I'm aware that raw meat is perfectly healthy for dogs, but it's disgusting (Looks, smells gross.). Dogs ARE carnivores by nature, but it IS possible to have a healthy, vegetarian dog. Now, i'm not saying vegetarian dog's are more healthy than carnivorous ones, I just think if it's possible to be healthy with out meat, why support the corrupt industry?
@piepeace I understand and can respect your opinion. Dogs are made to eat meat, i just suggest for those who feed there dogs raw food that they are fed meat from free ranged farms.
@agarcia2995 Same, but it doesn't change that dogs on kibble are amazing dogs and can still be healthy, this videos name is a rather harsh statement to make and rather hollow...
Kibble doesn't kill dogs, it only makes them slightly less active and have dirty teeth...
Some people cannot afford raw, I cannot find enough cheap meat to stay on a constant raw diet...
Don't bash people who don't feed raw, very few have time and money, and harassing them for the small benefits is rude and immature...
I suppose all those puppies on kibble are fake? Give me a break, over half of the champion contest dogs in this world are on kibble, those REAL hunting dogs, REAL cattle dogs....
This is the most BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHIEST thing in the world!! Warms my little Dog Behaviour Expert Heart to see this, keep it up- and screw all the ignorant morons who have no idea how to care for and fulfill a dog :)
before i started feeding my dog raw meat she had a sore on her lip and a bald patch on her leg but after a month the sore and bald patch went away. she looks much healthier now. :)
Dogs never eat veggies or fruit in nature. They will never touch a prey's stomach they always eat around it.If you really think your dog needs veggies which they dont then mix in oat grass with there food
@3909clancy They eat a little bit of veggies in the wild. Dogs eat grass all the time. As for not eating the stomach, usually critters in the wild go for the soft stuff first. And if they will eat the whole dead critter, stomach included as much as possible.
@godsfiddler No they actually rarely if ever eat the stomach of any prey and you can look that up for yourself. All dogs are descended from wolves. It you want your dog to have veggies feed them oat grass they eat no other veggies ever.
the digestive tract of a dog will be just fine utilizing the bacteria and enzymes produced by eating raw meat.
Grains, of any kind, will only make up 2% of a wild dogs diet. ingestion is mostly by accident when tearing through the stomach of their prey. their source of energy comes from fat and protein, again, they are carnivores. there is no carbohydrate loading for carniv's.
there are also much more suitable sources for fiber. fruits or veggies would be naturally consumed.
@smilediet Actually, I found that raw meat is about as cheap as grocery store kibble. As for time, Yes, a good week or two of reading is needed, but other than that, it's just a matter of pulling meat out of the freezer, letting it thaw, and feeding the dogs. All kibble is processed, so it's not nearly as nutritious as raw meat.
It has been my experience that feeding raw is cheaper than buying kibble even when I include in the fact that I buy free range, grain fed meat from whole foods stores and farmers markets.
I can feed my four beagles and spend maybe $20 a month. On high quality, grain free premium pet food I was spending $40-$50 every month.
it is cheaper to feed fresh. i feed four cats and two dogs for about the same price you feed your beagles. we cant get free range meats where iam, but even on feed lot meats they are so much healthier then they would be on dry kibble! we made the switch from kibble two years ago and it was amazing how our animals health changed, and everyone raves about how soft, shiny and clean smelling their coats are:D
that is wonderful that you feed them raw diet (chicken). My dog has been on raw diet for 6 months and she started at 6 months old (she is 1yrs old now). It is so much healthier for them. KUDOS TO YOU!!!
its better then buying dog food that had a long list of by product and ingredients that you wouldn't eat or have your kids eat , since in so many bags of dog food in almost all bags of dog food by have by products , i pick raw meat any day over by products
Raw meat is really good for them, i how ever don't let my dogs eat the bones cause i have large dogs and i don't want a bone to get stuck in their throat .. but my dogs are stronger . more healthy and happier then ever now that they eat raw meat , my dogs coat and skin looks and feels amazing and the other show homes i know all do the same thing for their show dogs and puppies
let me educate the "ignorant" regarding salmonella.. also please do some research google regarding dog digestive system and you will understand. You are using human digestive system versus carnivores animal (wolf). If you were to breed a dog to a wolf.. their offsprings will be fertile. which means.. they are close 99.5% to the wolf. In the wild, wolf do not get salmonella.. Also, dog digestive system is not like human. We have a LONGER digestive system which harbors salmonella.

Ya, animals like dogs are not supposed to eat meat! They can only eat dog food. If you feed that dog stuff other than dog food and dog treats, the dog will get sick and throw up, plus it is very unhealthy for them.
what do you think those canines are for? they're for ripping, crushing, and tearing meat off the bones. feed them what they would find in the wild. not kibbles.
It is obvious that you have done no research on dog food or dog nutrition.Raw food is the natural diet for dogs.Dogs in the wild eat raw meat.Dogs have been fed raw meat for thousands of years.Commercial dog food has only been around for 80 yrs.The digestive system of the dog is different to ours, and allows them to eat raw meat.Read about the subject. You could start with "Real Dogs Don't Eat Kibble!" which explains what foods are appropriate, what foods are not appropriate and why.
Feeding raw chicken is a perfectly acceptable practice. Dogs have eaten raw for thousands upon thousands of years, and have stronger stomach acid that can combat the bacterias that would harm humans.
R U stupid guy? What the hell do you think dogs ate before we domesticated them...?? you think there was a majical tree that dropped 2/12 cups of kibble per day into a bowl for them??
@waterkeeper03 they are carnivores with omnivore tendencies..
theyve been domesticated for a long time
i agree that they dont need CORN cuz corn is bad
but brown rice contains vit B complex its also a complex carb for sustained energy and beneficial fiber which helps maintain a healthy digestive tract
Actually, pets do way better and are much healthier on a raw diet, then commercial kibble, because companies put in so much grain and crap to get your dog sick. Companies don't care about your dog's healthiness.
I do not breed Papillons because I admit I would never be able to part with the puppies. These pups belong to my best friend, a top papillon breeder, and yes, she educates the new owners and requires that they feed the raw diet and that they take the pups to holistic or homeopatic vets. She stays in touch with them, sees them on occasion at "play days" and keeps up with them. That is what you call a "responsible" breeder.
I also saw the video that you meantioned. I bothered me also. But my dogs get raw chicken, beef, venison, or rabbit that I can get at the store. Mostly it is ground meat and I mix veggies with it. But they also need meat with bone so that is why I also feed raw chicken necks, etc.
I have problems with the bacteria and blood and stuff from the chicken bone on their fur. Especially with my Cavalier King charles spaniel since she has huuuge ears, it gets all over her. It;s really hard to wash her or even wipe her twice everyday and then the stuff gets on the kids.
My question/comment, is about bacteria multiplyiing on the beds and floors. The dogs are eating on some kind of fabric mat it looks like. What about this? It seems really germy and dangerous. And after the dogs have eaten raw meat, is bacteria all over their fur?
I fed my dog raw meat, but got paranoid about that so now only give it to him outside in summer.
The puppies are in a crate and those are crate mats. The mats are washed every day. Adult dogs are fed the raw bones in their crates for the same reason. The ph level in dogs digestive systems handle any salmonella that may be on meat and their digestive system digest their food very fast. That is why dogs/cats can eat raw meat. I invite you to get a copy of "Real Dogs Don't Eat Kibble!" so that all of this is explained to you, as well as the book will help you get started with the raw diet.
The live salmonella and other bacteria from the meat ends up ON THE MAT AND FUR. It hasn't passed through the dog's digestive system, and it could be transmitted to humans just by handling the dogs or their mat.

My cat died because of raw feeding as she got giradia, salmonella and worms by feeding them raw. I learned it the hard way, there is nothing better then kibbles for pets.
I'm very sorry to hear about the death of your cat. But raw food is not the cause of Giardia. There are two ways that cats get Giardia, one is by drinking water contaminated with animal waste. Also, they can infect each other(fecal-oral route).A healthy cat's digestive system is designed to handle salmonella. A cat who is in a weaken state would be susceptible to fleas(that
would cause tapeworms) and salmonella. Raw meat does not cause worms.
Agreed. I have never seen healthier cats then those fed raw diets. Working at a vet clinic, I saw many sick cats, and sadly, the vast majority of cats brought in with chronic diseases acquired these maladies from being fed processed diet. Through my rescue efforts I have fed over 300 cats and kittens raw diets, so my experience with a variety of cats isnt lacking. Ive seen cats of all ages, breeds and background, improve drastically when changing from processed diets to raw.
Great to see that your puppies loves the raw food. I have feed raw for two years now and tomorrow I am starting the new litter of cats on chicken meat.

SOME DOGS CAN DO RAW
others cannot, i agree that raw dog food is great
but many dont have the time nor the money
theyre are some dog foods out therre that do cater to dogs needs and cat foods that are beneficial
you gotta find them and do research on what dogs/ cats need in an healthy diet
i agree with a raw diet
list of good food companies.. a lot of dogs do amazing on these .. they are premium high quality human grad, no fillers no by products amazing stuff
