  • Bring me back the 80's...

  • Albert Hall was great too. Swagger to defeat. Remember him as the Chief in "Apocalypse Now?"

Even the guy playing the Nicaraguan Student and that mohawked assassin... great!

Loved the morph from Ted Nugent to Don Johnson at the end.

Watch a very young Don Johnson in "A Boy and His Dog:"

    /watch?v=lh7PYGV-PKc <---- Movie starts at 1:35

  • This is taken from the 2nd series, named Definitely Miami. The complete collection is still amazing to watch, this show was so ahead of it's time.

  • Everyone was so beautiful in 1986.

  • WOW...my mind just warped back to highschool! I soo recall this epic episode and this cool song then. Uncle Ted too as the that week's baddie--LOL...too funny.

  • "Definately Miami" the BEST Vice episode ever! the sun glass thing was so cool. what good acting that was. i got to do the same thing to a girl one afternoon it was so cool! i felt just like Sonny Crockett it was very VERY VERY COOL! the dude had style, that is some thing you don't see on T.V. no more.

  • Aside from the Calderon Father/Son sequels, this is Sonny Crockett at his coolest - never get tired of watching this episode. And this track by Godley and Creme could describe Sonny's conflicting emotions fits like a glove - no other 80s sound track comes close.

  • ARIELLE ON THE SAND (SIGH) A DREAM

  • While all that about the song and the show is 100% accurate, I just love the look on Castillo's face when he looks down at the Fed crook there. Edward James Olmos nailed that look of utter contempt. He prolly needed only one take to do it.

  • What better way to pay homage to the 80's, Miami Vice, Godley & Creme and summer with one wonderful video!!

  • Why dose the part in the song where he says "you dont even know how to say goodbye" sound so familiar to me,can anyone help

  • ray-bans <3

  • Muy lindo tema. Me tranquiliza en este hermoso momento en el que estoy en un nuevo camino. Soy un ser feliz indistintamente las circunstancias en que yo me meto. Lo estoy disfrutando y Dios me acompaña! Sigo

  • So awesome!

  • Michael Mann-- enough said.

  • "Definitely Miami" was definitely Miami Vice at its best.

By this time in the second season, the writers had gotten a handle on how they wanted to depict the cast of characters, and how to establish their arcs.

"Definitely Miami" was a one hour version of "Body Heat."

  • I seriously doubt a brief case could stop a bullet , but hey, this is television...

  • @PlanTonto

Crockett asked Switek to line the inside of the briefcase with two chrome moly steel plates because he suspected that Callie and Charlie Bassett were running a scam on him.

  • Rob Cohen directed this one along with music selections by Jerry Cohen

  • I still love the song and like mentioned the song and MTV stylized video done by the awesome director of these select few Miami Vice Episodes is a perfect blend....

the 80s were certainly gr8 years!

  • I saw Arielle on Montreal TV live last wednsday night...She still looks good.

  • These were good times and stereo TV was just coming out. I used to listen via radio stereo simulcast.

  • Photography,Music, actors...everything was in synch....a near perfect scene....

  • the rhodes chords take this song to rare territory

  • Lucy & Mark ~ SOS~

  • Nothing will ever match this. TV sucks wind these days. Everyone has to be smarmy and "smarter than you"... it gets tired.

  • "Definately Miami" the BEST Vice episode ever! Don Johnson showed real depth with his conflicting emotions. Ted Nugent had just the right amount of "cocky swagger" and Arielle Dombasle was soooo hot! This was (is) the a phenominal episode. The BEST - although I would give "Smugglers Blues" a close 2nd !

  • I've been searching for the name and artist of this tune FOREVER. Got up way too early this a.m. with a badass headache and this episode was being rerun. Finally, I've got the goods!!!!!!!

  • Is that Ted Nugent?

  • I'm 425 years old and if I hear another person say how old they were during the 80's I'm gonna kick their ass!!!

  • @zeuthuk I was a freshman in high school in 1986, so that would make me 14! lol

    1986 was a great year!!!

  • I remember seeing this EXACT moment on TV. It blew me away. Yes holy crap I miss the 80's. It was much more prosperous. No cell phones, better economy, jobs paid better.

  • Well I was living the dream for 10 years .... finally got fed up and went to a better life ,... every friday night I'd pull my cruiser over at 8 PM local ... call out for dinner, and pull out my 6" B&W TV and watch my boys .... still love the show ...

  • I Miss the Eighties....... Michael Mann approved mullets, Gators as pets, Awesome 5 o'clock shadow, Sheena Easton, Pastels and no socks, Sweet kit cars, 1 Explosion per episode, 100+ rounds shootout's, Samurai Latino lieutenant's w/ bad adolescent acne, And finally Awesomer MUSIC!!!!! F@&K the Future!!!! Bring back the 80's....
  • Damn good show with style and grace....

  • best tv show of all time !

  • This episode was very well written.

  • TV sucked after this show left the airwaves........

  • @miamimann1 True!!

  • Does anyone else see the screw up around 4:10?

  • @kingkongkohl I must have missed it, please clue me in. Thanks

  • @Boski391 She's looking at the helicopter when shown from the front, but when shown from behind she's looking at Sonny. I guess I've seen this episode too many times to notice stuff like that

  • @Boski391 She's looking at the helicopter when shown from the front, but when shown from behind she's looking at Sonny. I guess I've seen this episode too many times to notice stuff like that

  • This clip is 80s perfection...Nugent, Johnson, black C4 Vette, Faketona Spyder, a legendary tune and South Florida!

  • I miss the 80's, sigh.

  • Before AIDS, cell phones,MTV, internet.

Was as revolutionary as the beatles.

Introduced cutting edge fashion and top 40 music to tv.

Makes todays tv police drama look like kaka.

He rode on the coattails of James Bond.

  • @chuckm51 MTV and AIDS both predate Miami Vice by a few years, and James

Bond had been around for about 20 years

  • Before AIDS.

  • This clip is possibly the best bit of TV ever.

  • The show, the decade just kicked a**! Could not wait until Friday night when Miami Vice came on. If I went out during my high school years, it was a must to set my VCR to record the show.

  • Look, ma, no blood!

  • I love this show

  • I think we all know women like the character that Arielle played in this episode, the type that would sell there own mother up the river to save there own ass. One thing that they forget is Karma never forgets.

  • Nicely Done!

  • I still have the 45 of this song. The six minutes above made this episode.

  • name of the song pls!

  • @DJsQuar3On3 "Cry"...18s into video

  • @DJsQuar3On3 For pete's sake, man...!

  • Arielle Dombasle - Beautiful!

  • I loved this episode!! Thanks for this treat.

  • Por que no hacen mas seriados como estos...buenisismos..cada capitulo era como para la pantalla grande, para el cine...exelentes

  • That's one of the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. What would she want with that troll Nugent in the first place?

  • Has anyone noticed who the guy in the Blue jacket is? That's Ted Nugent!! If there's anyone who WOULDN'T miss, it would be HIM!!

  • Has anyone noticed who the guy in the Blue jacket is? That's Ted Nugent!!

  • great episode

  • AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MY God, my God, My God!!! Great!!!!!!!

  • Simply awesome.

  • a good actor Don Johnson and mr Jan Hammer this is to remember the 80s my friends and also with the great song of crocketts theme from 80s too well it will be remembered for ever rswgreem.

  • LOL NICE APE DRAPE, NUGE!

  • I forgot just how great the music was

  • I remember this!!!. Is Excelent..

  • fantastic....remember this memorable moment....thanks

  • If i see this show, i wish i was born twenty years earlier!

  • lol Ted Nugent is in this episode ! Uncle Ted even pimp slaps Don Johnson in this episode. Only the Nuge has class when slapping the girl with one hand while having the other hand in his pocket. Played well his conman role for a rockstar !

  • i have this episode segment on audio tape-i had the only stereo vcr of all my friends - crocketts magnum freakin BOOMS . godley and creams also ROCKS

  • No song ever matched a TV episode the way "Cry" matched the ending of Miami Vice in "Definitely Miami". It remains the perfect blend of music and image.

  • You are so right Dirtyfighter, it is to me the best 5minutes on TV ever!

Searched a long time for it...not anymore!

  • @dirtyfighter34

Ever seen the In the Air Tonight scene? ;)

  • @dirtyfighter34 we ain'ts gots thyse trailers you bitches

  • @dirtyfighter34 the 80s were great i was 21 when this one aired i just seen this one on re runs not to long ago gave me goose bumps then and still today i think all the music they played on this show matched and blended with this show the part don johnson as sonney crocket fit him like a glove and oh yea he was very easy on the eyes as well huge crush lol this show will always be an 80s icon

  • @dirtyfighter34 Along the Watchtower in Battlestar Galactica was amazing.

  • @dirtyfighter34 You are so right. This episode was my favorite "Vice" episode ever ! For all the reasons you stated.

the story, the song, the ending. And if anyone cares, the "deadly duo husband and wife" were played by Ted Nugent", famous Rock guitarist of the Amboy Dukes, and his sexy, tempting, connving wife was played by the gorgeous French model/actress "Arielle Dombasile" ty

    "

  • @dirtyfighter34 I agree with you 100% and when this program aired was the first year stereo TV came out. Miami Vice was transmitted in stereo back then. Now look at what we have? VCR's VHS and BETA are both dead now.

  • @microminiskirt Season 1 was recorded in mono, although I heard some stations were using some kind of fake stereo. A shame as season 1 had some of the best music!

  • @dirtyfighter34 I agree with you 100% and when this program aired was the first year stereo TV came out. Miami Vice was transmitted in stereo back then. Now look at what we have? My Mitsubishi VCR was one of the first VHS stereo VCR's. VCR's VHS and BETA are both dead now. HDTV, 3D, LCD with LED backlit, Plasma HDTV in 3D. But there is something about this particuliar songs that comes across real good in this episode. Can't explain it but I still like this even though we are high tech.

  • @dirtyfighter34 Very well put. Michael Mann was a genius when it came to pairing up the music with the scenery and/or events transpiring on the screen at any given time. The only one time I think he topped this particular song by using it in Miami Vice was when he used Faded Flowers by Shriekback in his movie Band of the Hand.

  • @dirtyfighter34

Absoutley, and who could do it any better than the Motor City Madman, satisfaction oozes from Ted's pores....

  • God i wish i lived in Miami, instead of shitty old London.

  • @jackow1986

LoL I havent been to the UK yet, but what you say is exactly what every single Brit whose been on

    "Banged Up Abroad" has said

"I just wanted to get away from cold, and grey London,I wanted warmer temperatures, and warmer peoples"

... Is it really that bad? I used to live up northern California, near San Francisco, and I couldnt understand why tourists from around the world came there, all the bars, and clubs close at 2am,it's foggy, dirty, and dull

    So-Cal is way better

  • @ACTORnSCREENWRITER

What i said about London was probably a bit harsh. It's not really that shit but i would quite happily swap it for Sunshine and Beaches in So-Cal, or Florida any day.

  • @jackow1986

No I understand Jack, it's the samething with San Francisco. I've seen it through both sides of the fences, the good, the bad, and the rich, but it's just not my type of city.

I love tropical locations, for me paradise on earth is Tahiti. Its better than Hawaii, and since it's Frances Hawaii, and is EU property, you should consider there, very pretty

Tahiti like Miami has sexy people who are in shape (they have to be, because they have to wear less in all that tropical heat)

  • @jackow1986

By the way Jack, you should! You should swap it for warmer pasteurs, and warmer climates. I'm the exact same way man! You know you may have S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and that your body, and mind naturally needs warmer enviroments.

Thus why I visit, but would never live in a New York, or Chicago, but would rather be in the Monaco, Maldvives, Miami, Dubai, or Tahiti, or Thai Islands

If your not happy you must move out, of there. No if's and's or butt's about it.

  • Yeah, hurricanes every year. Water shortages (even though florida is bookended by a ocean and a gulf). One of the highest (if not the highest) murder capitals in the US. Oh yeah, aligators and crocs. Dream location.

  • @newfieboy58

Everywhere has it's issues, in California we have earthquakes, and high crimes too, but you choose where you want to go. I would never set foot in the bad areas, because as most immigrant families mines had to live in one... Well lets just say people in urban areas aren't as hospitable to foreigners, as say compared to the suburbs.

But you you survive, you live, and you learn to make the right decisions.

So in otherwords avoide the ghetto's and go to Orange County

  • the song , the series , the USA and Arielle , the 80's can't be copied

  • @jpm1 im so glad i was born in 73, the 80 were the best.

  • I'm The 50000!!!!

  • Poor Ted Nugent..

  • Arielle Dombasle was way hot

  • Miami Vice delivers such a nostalgic feeling for me!! I get all warm and fuzzy!! I wish I was the age I am now during that time. I love it!!!!! Cool, sexy, stylish, perfection.

  • Jeff Fahey and Bruce Willis as bad guys in Miami Vice episodes. Time capsule it folks...This show still rocks.

  • Miami Vice Gues Stars(no singers,only actors & actress):Ben Stiller,Liam Neeson,Viggo Mortensen,Julia Roberts,Bruce Willis,Wesley Snipes,Benicio del Toro,Melanie Griffith,Brian Dennehy,Annette Bening,Laurence Fishburne (Matrix),Jeff Fahey,John Leguizamo,Steve Buscemi,Paul Guilfoyle (CSI),Bill Paxton,Chris Rock,Helena Bonham Carter,Pam Grier,James Russo,Stanley Tucci,Penelope Ann Miller,Chris Elliot,Timothy Carhart,Charles S. Dutton,Vincent DOnofrio,Harry Shearer,John Glover,Miguel Ferrer...

  • Dennis Farina,Dan Hedaya,Keye Luke,Mark Linn-Baker,Joe Morton,Esai Morales,Dean Stockwell,Bob Balaban,Ed Lauter,Robert Pastorelli,Ian McShane,Kim Coates,Sonny Landham,Oliver Platt,John Finn,Matt Frewer,Greg Germann...

  • Miami Vice just keeps Kicking Ass!!!

  • Awesome!

  • Five years ago, in South America, I went to take a shower in my hotel room and had the TV going..they were showing some Tele Novala. Really wasn't paying attention, until I heard this voice from the show (French accent, speaking Spanish)..I looked closely at the TV and it was Arielle Dombasle..she still looked pretty good, even prettier..the blond beauty, with Don Johnson in the video..

  • Her face is a mess from plastic surgery but her body is still good. She dances at Crazy Horse Paris

  • Really! I saw this Novala in Venezuela about 6 yrs ago. She looked good, and as you say, her body was in good shape. Well, as they say, throw some lip stick on it and anything looks good. To bad, about the plastic surgery. She was a beauty back when..hey thanks gaguy1967

  • ted nugent got his ass kicked by don johnson

  • so fuckin cool!

  • i rember when coke hit a high of 350 for an eightball one summer in the s.w. coke wars in mexico, so we went and brought our own back ,much cheaper!!!!

  • PEOPLE, their is a guy I know who sells MIAMI VICE EPISODE'S MUSIC. He has a collection of 300 songs in their entirety. E-MAIL and i'll let you know further. I bought his collection and excellent listening quality.

  • that sounds cool! I would to know more about it please!

  • I am totally with you Pinballpete. I'd give my sisters kidney and a bottle of tequila to rewind to the 80's. Good times!

  • Captured the mood and atmosphere perfectly....and what a great song!!

  • The magic of Miami Vice in its full bloom.

In my opinion one of the best episodes.

  • I agree it was the best episode and a true TV classic

  • Yes thats Uncle Ted on Miami Vice this was a cool episode This was a cool TV show Don Johnson and Miami Vice reason i moved to Florida..

  • was that Ted Nugent?? never knew uncle Ted was on Miami Vice!!

  • it sucks fastlane only lasted a season..since it was basically an updated version of vice

  • one of the best episodes...and what a great ending, with a Cry.....I love this song! thanks for posting.....you did a great job!

  • God I miss the 80s!

This show was the 80s- The cars, women, music, excess all said 80s like no other. Wish I could go back there for a short time to relieve some very good times.

Thanks for posting this. Miami Vice is still one of my all time favorite shows.

  • I wish I could experience the 80s as an adult. I was only 7 years old in January 1986.

  • it wasnt that great.

  • @vermillionsands - eh, you didn't miss much.

  • @vermillionsands It was awesome - NOT!

  • @vermillionsands The 70s was better!

  • @vermillionsands Well, you're lucky you could experience the 80's at all... i was born in '93 so consider yourself lucky =P I definitely was born in the wrong decade =/

  • @vermillionsands I only started to exist 8 years after that year :-(

  • @Pinballpete007 Miami is waiting for you man

  • @Pinballpete007

    I wish i could be there, but not again, i'm 16 ;)

  • @Pinballpete007 Oh yea, me too!!

  • @Pinballpete007

SOOO much powder..SOOO much on the edge.80's Detroit..

  • @Pinballpete007 The 80's forever! you sure got that right. My best times fun with the best women and the best music. When I think of my 80's experiences realizing i'll never have it that good again. Everything else is just marking time.

  • Great job vermollionsands!

Seems like yesterday, felt it like it was today...

  • I like this episode

  • He needs to be on the Pantera!

  • dude its a vette heck they both are just a kit on sunnys car to make it look like a ferrari

  • It is really scarey how much some of us can relate to that song.....

  • I just watched this episode. One of the the best from the show. Ted Nugent did a great job as the mudering shiesty con man.

  • ahhhh the 80s, just out of high school, no real bills summers down the Jersey shore, thank god for u tube!!!

  • Oh yeah,I agree..graduated HS in 84..

No other era like the 80's..When music was music..Not the B.S that's played today

  • I miss the Jersey Shore !!!

  • I remember this was the time when TV was broadcasting in stereo.

  • Best Miami Vice episode ever. Will never get tired of it.

  • it should be the 300th time i watch it ... this week

  • my favorite episode!

  • Where's the blood? I wonder if Nuge and Johnson are on speaking terms?

  • That's 80s network television for you. You can't hold it against the show.

  • The girl at 3:13 is a french singer, she has admitted in an interview that Don was pretty angry about her because he wanted to hang out with her and more, and she had refused his dirty propositions :-)

  • Reminds me of a showdown in the old west.

  • Sonny killed The Nuge...

  • I remember seeing this episode when it first ran NBC Friday Night 10PM PST....

  • I wish It was 86 again... Great Tv and Great song!

  • I agree with you here, I wish it were the 80s again too...back then I didn't have to worry about any damn bills lololol

  • you could see the pure drama in Sunny's face at the end

  • my favourite episode EVER! the song by godley and creme is perfect for this ending. thanks for sharing.

  • It's the perfect mix of 80's popmusic and non-verbal cutscenes. Every cutscene blended perfectly in artistic way... the choice of camera, position and color balancing/sunfilter... Even the at the end the chopper was flying away while they are focusing on Sonny. Perfect timing needed and all background noise was authentic.

All this within a week of recording for a 45min episode in the mid 80's! Capture the moment...

  • I remember when this was aired, what a great show, I loved the 80's.

  • ...one of my faves from Miami Vice...great quality!!

  • Thanks for posting this scene from Definitely Miami. On Friday nights I would be watching Miami Vice, and from 84-86, before Miami Vice was on, Knight Rider came on an hour before. They just don't make shows like them anymore.

  • life and entertainment was good in the 80s. we lived through the best time. things have been going downhill since..

  • I'm the generation this decade... and sadly I feel the same too. MV has so much good content in a great package. If I watch copshows today, it's like watching an empty shell with only looks outside.

  • @kinmanyuen

Oeps, i voted thumbs down, i ment thumbs up. Sorry for my mistake.

  • one of the main reasons for me staying home till the show ended for that week. Great music, episodes, and the guest actors they had too...Bruce willis showed a cocky, arrogant side on one episode....thanks for posting this episode/song...love it.

  • I agree. We'd finish putting our makeup on and have a couple of wine coolers watching Miami Vice before we'd hit the clubs.

  • This shows why Miami Vice was #1 in the ratings for so long. It used the best songs of the day and mixed them with the music Jan Hammer was doing, who was just slaying 'em dead with what he was doing. This particlur episode was called 'Definitely Miami', but to anyone born after this who wants to know, it's definitely the 80's...

  • Wow! Nice Edit! Perfect.

    Best Regards!
