There is massive construction going on, the three buildings like in sniper's video are up already but not yet complete inside yet as far as I can see, there are three large bridges still being built, the Raha houses ( complex after complex ) are all along the beach which has a sailing club, and a mall already. This is Abu Dhabi not Dubai.

@IamFreeRu, The "they" you speak of are foreign workers. The architects for most of that stuff were Americans and the contractors were from South Korea. The people who actually live in the region could never have done these things, and their wealth has nothing to do with them, but the resources of their land that they sell in natural bulk form. The permanent jobs created by a mecca for tourists are low paying: maids, valets, drivers, operators, cleaners, etc. Pride has blinded you to truth.

I live in a tourist town, so I know what sort of roles they create for the residents of the area. It is concern, not envy, that motivates my comments. I don't believe in nationalism at all. I think we share an indivisible biosphere and Dubai is as much a part of my world as America is a part of theirs. I think it's a terrible shame that we find so many meaningless ways to divide ourselves.
