  • Thank you, your video is very easy to understand !

  • saludos desde Mexico, me encanto el video :D

  • She has such a pleasant voice

  • probably a dumb question but does it matter the order when stringing the guitar? like from 1-6 or from 6-1, or maybe 4-6 then 3-1? Thanks

  • What if you have Augustines with the little loop at the end... do you still tie or do you just use the loop?

  • Thank you so much for this lesson. I play guitar for my music ministry and my wife bought me a classical [practice] guitar at Christmas. I love it and I've just bought new strings but had no idea how to string it. Too many years playing standard steel-string acoustic. Can't wait for the new strings to settle in. God bless!

  • good stuff.

  • song in the beginning?

  • thank you !

  • Does anyone know the name of the song in the beginning?

  • thank you guitar lady i changed my D string

  • excellent ... ty...

  • Thank God I found you! I got new string's for a gift and they didn't have the plastic things on the end like I was used to

    Thanks for your help!

  • Si fuiste muy especifica muchas grasias

  • AHH Thank you so much! You're a lifesaver :)

  • Thanks!

  • thank u aunty

  • Thank you!

  • I just changed strings on a classical guitar for the first time last week, but they wouldn't stretch far enough for me to tune it right! Almost every string broke before it got to the right note. Should I leave time for them to stretch? Please help! thanks

  • thanks a lot :)

  • Hello jeanw2007,

I love the reverb on your voice---it makes you sound like your giving this stringing lesson directly from heaven or the afterlife anyway... very good lesson.

  • Thanks!

  • very good vid. have used it twice now

  • I need some help with tuning my E string!!! Yesterday I opened my guitar case after not having played for a couple of years. I tried to tune the guitar, but I could not get the high note in the E-string. It kept on sounding like the second string. SoI tightened the string more to get a higher note, but It snapped! So I went to the store to buy new strings. Again the same case. How do I get the high note in my E-string??? I hope someone can help me...

  • for those out there, who're as new to this as me, careful not to pull the strings too taut before you start winding - speaking from experience, thats how you snap a low E =P

  • Buenísimo.

  • thank you very much :)

  • Ehh I'm pretty scared to get the string higher, it just sounds in tune in about 1 loop, and if I would pull it higher it would just pop :(

  • i just changed my strings but my low sounds terrible

should i buy a new set?

    and

by the way should i use normal or high tension strings?

  • @notsocrazyguy It depends on the guitar. I like high tension strings for one of my guitars and normal for the other. Try both and see which you prefer for the individual guitar.

  • @notsocrazyguy - Your priority strings should be:

    1. Savarez

    2. Augustine

    3. D'addario

  • that's clear and well done, thanks.

  • TANKS

  • ty (:

  • Very good instructions :) I always forget how to string my classicals well :P

  • i bought a hohner parlour half size guitar for 45 bucks, and it has classical strings. thanks for the help, now if i only could play worth i damn i'd be set =P

  • Well presented and good, clear instructions. Thx for posting

  • what's with the freaky reverb!! hahahaha

  • I agree... it's too much reverb, but I hope the content is helpful.

  • Gracias Jean! very helpful!

  • Gracias Jean!!! Very Helpful!

  • I like the echo...it gives it a nice ambiance.

  • thanks

  • Thanks a lot, Jean, I was needing a tutorial like this! Greetings from Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain).

  • thank you so much! very helpful.

  • Haha me either. But i need to.

  • best explanation for stringing a classical guitar on the internet. thanks.

  • Do you think it's a good idea to cut the remaining part of a string?

  • how come these kind of guitars have the whole neck next to the hole and it ends with 18 or 19 frets and other acoustic guitars have 22 like an electric guitar

  • because one is a cut away acoustic guitar, ones in which you can actually play like in a electric guitar. Normal acoustic guitars just have 18-29 frets

  • thank you!!! i was afraid of telling my parents ive already broken a string and this video helped me fix my problem!

  • This helped so much!! I don't want to go to someone else just to restring my guitar! Thank you so much, and God Bless!

  • jeanw2007 Muchas Gracias tu video me ayudo mucho para cambiar las cuerdas de mi guitarra.

  • I have a music competition this monday (today's saturday). will the strings already had broken in by that day?

  • Yes... they are available in your local music store. If not, they can always order them.

  • Thank you so much!

String winders, will they most likely be available at my local music store?

    Thanks again,

    Liam

  • Are there any nylon string guitars you never have to tune.... hah!

  • Guitar Hero!

  • jaja

  • echo echo echo echo

  • Great help.Thanks.

  • video came in very handy.Thanks.

  • hello i just put changed my nylon strings and teh bottom 3 strings keep going out of tune plz help thnx

  • Nylon strings take a day or so to break in. Make sure the weight of the string is on itself so it's not slipping. But it does go out of tune a lot when you first change the strings. They settle after a few days, but I still recommend tuning often.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very helpful.

  • easier steel strings, but mine is nylon :(, anyway it helped me a lot

  • best vid

  • thanks!

  • what is the name of the song at the start. its realy nice. do u know of any other music like this. i am really in to it but i dont know what it is called or anyhting, please help

  • THANK YOU!!

  • thanks, i already ruined a set of strings, too bad I didnt saw the video before haha

  • thx very much. gonna try it

  • THANK YOU !!!!!

  • wow that helped alot thanks

  • i hope my 5 stars can make your video appear as a 5 star video. :)

  • is it ok if i put steel strings on a classical guitar

  • The poundage on a nylon set of strings and the poundage on steel strings is quite different. Its quite bad for the guitars to have strings they weren't designed for. If the steel strings are rough on your fingers, buy a cheap beginners classical guitar, please please dont put nylon on acoustics and steel on classicals. =]

  • THANK YOU!

  • Thank you! I just got my mom's old classical guitar out of retirement. I'm just learning how to play, and my mom doesn't remember much since it was such a long time ago. The 5th string was broken so it was really nice to get some clear instructions on how to put a new one on there. Thanks again.

  • very useful thanks

  • that was really useful, thanks.

  • i just did it :D

while i was watching the vid i was trying to do it lol

xD thanks alot u are nice :D

  • Obrigado!!!

  • muy util

  • You can put nylon strings on an acoustic guitar, but it doesn't sound as good. You're certainly welcome to try it. Just purchase a nylon string with a ball on the end so it can work with the pegs of an acoustic.

  • And viceversa, can i use steel strings on a nylon-acoustic guitar?

    Thanks...very useful...

  • good job

  • wow, thanks a lot!!

  • Hi, I have a La Patrie Seagul Etude. I am still playing it with the strings that came with the guitar when I bought, about 6 months ago. Does anyone have any suggestions for strings for this particular guitar? What sounds best? What tension? What maker? Stuff like that. Thanks.

  • muy bueno :D

  • Thankyou so much, i finally get it!!

  • hey instead of using nylon strings on a classical guitar can u use steel???? will it make a difference??? plzzz reply

  • It's not a good idea to use steel strings on a classical guitar. The steel strings put a lot more stress on the neck of a guitar. Steel string guitars usually have a metal rod inside the neck, classical guitars do not.

The best solution is to just buy a steel string guitar.

    blessings,

    Jean

  • thanks!

  • thnx! this helps alot! ;)

  • cool i didn't kno they made those thinga ma jiggies! (1st! btw)
