  • Iperagia, theotoke, souson imas

  • Islam is a cancer and we're in search of its cure.

  • Why every christian video in youtube needs a reply of PEDOPHILE MUHAMMAD's worshippers?

  • @TheCrookedTimber Christos Anesti..!

  • so God The ALLAH(we believe in same god as u do, we just name him ALLAH. u dont even know that ur a village idiot :D ) sent another holy book for peoples of earth :)

  • @Gaskovichs We Christians do not believe in your God.We do not believe that Muhammad was a prophet and the Quran is not a book from God.So really,we don't belive in the same God b/c we have different teachings.

  • @skategurl1102 ok maybe your godS are a little bit more paganic than ours. we have ONE and TRUE GOD. But u have three gods :D and we have believe in jesus we believe bible was a book from God. But then some people changed the original bible with ''THEIR'' version (and that s obviously true) then Allah sent another chance to earth, Quran

  • @Gaskovichs Actually,Christians don't believe in 3 gods,we believe in 1 God.And the Koran is corrupted. It denies the resurrection of Jesus. In fact, the Koran changes both the Christian and Jewish texts. It doesn't matter if Muslims believe in Jesus b/c you people have changed what He has taught.

Jesus said,"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."Revelation 22:13

That's why we believe Muhammad was a false prophet.

  • @TheCrookedTimber antichrist is the man u called pope. we have a book and its undoubtly unchanged! but popes used bibles as their notebooks. they added or deleted things as they want.. and u believe this. cathocilism isnt different than paganism ur worshipping to pope ! a human. And our true and only religion says that bible WAS true but ''some''(this includes pope i think) people changed it for their purposes..

  • but a primacy is given to Peter, whereby it is made clear that there is but one Church and one chair. So too, all [the apostles] are shepherds, and the flock is shown to be one, fed by all the apostles in single-minded accord. If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he imagine that he still holds the faith? If he [should] desert the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he still be confident that he is in the Church? [A.D. 250] — St. Cyprian, Bishop of Carthage

  • @pj100003 You Roman "Catholics" always use the same passage to your own demise. Answer me this: If this passage is interpreted the way you and the pope see it, why then did the other 4 Patriarchs not follow Rome? Rome was always seen as the first among equals. NOT the head of the Church. Christ is the head of the Church! Look at the Roman "Catholic" Church, few believe the same and hardly any worship the same. The Orthodox Church is truly Catholic for the belief and practice is universal!

  • @TheCrookedTimber I agree with you. But as Orthodox Christians, we are supposed to set a good example and not just hate on other's religions. I do not mean to judge but I think it would be better to just ignore his comment

  • Rating:As many stars as the heavens hold! This hymn fills me with such compunction that words fail me! Most Holy Mother of God save us!& St. Nectarios intercede for us! Thank you!! Спасибо! Evcharisto !

  • Absolutely Sacred, beautiful, and sublime; what an incredible spiritual love for our Blessed Mother this is... I am a Catholic of the Roman Rite, with a deep and profound appreciation and love for all Venerable and Ancient Rites of the glorious One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. This beautiful music moves my soul with love for the Holy Virgin and her Son. O Christ our God, glory to You!

  • O Virgin Queen, have mercy on me....

  • I'd like to see the Byzantines and RCC unite into one communion. The traditions of the Byzantine Church are such a credit to Christianity.

  • @SwissGuard100 At least with regards to Bulgarian Orthodox, it seems that some branches of the Eastern Orthodox want to join. The head Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox already bows to Pope Benedict XVI, kisses his ring, and acknowledges his primacy. If he had it his way, all of the thousands and thousands under him would be celebrating the Eucharist in communion with Rome. God speed the day! (speaking as a Catholic of the Roman Rite)

  • @SwissGuard100 If I'm not mistaken, the biggest two hold-outs to full communion are the Russian Orthodox Patriarch, and the Patriarch of Constantinople, in that order. Otherwise, there are good feelings these days from the other autocephalous bodies within Eastern Orthodoxy, especially since the days of Blessed Pope John Paul II.

  • @pj100003 There will never be "full communion" with Rome! Unless the Pope repents and converts BACK to Orthodoxy the True Church of Christ! Many Russians and ultra conservative Orthodox consider Patriarch Kirill and Bartholomew heretics just for having dialog and praying with Rome!

  • @onewhocomesdown The Lord says to Peter: "I say to you," he says, "that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church" . . . On him he builds the Church, and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep John 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed, the others were that also which Peter was [i.e., apostles]...

  • Very lovely, thanks. I am quite taken by the icon on the video. Beautiful! Might you happen to know the name of this icon or its creator?

  • Let's pray to Mother Mary, that the RC Church and the Orthodox Churches will unite.

There's so many we can learn from our orthodox brothers and the wonderful traditions of the Orthodox Church.

  • @wimpous Agred. Until then let us Catholics in the Latin Rite be sure to support and love our Byzantine Catholic brothers and sisters.

  • I would like to know what is the name of this icon of the Virgin that is featured in this video and where is it located. Could you give me the info, this icon is so beautiful.

  • I would like to know what is the name of this icon of the Virgin that is featured in this video and where is it located. Could you give me the info, this icon is so beautiful.

  • Beautiful song .

  • how dare people dislike this song i love it why cant everyone like it???

  • Truly moving. Where can I get the words to this beautiful hymn.

  • The song "Pure Virgin - Rosemary is a non-functional hymn composed by St. Nektarios of Aegina in the 19th century, during his tenure as director of the Theological School at Athens Rizario.

The tradition says the Virgin Mary to appear before the St. Nektarios of Aegina in the convent, and asks him to record on paper a special hymn, where angelic choirs were ready to sing. This hymn was "Pure Virgin - Despina."

  • im weeping

  • im philippine orthodox to

  • Beauty is where we perceive it.

  • Amen! I would recall an old Russian Orthodox proverb: A man can be damned alone by himself, but he can only be saved in the company of others. There's no salvation outside the Church. I too, once subscribed to the myth of "Jesus and me", until I asked the good Lord for illumination, and he led me to the Church founded by Christ and his Holy Apostles. In the West, we have the Roman Church, in the East, the Orthodox; pray God all will unite very soon in His One, Holy Catholic Apostolic Church.

  • Eυτυχισμένη ημέρα της γιορτής σε όλα τα Maria's, Mary's, Panayioti's, Despina's Marco's and Panayiota's! Kai χρόνια πολλά!

  • @Rahula don't condemn Prophet Muhammad, just buy translation of Quran....just read it first....

  • @emeritus511 I have read the koran. I have also read 'Why I am Not a Muslim' by Ibn Warraq. Muhhamad, did good to bring pagans into an understanding of One God. The problem is he did it through fear, torture and death! My friend, it is in the hadiths and the koran! Once one understands the Law of abrogation, everthing becomes clear!

  • @PrezBarkORama

Prez, you are preaching to the converted!

    Try visiting an Orthodox Liturgy,

"Again and again in peace, let US pray to The Lord..." and, "Let US commend ourselves, each other, and all OUR life unto Christ Our God!"

the ONLY time "I" is heard, is just before the whole body says "I believe in One God...etc"

    Peace. X X X

  • As a Roman Catholic I would like to say. God bless you our brave brothers and sisters living in the east, who deal with persecution we have not known, someday we all be reunited under Lord Jesus.

  • @cwoods102688 and to the Muslim. You cannot kill or render such an oppressive regime onto either the Orthodox or Roman church's that would extinguish our faith in God because he is the ruler of our faiths and cannot beat God.

  • @cwoods102688 Thank you my brother in Christ, not many people are willing to accept friendship between the Orthodox and the Catholic.

  • @cwoods102688 Amen

  • @cwoods102688 Amen

  • This is the most beautiful hymn I've ever heard. I love the icon as well. What choir sings this?

  • katherine3486 his name was Judei had lost him after getting beat up

  • To be a Christian is not a religion, it 's a RELATIONSHIP.

Orthodox is the correct way to execute that relationship as it has been revealed by Christ God, who, I agree, came to the religion of Judaism; But as it's author, He revealed what was meant.

Mohammed's "revelation" took him away from the revealed way, into heresy and so he began a religion in the place of Christ Jesus, Christ being The True Way!

Love, Peace and Blessings to ALL. X X X

P.S. Get out of the barn and stop snickering!

  • I pray that mary takes care of my lost baby boy

  • @MyGreenApplePhotos What is your baby's name?

  • @MyGreenApplePhotos Hey sorry for your baby, but i have to say i think you should approach Christ for things like that.

  • @InFideScientiam

And what harm is there in asking the blessed Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary to intercede with Christ for the protection of a lost child? Remember, our Lord commended her to us and we to her...

  • @colinpleach oh i agree with the Roman/Orthodox view of the Virgin Mary. It just seems by saying "I pray that mary takes care of my lost baby boy" seems a bit not Christ centered. As Christians, we are called to adore God, and rely on him alone. It's OK to have saints intercede for us, but by somehow relying on Mary to somehow take care of a baby...i don't know about that. Also, remember Jesus Christ is fully God, his intercession with the Father is on a completely different level than Mary's.

  • @InFideScientiam In real life, you can ask someone to help you: they can give food, clothes, etc. The same is for a saint. Even though we usually ask for intercession, they can still help us the way a normal person can. The communion of saints means the heaven does not separate men on earth from the Blessed. Of course, if they are acting by themselves to help us like a normal person, then it is God's intercession because God is working through them to do good. It is sort of circular no?

  • @Hitononasubi Losing a baby (by death or other) is such a dramatic and terrible experience. I can see where this person has wanted to cry out to Mary for her baby boy. But God will decide what happens to the boy, not Mary. Mary only offers her prayers to God...hoping that God will react to them. God will not do something that he does not will. Mary lies at the submission of God's will. So yes, it's fine to pray for intercession. But you should not "rely" on a saint, this is Christianity!

  • A general comment: If the Church in/of Rome is to survive the following centuries it needs a strong Orthodox Church/tradition in the East..more than it realises.... so maximum respect to the Orthodox Church! You wear and defend your religion proudly and I very much respect your traditions. God Bless from a half Slav RC Scot. Slavate Gospodi +

  • @InFideScientiam I try to be a religous person the best i can but i was raised to be against it. I am teh only religous person in my entire family (both sides)

  • The false "prophet" Mohammed offered not so much as a single shred of proof attesting to any miracle associated to him or his "ministry". He, like the Mormons, simply plagiarized from other existing religions; i.e., taking mostly from Christianity and Judaism, nary producing an original idea. Not surprisingly, the only means he had for propagating such falsehood was through force and violence, as most thinking individuals would reject such rubbish, if given the choice.

  • @MyGreenApplePhotos

God bless your son. The Panaghia is caring for him in her loving arms. You are not clear as to whether he is missing or has passed away, but in either case, do trust that he is in her perpetual care. Remember, you and she share the most poignant of commonalities. God bless you as well.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH: Who made you an expert on who is a faithful Christian??

And what are you (a Muslim) doing on a Christian(Orthodox) site and putting your two cents in? And your totally ignorant at that also. One thing you are right, there is a HUGE difference between Orthodox and Catholisism

  • @amalialovesicecream Thats right there a HUGE difference between the Catholicism and the Orthodox faith! They`ve changed all since teh schism

  • Im not even an orthodox, im Roman catholic but this was one of the most beautiful composions ive ever heard, im crying...

  • @lullulyn I cried the first time I heard Orthodox Chant, I'm not sure what kind of Catholic you are but there is a certain order in the universe and everything holy that man has participated in creating, I'm not sure what it is about Orthodox chant but as one of my friends put it, "it takes your insides and makes them clean"

  • What is the name of this particular beautiful icon of the theotokos? Who wrote the icon? or Where is it located/sold?

  • I like this Icon of Our Blessed Mother so much! Where can I get one like this?

And of course I like this beautiful hymn!

  • or can I get a photo or Holy Card?

  • Few other forces mimic the potent divisiveness of religious beliefs.

  • Sublime and divine! Leaves you speechless. Pity these chants are not appreciated nowadays by many of us.

  • This goes out to everyone: Whats with all the hate? This is not the way God wants his children to act. @NothingWithoutALLAH can say what ever he wants but we know the truth and he/she can't see gods light then thats their problem. So please stop all the hatred on this video, this is one of the most beautiful hymns of our faith so lets enjoy it and let it fill our bodies with the Holy Spirit and the light of Christ.

  • Beautiful! I love this chant! So simple and powerful!

  • Most holy Theotokos, save us!

  • The icon is beautiful, do you know where I can find this image?

  • Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful...listening to this brings the overwhelming feeling of rejoice brought from the voices praising God, almost like those of Angels. It makes me soo happy to see people given gifts from God [excellent voices, for example] and them using it to give back to Him. <3 God bless!

  • I love this hymn but my voice wont reach this high at times in this hymn. Does anyone know anything that cam help me ( anything that will help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

    Thanks

  • @Macedonianorthodox12

sing it in a different key. begin lower. X X X

  • this is so beautiful! ! ! ! ! one day the Hagia Sophia will be a church again.

  • @jerallovesyou

    Амин Боже Дај!

  • Thanks for sharing this! Impressive chant!

  • Thank you for posting this. It is one of my favorite hymns and I love hearing it done so well.

  • Most wonderful hymn to the Mother of God !

  • I am Byzantine Catholic...I just love the Byzantine hymns!

    This is my favorite

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

"He (Mohammed) passed his whole life in the deserts of arabia with the aim to proclaim islam and to abolish injustice."

    -

Then, he truly should be the great example for all muslims, especialy for arabs & turks. - To return back to their arabian deserts and asian wilderness, praise allah there, and do not show their ugly faces near the Europe ever again.

  • GUYZ THIS IS WONDERFUL , MOTHER MARRY PLZ MOTHER PRAY FOR ME CUZ I DONT DESERVE THE GOD JESUS CHRISTS LOVE .

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

bro u gotta work on your history. ur prophet mo was a student of Orthodox monks. heretic monks in the eyes of the greek orthodox but still christians. its not about the battles, its not about calture, and its not about ancient ideas. christanity teaches and preaches love and devine justice

  • @greek1manga1

Mohammeds complete life is noted in thousands of books. And all of those books+including non-muslims reasearches+kuran+the hadith of muhammed sav. all agree and prove that muhammed has never left arabia to move to some othodox monks. He passed his whole life in the deserts of arabia with the aim to proclaim islam and to abolish injustice. And this is history without any doubt.Islam is the religion which is sent to the humanity as mercy, blessing, boon by Allah.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH and why do we who are not muslim care? You can be what you want, and PEACEFULLY try to convince others islam MIGHT be the true fatih, but we Christians of the Roman and Orthodox Faith know the LAST TRUE Revelation of God came through the Incarnate Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ, True God and True Man. There is NO FURTHER revelation after Him.

  • @burkardhanis oh reallj and thats why your clerics did were waiting for the last prophet muhammed sav. after christ ? youre mislead and mistaken.Your bloodthirsty religion brought nothing but carnage and regression. The last revelation is Islam through muhammed. Moreover we accept torah and bible as former books of guidance who got later faked by your ancestors by pleasure and leisure as required.Anyone of you knows that there are reforms and distortions in todays bible.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Excuse me? Sorry to get involved in your and Burkardhanis's conversation, but I happen to also be Orthodox and we are very much a religion. If you really are a Muslim, then I don't see what you're doing trolling an Orthodox Christian video and talking about how YOU'RE faith is right. Clearly, we believe otherwise. So stop trying to cause conflict. Kyrie eleison.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Restore the Hagia Sophia to full Church status... then you will get the tolerance you seek. The small churches don't count if the #1 Cathedral of the Orthodox faith for a full millenia and then some remains a museam.

  • Amen, amen, amen!

  • @Lopezs777 Think we have conquered it so why should we give it you as a gift? are you completely disturbed or what.I think its a disaster that we cant use it as mosque and you talk shit like turning it into a church.FUCK OFF!!

The byzantine days are gone you retarded fool.Despite this you still have full religious rights unlike turks dont have in greece and other christian countries you fool!

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Full religious rights in Turkey? REALLY? Explain the Istanbul Pogrom of 1955. Explain the closing down of the Halki seminary by Turkish Authorities in 1971. Do a little of something called RESEARCH before you storm around saying that Turkey gives FULL religious rights to Christians. And I bet you that if Mecca was conquered by some Christian army and the Al-Masjid al-Ḥarām was turned into a church and then you come saying to turn it back into a mosque and I tell you to

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH "F off because we conquered it" you would simply say, "Ok I get it." Thats the problem with most of you Muslims. You don't give two damns about other religions and if you desecrate your holy places but do something to one of your holy places and suddenly the whole muslim world declares holy jihad.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH and lets face it, the ottoman days are gone as well and the byzantine legacy still lives on through Greece and the Eastern Orthodox Church.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

Admitting to a "might makes right" ethic is pathetic.

  • @Rahula

Fuck your mohamed, fuck this idiot religion that justs causes fanatics people...

  • @Loiginer

Why are you saying that to me? That makes no sense. I am not a Muslim, and I was attacking a particular Muslim mentality.

  • When you curse at other people, you're cursing at your lord Jesus Christ. Because we're images of God, when you curse at another human being, you're cursing at His image.

  • @d789b No, you are wrong. By your logic, when God commanded Joshua to kill the Cannanites, he was commanding him to kill God? Don't be silly. Your logic needs some work.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Greeks do not have full religious rights idiot. We are forbidden to proselytize and our Churches are turned into Museums even if they were never mosques. Also, Turks who convert to Christianity undergo severe persecution. A catholic priest was killed just a while ago in Turkey and a few years ago 2 Turkish converts to Christianity were murdered.

  • @AegeanKing all citizens of turkey are called "turk" so what you think all of them are truely turks ? You have enough crayz people in your land. Not to mention your action on cyprus where thousands of turks were killed besides. But you can not remember because it is inconvenient for you. Beside some individual cases you use to insult whole Turkey, you do not consider any of Turkey's supports. What you call "turning churches into museums" is for 450 years our property; we do not destroy it.

  • @AegeanKing Missionary work is a crime. And your people do exactly know what this means. Ever heard of missionaries who go to anatolia and abuse poor muslims belief by offering money and brainwashing ? This lead our people to hell and you do not have the right to lead them so. So leave your missionary crap out of my lands. Your fathers also went to america with the aim to do missionary work and actually destroyed, assimilated and extinguished natives' identity.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE: HAGIA SOPHIA WILL BECOME A CHRISTIAN CHURCH AGAIN IN OUR LIFETIME. BTW, THANKS FOR KEEPING IT FOR US THESE 555 YEARS.

  • @amalialovesicecream Well since you do not really believe in god and your nations are predominantly consisting of infidels and atheists you will not be able to have an effect on our actions ;) I see western visitors (or another name "christian" which has become a stereotype for western people) coming to hagia sophia but when you ask them, they are not interested in christianity anymore. Plus there is a huge difference between orthodox and catholic christians.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH 'Your nations are predominantly consisting of infidels and athiests' what has that go to do with anything, the growth of a belief or non belief in this case within a nation does not negate the other belief systems. Secondly the amount of people adhering and constituting a religion does not give credence to the veracity of that belief. Hence more believers does not make the belief any more true. 'A lie told often enough commonly becames truth.' This holds some credibiltiy.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Therefore my belief in God and my adherence to Christianity are not substianted upon the grounds of the amount of fellow believers, as that isn't indicative of it being truthful. Also your argument is pretty much contradictory in the sense that your arguing that secularization is on the increase in seemingly western/Christian countries yet the fact remains that Christianity is the biggest religion in the world. Bless all Christians. Bless the Orthodox. God Bless.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Wait--where exactly do you think I'm FROM, brother?

  • @SnickersInTheBarn

how you can tell that islam is not right ?

  • @sniperu2

Thats not what he said. This is not the place for others to advertise their religion. Thank you:)

  • @02kazak

this is not my religion this is god religion . im no god just a human

  • @sniperu2

okay so if the 'God' religion needs to be advertused, there r so many other places but this is an Orthodox Christian vid, incase u failed to notice!

  • @02kazak

hahaha Orthodox Christian is no more a religion , it is fake one my friend

  • @sniperu2

    then y r u here??

  • @02kazak

to listen to this great song , just love it and love marry mother of jesuss

  • @sniperu2 We Pray for you.

  • Have you ever heard of the Orthodox Study bible? You would be astonished over the things which you don't know about.

  • @SnickersInTheBarn I agree with you, Orthodox is very much a religion. Christianity is very much a religion. God Bless you and Orthodoxy.

  • @SnickersInTheBarn i totally agree with you

  • @SnickersInTheBarn I agree. By the way, whoever wrote the Koran was influenced by heretical Christian groups that had migrated to Arabia from the Byzantine Empire. It's clear as the book reflects many heretical doctrines about Christ that were popular at the time. For example, Sura 5:116 assumes that Christians viewed Christ and Mary as "gods." Some of the heretical movements proclaimed that Christ was not the logos, but a diety nontheless, and that Mary was also divine. Muslims are wrong.

  • @burkardhanis your " religion " is no longer a religion. The proper explanation and definition for it is vogue and religious fashion you always deform when necessary.

  • @burkardhanis AMEN Brother in Christ.! One day all shall know this so that JESUS name EVERY knee shall bow,on the earth and under the earth, and every tongue proclaim to the Glory of God, that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!! " ( Phillipians 2:10-11 which was written before the Koran HALEUJAH!!!

  • @greek1manga1 Check yourself first. You didn't even have the chance to compare theories to gain a healthy opinion. You should eventually learn to distinguish. Not whole christianity is wrong since its original version was sent by Allah&it still has some unaltered rules. But the fact that original christianity was touched and degenerated in early times(eg:during rom.&byzant.empire,councils of nicea, justinian I.several hundred bibles etc.)stays as a fact you got 2 regard. Still the will is yours.

  • THIS CHANT IS WRITTEN BY SAINT NEKTARIOS FROM AEGINA.

EVEN MUSLIMS RUN TO THE MOTHER OF GOD, PANAGIA, FOR HELP AND NOT TO THEIR SATANIC PSEUDOPROPHET MOHAMED OR VTHEIR SATANIC MULLAHS

  • Christianity made greeks stupid in my opinion. They had a way more intelligent way of living. But after they joined christianity which got faked by people they became part of this big fake. What brought christianity?Apart from millions of massacres?I can count some of them: There were intelligent romans who were not christian. But after christianity people have fallen into the darkest and bloodiest age.Any sensible man can realize this.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH Yeah, and Mohamedans STILL HOLD THE RECORD FOR SLAUGHTERS AND MASSACRES SINCE THE SEVENTH CENTURY A.D.!!! Your so-called "prophet" stole other mens' wives and even stole his daughter-in-law from his adopted son Zayd!!!

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

i was raised greek orthodox and i agree

many people who say they are christian had failed to realize what its truly about

i thought Jesus taught to love one another if theres anything i didnt mention im sure that would be the case too

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

    Idiot Muslim

You start to speak about Greeks and then you tell us about Latin-Catholic Crimes

    Muslim animal

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

BRO I GUESS UR A MUSLEM OR KINDA ,

IF NOT SO I BELIEVE UR ONE OF THOSE JEHOVAH WITNESSES OR MORMON OR KINDA ...

LISTEN TO THE CHANT AND MAY GOD JESUS CHRIST BLESS YA , AND I HOPE SAINTS PRAY FOR ME AND YA ...

  • @Arajack

Thank you may Allah bless me.BTW:I always turn off the sound when Im writing or when Im reading what you wrote.I never listen to this stuff.Maybe you ask now why Im here. The reason is the title of this video.I can assure you that mostly behind those titles are somehow verbal attacks, accusations against either islam or turks.Thats why...

Anyways Im neither jehowah neither mormon or something else. Now to greek1manga1.

  • I'm partly atheist, but this music brings peace and tranquility into me.Newermind, just enjoy it...

  • death to all infidels....

  • @tonybaxter2006

May God bless you away from hatred and the Devil! :)

  • It,s beatiful Icon, and the chant.

  • I also would like to know who the iconographer of the icon is or where this particular icon is located. It is lovely.

  • thank you for posting! It is a beautiful piece of music!

  • Altars in the Syrian Orthodox Church, which has the oldest liturgical tradition of all Apostolic traditions, are against the eastern wall.

  • Oh, the icon with the Theotokos is so beautiful, so sweat, I wonder who painted it, such a beautiful gift to draw/paint icons. Where can I print a copy for my wall?

  • Beautiful chant. BTW, N...W...A... fellow. You need to cool your heels a bit. Go to Sanli Urfa, stroll around the pools of fish, ponder that ALL things are of G-d...to include this byzantine f---, as you say. Purge yourself of pride and hate. Go back to Istanbul and visit Hagia Sophia, and imbibe the Wisdom.

  • @NothingWithoutALLAH

But you could not defeat Orthodoxy! This isn't about an empire. It's about giving glory to God. May God bless you and fill you with love for all mankind.

  • @linuxdave01

We never had the intension to erasa other peoples religion or beliefs. So they had the chance to keep ortodoxy. If we had bad intensions I can assure you that today you were not ortodox. The same goes for all ortodox who lived in the ottoman empire.

They were free and didnt get surpressed by turks.Unlike you, cause you tortured my people and massacred them.Daily we find mass graves were turks heads are choped off lying. This is evidence.

  • this is absolutely beautiful. thank you so much for sharing!!! God bless!!!

  • stop bickering this is a video for our Panagia Theotokos

  • @Speros11 God bless u for saying that :)

  • The majority of western european "latin/roman" altars in the oldest cathedals from before the 4th century to 14th century are freestanding. up against the wall was a development from the gothic period onward. a time which charecterized an estrangement from apostolic tradition. Many other older traditions were abandoned in the gothic period. Many Latin Catholic historians would make light of their importance, but others would say they are simply modernists.

  • When do we Orthodox get to have a council that declares our bishop to be infallible? The Catholics had one just 150 years ago :P

  • @MikhalisBramouell

Never because God did not give that authority to any of those who left Him, such as you.

  • At least my priest stands on the correct side of the altar... Yours used to as well, until 50 years ago. How come you guys are always changing the rules?

  • @MikhalisBramouell

In the West, facing a certain direction has always been a matter of discipline, rather than doctrine, allowing it to change. This is similar to the placement of the tabernacle, which used to be placed at the center of the altar, but in modern churches were placed to the side to allow for the easier celebration of pontifical Masses.

  • So if you have the freedom to just change whatever you please, how are you "Apostolic"?

We cannot change "whatever we please." Changing the direction of prayer doesn't change our doctrines or dogmas. The Russian Orthodox Church, for example, changed from the early two-toned vestments to vestments whose color depends on the liturgical season or feast as in the Roman Catholic Church. Will you claim the Russian Orthodox are not apostolic because they also changed their discipline?

  • It's quite a leap to compare Priests wearing different colors to Priests who no longer petition on behalf of the people as one of the people but instead "represent Christ." The angel burning incense before the altar in the Heavenly Liturgy is not representing Christ, and if he is, St John the Theologian did not care to point that out.

  • Dont argue with this Catholic guy. Your the third person he has argued with. Just leave him be. I am sick of seeing him post in an Orthodox trend. He has no life.

Keep in mind that many ancient churches were built such that the priest faced the people. Also note that in your example it's not the position of the priest that matters, but the faith of the believers. By faith we know the priest acts in persona Christi, not by his location in the church. Roman altars were traditionally against a wall, while Byzantine ones were free-standing; will you argue against the move toward free-standing altars in the West now too?

  • what a nice hymn! who's singing i wonder?

  • I love that picture of God Omnipotent with His Blessed Mother. I love Her sweet face, it is so beautiful.

  • Serch google for: "on sunday orthodox church eternal life" and read first article. There are some miracle stories there.

  • you stole this from me, brethren? But still glad to see it twice than once. I guess.

This is a non liturgical hymn. St. Nektarios said it himself.

  • ???????? stole? what? cmon its atribute to mary.

  • @byzantinechants

It is non-liturgical in the East. In the West, the Liturgy of the Hours is considered liturgy. You are correct only when considering an Oriental context, but not when considering an Occidental one.

  • glory to thee who is always watching over our church
