LMFAO xD i hope in this years have you learn how to use it...... the first SW file doesnt have the same name, so i doubt you make the final model, and the drawing lines from the first doesnt looks like the final one....
Thank you for that fantastic tutorial! I just started using solidworks and bought the SolidWorks 2011 book which covers beginner to advanced topics, and is very comprehensive. I often use the book as a reference to go through.
i love how "artists" draw thousands of lines just to make one line. if you know what it is going to look like, draw one line and save yourself some time and save me the pain of watching you creating millions of short little jagged lines to create one line. being able to draw is nothing more than practice. short, jagged, repetitive lines to create one long line is nothing more than a bad habit.
@Alpstarr50 Solid works isnt that difficult, some parts of it are, but other parts are very easy to learn, I had a drafting class on it, and it was fairly simple
If you're an industrial designer... your line quality and control is surprisingly poor. That's the first thing they teach you in any decent ID school. What's the deal?
@OlimNeyah It is a rough sketch and ultimately the final product in Solidworks turned out very good looking, and it was only a basic 3d model. You probably went to a pretty poor ID school yourself if you don't realize this.
@ednuttah this probably would just come down to what's easiest?... some people can model without any issues within a 3d program... some people find it easier to draw then import. You could also ask why not draw it straight in Illistrator? Everyone works differently... and it's just what you're comfortable with :)
hello can you explain or graph what you did, saving in illustrator is just, (. AI) and then open to the same extent from SolidWork I export and save almost all the extensions and there is no case I functions in addition to as exports in the various planes that would be important if you could explain more detailed.
In some cases it is. What I'd really like to see is for SolidWorks to be able to sketch a live spline as you stroke the pen across the Cintiq (just like it works in Illustrator).
I was wondering when someone was going to notice that! Haha! What can I say? It was late, and this video was just going to serve as a rough draft. I'm back to fix it, but now it has nearly 8,000 views - I can't delete it and redo it now! : )
@sebadmz yea! lame. he sucks. i mean, the cable thing!? pfffft. better just let me have that cintiq there till your talented enough to use it. ...no, hes really good. im just a reluctant intuos4 user.
pretty good man. But there's no way I can afford that Cintiq. that thing costs more than a good laptop. so ID designers perfer solidworks, photoshop and illustrator? How about Rhino or AliasStudio and Sketchbook pro?

@OlimNeyah Wow, you know what's poor? Your attitude! Not very surprising, though. Lots off ass-tarts on the Internet.
This video clearly demonstrates a powerful working method without being dry or boring. Kudos to the author!

That isn't fair. It's so easy! What did the designers do 60-70 years ago?
Zingam 2 years ago
why wouldn't you just use Alias and do all of this in one software ;)

Because then you'd have to sacrifice the quality of the software and the output ; )
