Industry was a failure, but that is not entirely the fault of the left. Calcutta's main industry was jute while the raw materials came from East Bengal. After partition, the raw materials stopped. Industry was a failure, but that is not entirely the fault of the left. Calcutta's main industry was jute while the raw materials came from East Bengal. After partition, the raw materials stopped. Many Bihari and Oriya settlers became jobless but they stayed on. On top of that we have illegal immigrants coming in from Bangladesh and Tibet every year. We have no land to build industries. Of course, millitant communism was partly responsible but they are not same as the mainstream left parties.

India considers Russia as its genuine friend. Most Indians wish Russia well. The problem is PRC - PRC armed an unstable Pak with nukes, and has expansionist ideas. It claims some tract of India's land, and does not recognize two out of 28 Indian states (Sikkim, Arunachal).
India also does not have a permanent UNSC seat, and has not fully weaponized its nukes. Until then, it unfortunately has to accommodate western interests.
Eventually, I believe India will side with Asian powers.

I am aware of the Turkish genocides in Armenia, although I didn't realize that they did it in Bulgaria too.
Yes, there was a genocide in Pak too. Pak was only 80% Muslim in 1947, but 98% Muslim now. The BD war was one of the major genocides of the 20th century.

Turkey is a very cruel state - it committed genocides on Armenians(1915-17), Assyrians(small Christian people, 1916), Bulgarians(1913) and Greeks(1919-21) and is currently oppressing Kurds, who are an Indo-European people. What is remarkable is while everyone knew about Saddam's atrocities against the Kurds, Turkey was an invaluable Western ally.
It was only after it opposed the American invasion of Iraq that suddenly newspapers were talking about Turkish atrocities against them. The Western grip on the media is clear.
I don't want POK to integrate with India though. It'll create riots and a lot of violence in India. All are actually better with where P.O.Kashmir is. (Other Indians will differ here.)

Well, India likes Russia and considers it a valuable friend. PRC however gave an unstable Pak nukes, and does not even recognize two Indian states (Sikkim, Arunachal) out of 28. China wants to be Asia's only power. Not India, not Japan. So the onus is on China to make its first move to align with India.
Let PRC start recognizing Sikkim & Arunachal as legitimate Indian states, and support India's legitimate claim to a permanent UNSC seat!

Probably there is a compromise - PRC recognises both states and India recognises Taiwan and Tibet as an integral part of PRC and expulses Dalai Lama. This should improve the relations, hopefully PRC ceases cooperation with PORkistan(a learned this from another Indian elsewhere :) ). Actually, why do Indians use US syntax such as recogniZe (British English recogniSe), this does not please me, although I am no English?
