  • It's pretty funny that one of the killed in Scream 2 is named Maereen Evans..

  • How pleasing it is to hear "oldies" treasures from the UK, Canada and Australia (and other countries) here on YouTube. It is amazing to discover how many charted and non-charted songs are out there that are/were unknown to us here in "The States." Again, SirBB, thanks for sharing many of them with us! Len-G

  • @obg3leng3 Thanks, and good to know others out there listening to these. Still, I'd guess most of my postings are American!

  • Thank you so much for sharing all these marvellous Maureen Evans performances and reminding me of when I'd buy Embassy records, more affordable and - in Maureen Evans's case - often better than the originals. There were a few great girls singers at that time who didn't achieve lasting popularity (Jackie Trent and Julie Grant spring to mind), but Maureen has such a likeable voice, rich-toned and musical. Like Kay Starr she has that ability to make ordinary songs sound quite special. Love her!

  • @starrman22 Thanks for the interesting comment. Pleased to bring the memories back.

  • listen out for maureen singing TILL she sings it beautifully.

  • very very nice !

  • Outstanding vocals. I like this song almost as much as Helen Shapiro's version.

  • Absolutely LOVE this song. It grew on me - been playing it for the last three days. Picked it out on the piano, a very nice melody line.

  • One that I'm often humming to myself. Take a lsiten to Helen Shapiro's version.

  • is there a cd album available by maureen evans

  • Yes, on-line from UK-based Bim Bam Records. Called 'Like I Do' and has 31 tracks. But beware - tracks 11 & 12 are actually Susan Maughan by some strange error!

  • SWEET! Seems also recorded by Helen Shapiro.

What was Maureen Evans famous hit?

She may love you like I do....?

    Thanks

  • Yes, you've got it - 'Like I Do', from 1962. Certainly a top ten hit in the UK.

It sounds like it should be a Helen song, but don't know about that. .

  • Re- Time and time again:

If I remember correctly on Helen's 2nd Album Helen's Sixteen

  • In that case, I need it!

  • Yeah "Like I Do" It got to number 3 in the charts on, 29th Nov. 1962, and was in the charts 13 weeks.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Nice song, great orchestra and a gentle girlbacking. Faboulus.
