britain, nd what im trying to tell you is you cant hve a british accent you're completely using the term wrongly

  • @moroney1 I know that northern ireland is part of the UK - great britian, every map I've seen, Ireland and great britian look like seperate islands. and NO americans will NOT stop calling the british, british, just because you don't like it.

  • @minaroar please read wat im saying, im not giving out about calling them british, but by using the term 'british accent' you are making no sense

  • @moroney1 actually, I am interested, is Northern Ireland a lot like the rest of Ireland, is it a seperate country?

  • Only Madonna could appear on Newsnight with drapes, petals and gothic candles.

  • I wish she'd adopt me. :(

  • From 1983 to 1986, Madonna's musical productions were often girlish and naïve in nature, focusing primarily on love, romance, passion and boy-meets-girl relationships

  • shes one stunning creation of a woman inside and out!! Oh, and FCK the haters who sweat her accent!! Its called class and brilliance!!!!

  • omg is she serious. shes from deetroit acting like shes from Buckingham palace and also using big words, oh puh-lease.

  • @parachuteboi - Well... She was definitely born in Detroit, but her father is Italian and her mother is French/Canadian. So, she has European blood all the way. And, also if she talk like that… Probably, it's because she lived in The United Kingdom for almost a decade. Because she’s music royalty, because she’s the world’s greatest female artist of all time and The Queen Of Pop.

  • @nosaintjerome You're right. I don't really even hear that much of an accent though.....so not sure what the big deal is in the first place. My aunt grew up here in the states and married a man from Enland and moved there. After only like a year or two she had a full blown accent as well. It was a trip, but definitely not an act. It happens just like when your around friends a lot who use certain words that you start using because of them.

  • Hah, she's got a British accent!!

  • bjork lived in england for a while and picked up an accent. she's icelandic. i think maddie's "accent" is partly contrived and partly because of her surroundings. btw people madonna has been using that accent since soon after the girly show. check out the footage.

  • WONDERFUL ACCENT, if I go to live in England I would pick the same one.

  • I LOVE MADONNA. She says the word, "Granny" beautifully :) I think she is absolutely gorgeous! Ageless beauty and grace!

  • What a Fake posh english accent!

she normally speaks with a trashy american one....

  • @christolz i remember her old interviews where she says TANKS instead of thank you lol.

  • SHE IS THE HOTTEST AND THE ONE :)

    THE QUEEN

  • The whole accent thing BAFFLES me. If she would just talk normal, she might appear normal.

  • Well she did live in theUK for years and overtime as you live in area with a different dialect you will adapt pieces of that new dialect into your own original one.

  • santa subito

  • what is with the english accent ?????????

  • @bobbie141 I think when you live long enough in a foreign country, you can't help it, you subconsciously adopt it. People oppose that because she's Madonna. ( I am Polish and I live in UK)

  • @bobbie141 Why do you think? Retard!

  • Why are they trying to patronize her!? How many children have they adopted from the U.K., Africa or otherwise!?

  • Madonna !!!!!!!!!! love u x

  • i heard she can eat herself out.... why even leave the house??

  • ok for the last people! this is a kick ass bitch and i love her music and what she does! sooooooooooooooooooooooooo fuck off !damm walk a mile in her shoes just once! do your thing madonna you have am true fan here always!

  • @junkboyy She doesn't have a British accent. You can tell she has spent some time in England by her speech pattern but, it's not a British accent.

  • PIANO TEACHER plays MADONNA DANCE MUSIC !

  • what a beautiful set.

  • shes a QUEEN!! Pop music ROYALTY!! THATS why she talks that way!!!!

  • I don't know why she's trying to do british accent!!

  • @skyscrapersboy when you live someplace for a long time you pick up the way they speak...it's human nature ;)

  • @junkboyy its fake!!!

  • Its sure she'll have a small accent if she leaves so long in London -.- People try to find critisizes cause theres nothing else we can critisize about herXP

  • she says um too fucking much

  • @omfg2crunk I'd like to hear you in a live TV interview with millions watching

  • @CAYOMluver uhmmm but she has been doing interviews for years.

  • she talks funny

  • what's the point in interviewing it

  • um...why does she have a british accent?

  • @planetlennie she does that whenever she speaks publically...did i spell that right??...whatever

  • god, could this woman possible love HERSELF more lmao !! LOVE HER!!!!

  • Intelligent, generous and very inspiring woman! God Bless!

  • @sonze1234567890 That is all what I am saying too.

  • I have seen many stills here..

    and,

    details Oriented

to me it is all interest for/in the exotic,

Malawi? where is that? 'King David'?

It sounds absolut not natural..to me

but i understand the desperate search

    there is beauty in it.

  • a conscious American? does that mean killing children in Iraq and Afghanistan? Please explain.

  • hot damn what a STUNNING woman!! queen.

  • It was a great abstraction to talk about race (at the time of the adoption) when the reality is that children starve and go without in a world of plenty.

  • She's so serious. I like that a lot. She know exactly what she does,i hear it ! She's so an amazing person, very remarquable !

  • illuminati ass bitch

  • @skeemts STRAIGHT UP BEST REPLY TO THIS VID

  • Wow, where did the accent come from.Maybe she's really conscious of her speaking when over there...but she has been all over the world .I think she is amazing she has changed world culture.THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HER! She sacrificed her career to help my gay bruhs out in awareness. She is a saint for doing this! world perception changed!

  • everything she do ,I like it, she become immortal, never forget that people.

  • WTF? She wants to be the queen now?

She'll snap out of it and realize what it really means to be a conscious American, something she hasn't been yet.
