All this 3 250cc bikes, are 2stroke and lot of more hp compare to those 4stroke`s.. When you want a bike with small engien, it has to be a 2stroke. Faster acceleration, higher top speed and more fun for wheele`s :) The sad thing, they don`t produce this bikes anymore. They was produced from early 90`s to early 2000 so have to look for used once. You will smile :)
everyone who has a hyosung in the UK, get rid of it now!!! more trouble than the pile of poo is worth!!! barrus (the company who import it into the UK) will fudge you over as much as they can, they have had several recalls on the 250 and when i had a problem with one of the recalled parts which they didnt contact me to let me know about and blew up my engine it took for me to hint that I would sue em before they did anything and they still havent fixed the pile of s**t n its been 2 effin years!!
i recently bought hyosung gt250r (2011)....it is the best looking 250 around, its very fun to ride n i absolutely have no complains about its built quality...its an improved version of the old hyosung gt250r (shown above in the video)...its awesome...:)
I really dont have my mind yet aboy witch one the kawasaki for sure will last much longer but tha Hyosung will give me the true sport bike felling tha ninja its more like an ordinary naked dont have the sport bike position ! I really need is a test drive with both to see myself what will fit my profile !
Can anyone help me out here? I'm 17 and just moved to the states. Since getting a full drivers license would mean a whole year of driving around with a parent, I heard that you could get a motorcycle license at 17. The "M class"? Also, can you ride a 250cc with that? : )
@Plamen2007 you can ride any motorcycle with m1 license. 250cc are great beginner bikes. Easiest way to get your m1 license is to take the MSF course.
i've had my hyosung for about 3 years and nothing wrong with it i can easily do 170km on it doesn't over heat comfy ride can throw it into corners quite well and has a great note.
i ride with 2 mates and my little bro one rides a cbr250r 07 one rides a ninja 250r 10 and my bro rides a gs250 bandit how gets all the looks? me haha
Back in 2005, and some 2006 bikes did have the paint and rust issues, but Hyosung changed their paint process to powder coating. This process really doesn't allow for orange peeling, watch the review again and listen carefully when he said the GT250R actually out performed the Kawi and that the tires on the Kawi were almost dangerous.
The Ninja is made in Thailand, NOT JAPAN!!! I now own a NEW 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R and I have owned a Hyosung GT250R, and I also still own a Hyosung GT650. I would pick my Hyosung GT250R over this Ninja any day of the week.
The Ninja has extremely poor attention to detail. The paint looks like crap with major defects and missing clear coat, plastics don't line up right, and it lacks off the line power. I'm trying to see if some one will trade a Hyosung for this thing..
used Hyosung's are like 3 grand cheaper, perfect for first bike. mines an 06, still looking fantastic if you look after it. Definately not rubbish like he said.
@frank252 you can start on a 750 if you want. Its an easy way to injure yourself tryin to handle a bike like that as a newb. It would be safer to start on a 250R, plus its not as if a ninja isa snore to ride. Their pretty excitin.
they restrict your hp for being a starter? im wondering when they will do that here sounds like its going to be soon, good thing i already got my license
i'd take the hyo for money value, ninjas are just too overpriced for what they are, same with the little yamaha yzf r125, beautiful looking bike, but same price as a 250 ninja, i mean come on!! 125cc with same price of a ninja? fuck off!!
i have to disagree with his comments on the hyosung build quality. i have a 2005 650r and there isn't a spot of rust on it. still looks mint except for brake dust on the wheels. if you look at what the south koreans have done with their cars over the past few years, you can expect good things out of their bikes too.
@frank252 damn straight i learned on a 700 shadow on wet grass. it was like doing supercross with a cruiser.. it actually was supercross with a cruiser. wear a helmet and you will be fine. or do like myself did with none...

hey guys im very interested to get a ninja... is it 200cc or 250cc? how is it performing comparing to the honda NSR series.. ? sorry for the noob question because im still on process with bike training
well theres a 125, 150 and a 250cc nsr. The NSR is a 2 stroke. any 2 stroke bike will out perform a 4stroke if they are the same sized bike. The nsr however is starting to get old and the latest model is i think 2002. so if u r buying 1 be carefull when some 1 says 5000km because normally they just rebuilt the engine. and an engine rebuild is normally JUST the engine so all the other parts are still really old. the 125 nsr will have similar performance to the ninja 250
I have a 2011 Ninja....my first bike...and it's an amazing bike that may look intimidating at first if your a beginner but once you get going, you'll get comfortable almost right away. Only thing you have to worry about is if your bike is cold, you have to use the choke lever but other than that con....it's amazing so far.
i bought 07 hyosung as my first bike and its freaking awesome guys....they have everything, better looks than ninja, big tyres, good handling and braking......don't listen to their reviews, its amazing 250cc bike
y do reviews allways say things about the STOCK tyres??? they r not going to last the life time of the bike. they will be changed in a few months and u can put what ever u want on them so they r not important in review anyone agree?
Ninjas have been around longer. They have a good rep. They are reliable and dependable. I personally am in favor of the ninja. I would recommend it only because I know it has a pretty good rep especially the 250. The Hyosung is not as reputable and have to build their fan club. Everyone has to start from the bottom and compete with those at the top. Who knows they might come out at the top someday. For now I will stick with my ninja.
What is it with MCN that always favor Kawasaki products.I do know Japs are better but the Korean's are not bad either. They have sold the GT250 here in India since 2004 and they haven't been problems with the bikes.Availability of spares are the only concern here.
In New Zealand we are allowed to ride any 250 on a 'learners licence' which gained by doing 10mph round some cones in a car park and a theory test. Now I ride a 1992 Honda CBR 250 which is 45 BHP stock.
@gnsgml11 2009+ Hyo... it is EFI( electronic fuel inected i believe it stands for) 2008 is just FI... Ninja doesnt have FI...... Hyo looks and performs better. I dont know what year is the HYO is this video btu i believe its an 08. But i would go for the 09 Hyo or 10 if you have the money. If you dont go for HYO.. But dont take my word, go test both of them, which ever you feel better with get it. Both are great bikes
Dont let this guy put you off the hyosung guys, its a great bike and last for years and its alot better than the ninja. Now im not saying the ninja is shit, cause its a good bike aswell but the hyosung is just alot better.
I have a 2007 GT250R and there isn't a spot of rust on it. I bought it as a leftover in 2008, and it's been perfect all along. I like it a lot more than the ninja. The ninja just seems like you're less a part of the bike because you have to reach so far forward for the handlebars. The hyo just feels right, not to mention the fact that it's much bigger, meaning I can use it for longer before I have to upgrade.
I was just wondering the year of these two bikes? I'm looking to buy my first bike and i've heard the same sort of thing about the GT's but got the impression that the rusting etc was as the man in this video spoke about.. but only for models built around the 2006 mark??
i think the hyosung looks nicer just because i dont like the front of the ninja but i'd get the ninja just because it'd be more reliable and because of the rep of the company :D
MCN is paid by Kawisaki, biased review. I have a 2007 hyosung gt250r, 7000km, not one problem. Ninja is a dinky little thing. GTr is full size and way sexier.
Tell me about it. Our prices are about the same as yours, but then the finnish government adds a vehicle tax which on a 5000 euro bike is about 2500euro...
dud's i need to base my selection on looks im a beginner and when it comes to bikes i dont know who's better, and frankly dont care just want to ride for this summer, so which should i pick???
@FireNinjaBlade its pretty easy if you already have your class c license but It depends on what state you’re in. the smart thing to do is take the msf course first. In Cali its about $150. After that it’s just about going to the dmv and paying their $26 fee and taking the written test.
@rbloch23 Do you post this same comment on every video? You've got to get a life man! Or if you must live on youtube the try being creative. Wow....the time you must spend on watching videos of this bike..... just wow.
Hi MCN just wonderin how much a full bike licence is because i turned 17 about 4 months ago and got myself an Aprilia Rs 125, 3 weeks ago and i would like to upgrade to a Kawasaki Ninja 250R for when im 18 years old
i've tried both..hyosung..less power then N250r,v twin..5 speed..but look more aggresive.N250r 6 speed,more power..still beautiful tough(4 me)..max size for N250r rear tyre is 150
or get yourself a honda hornet 250 - 45bhp (will trash them both), better road holding, better build quality, comfier (bigger frame, better seating position) and its got a 180 wide rear tyre!!
I had my 08 ninja 250r for 2 years then bought a Hyosung Gt250 and it is a much better bike. Sorry for hurting the feelings of you internet motorcycle pro's who have prob never riden either machine. I wish I test drove my Hyosung before I bought that ninja. Bottom line is the Hyosung Rides better.
korea is a modern country that makes great quality products why the fuck cant they get a bike right, i mean there is no excuse for shitty build quality when you compete with the japanese. if i bought a hyosung it would because it was a grand off and it was badged so no one could tell i was riding a pos
@LouieTheGamer I totally disagree with that statement. my first bike was a hyosung GT650R and I had it 3 years before I traded it for my current bike (gixxer 1000) That was a great bike, no issues at all the entire time I owned it except the battery died once. but thats cause it sat up all winter without me cranking it.
Hyosung is shipped to europe and the name is Suzuki Hyosung So Even you say That hyosung is a Chinese shit, suzuki is as well. Hyosung Frames are made whit suzuki licence and basically hyosung is a suzuki....
Hyosung started by building bikes off Suzuki licenses. They've got their own R&D dept. now and they're not Suzuki even if they use the same distributors and dealers in Europe.
@5959512 Don't know about Europe/UK, but here in Canada the Honda CBR 125 is popular in cities for commuting etc. It'll go on the highway as well (top speed apx 140Km/h), but I don't know anyone who would want to do any amount of inter-city travel on one. Over here you use the training company's bikes to do your motorcycle course/test, and the CBR 125 is the sport bike most offer.
@rickadlib cbr 125 are good, but IMO its a bit too slow acceleration wise, its like a scooter-fun, but only for awhile. I would reccomend the 125 to either someone who is terrified of bikes but WANTS to ride very much. Or ide get one for someone like my girlfriend since ide be too scared shed crash a 250 and get hurt
I own the zx6r, and ive ridden hysoung and kawa too, but with year of experience ,i can tell the a difference, kawa 250r is much way better then hysoung, better accalerate better handling, everything....
@gtq838 Actually Honda are producing some smaller cc bikes in Thailand. the 125cc & 150cc are the ones I know about. Though on the official site you can't find anything about them.
Non-the-less I heard they're as high quality as the rest of the honda's machines.
when you say "after a couple of years the hyosung is gonna fall apart..." you confirm that you don't have a clue of what you are talking about. Hyosung makes incredibly reliable bikes, just like kawasaki, but you are actually just alienizing the "newcomer" because you aren't familiar with it. The Hyosung will pay back just as well as the Kawa while selling it (if not even better). Dunno where the rust comes from, maybe your own head? Good test though!
Kawasaki's resale is much higher than same year Hyosung... Did you even bother doing some research? Look at asking prices on Kijiji. Look at what dealers are selling their previous year models from. I'm in Toronto, you can get a brand new 2009 Hyo for $3,000. Good luck getting a used 2009 Ninja for that.
I actually did do some research. I don't doubt that you're right when speaking of vehicles in Toronto, but as I come from Finland, I think that I have more reliable knowledge about the vehicles over here. Nevertheless, in Finland an almost new hyo costs about 5000-7000 euros, a kawa about the same. The prices in different countries varies, though.
Yeah, I'm in Toronto and my 2008 Hyo GT250R was $2800 used last summer (quick sale). Seems like it's a little harder to resell because they're less well known, but riders seem to have little trouble reselling the Hyosung for almost what they paid.
@compri Power Output: 21.5kW (28.8hp) @ 10000rpm, although on the site of my local dealer is posted to be 36hp @ 10500 rpm - not sure if it's true
Btw Hyosung comes with 2 year warranty (no mileage limit), while the kawasaki with just one ... though it seems all korean cars/motocycles come with longer warranty than its competition.
I'm too considering buying one of the two bikes. Strange thing is that with almost the same MSRP our local dealers have ~40% diff in price -not in Kawasaki favor! :)
@akamburov thanks for the info, i already buyed the ninja i think i'm gonna be pleased when all i hear is good things. though the hysung does look a little better.
@akamburov thx, i live in belgium so that's where i bought it and i got it for 4300 or so discount included without discount most dealsers ask around 4700 but you always get it if your smart and you order early.
I wish they would have kept testing the Hyo for some more time, mine is 3 years old already and it sure didn't fell apart like they have predicted in the video. This test is pretty unfair to the Hyo which is a very nice machinery bu the way (not only because I have one)...
@edwardyourlord2 it's a small bike so you will have a small loss in speed, but it will make it beautifull for sure :) we are talking about the rear tire, it should not be bigger than 140,then bigger we have problems :)
Kawasaki it is.

In New Zealand we are allowed to ride any 250 on a 'learners licence' which gained by doing 10mph round some cones in a car park and a theory test. Now I ride a 1992 Honda CBR 250 which is 45 BHP stock.

i'm deciding on getting my first bike. which one out of the two is the best guys?
gnsgml11 9 months ago
@gnsgml11 2009+ Hyo... it is EFI( electronic fuel inected i believe it stands for) 2008 is just FI... Ninja doesnt have FI...... Hyo looks and performs better. I dont know what year is the HYO is this video btu i believe its an 08. But i would go for the 09 Hyo or 10 if you have the money. If you dont go for HYO.. But dont take my word, go test both of them, which ever you feel better with get it. Both are great bikes

I have a 2007 GT250R and there isn't a spot of rust on it. I bought it as a leftover in 2008, and it's been perfect all along. I like it a lot more than the ninja. The ninja just seems like you're less a part of the bike because you have to reach so far forward for the handlebars. The hyo just feels right, not to mention the fact that it's much bigger, meaning I can use it for longer before I have to upgrade.
urquhart77 10 months ago
I was just wondering the year of these two bikes? I'm looking to buy my first bike and i've heard the same sort of thing about the GT's but got the impression that the rusting etc was as the man in this video spoke about.. but only for models built around the 2006 mark??
kinga23metro 10 months ago
i think the hyosung looks nicer just because i dont like the front of the ninja but i'd get the ninja just because it'd be more reliable and because of the rep of the company :D

MCN is paid by Kawisaki, biased review. I have a 2007 hyosung gt250r, 7000km, not one problem. Ninja is a dinky little thing. GTr is full size and way sexier.

@FireNinjaBlade its pretty easy if you already have your class c license but It depends on what state you’re in. the smart thing to do is take the msf course first. In Cali its about $150. After that it’s just about going to the dmv and paying their $26 fee and taking the written test.

Hyosung started by building bikes off Suzuki licenses. They've got their own R&D dept. now and they're not Suzuki even if they use the same distributors and dealers in Europe.

5959512 1 year ago
@5959512 a 125 which in the UK is what you're restricted to on a learner license
leapoffaith20 1 year ago
@5959512 Don't know about Europe/UK, but here in Canada the Honda CBR 125 is popular in cities for commuting etc. It'll go on the highway as well (top speed apx 140Km/h), but I don't know anyone who would want to do any amount of inter-city travel on one. Over here you use the training company's bikes to do your motorcycle course/test, and the CBR 125 is the sport bike most offer.
rickadlib 11 months ago
@rickadlib cbr 125 are good, but IMO its a bit too slow acceleration wise, its like a scooter-fun, but only for awhile. I would reccomend the 125 to either someone who is terrified of bikes but WANTS to ride very much. Or ide get one for someone like my girlfriend since ide be too scared shed crash a 250 and get hurt
AlexTrebicki 11 months ago

@gtq838 Actually Honda are producing some smaller cc bikes in Thailand. the 125cc & 150cc are the ones I know about. Though on the official site you can't find anything about them.
Non-the-less I heard they're as high quality as the rest of the honda's machines.
akamburov 1 year ago
when you say "after a couple of years the hyosung is gonna fall apart..." you confirm that you don't have a clue of what you are talking about.
MsThruster 1 year ago
@MsThruster
WickedCuba 1 year ago
@WickedCuba
MsThruster 1 year ago
@MsThruster
Jesus u guys are getting raped in finland! u can buy it cheaper in the uk its £4,500 new so like 5200 euros (kawasaki)
pageavenue 10 months ago
@WickedCuba
Yeah, I'm in Toronto and my 2008 Hyo GT250R was $2800 used last summer (quick sale). Seems like it's a little harder to resell because they're less well known, but riders seem to have little trouble reselling the Hyosung for almost what they paid.
rickadlib 11 months ago

how much kw is the hysonung??
compri 1 year ago
@compri Power Output: 21.5kW (28.8hp) @ 10000rpm, although on the site of my local dealer is posted to be 36hp @ 10500 rpm - not sure if it's true
Btw Hyosung comes with 2 year warranty (no mileage limit), while the kawasaki with just one ... though it seems all korean cars/motocycles come with longer warranty than its competition.
I'm too considering buying one of the two bikes. Strange thing is that with almost the same MSRP our local dealers have ~40% diff in price -not in Kawasaki favor! :)
akamburov 1 year ago
@akamburov thanks for the info, i already buyed the ninja i think i'm gonna be pleased when all i hear is good things. though the hysung does look a little better.
compri 1 year ago
@compri That was fast! :) Have a nice ride!
Btw if it isn't a secret, in which country you bought it, and for how much?
because I've noticed that dealers of Kawasaki in all of Europe are pumping the price up, so it's like ~4000-4300 $ MSRP => ~5000 Euro retail price.
The Hyosung has about the same MSRP (~4000$), and the retail price is about ~3500 Euro, which you see is quite the difference :)
akamburov 1 year ago
@akamburov thx, i live in belgium so that's where i bought it and i got it for 4300 or so discount included without discount most dealsers ask around 4700 but you always get it if your smart and you order early.
