Feel it Feel inside the atoms where the science breaks down Feel inside the atoms where the science breaks down If you don't believe in love You'd have to make it up You'd have to make it up You'd have to make it up What I have here in my hand Is like faith but not faith What I have here in my hand This is what I feel for you What I have here in my hand Is like knowing but deeper It's why I am here It's why I am here
What I have here in my hand Is like faith but not faith For those without faith also have What I have here in my hand What I have here in my hand Is like feeling but deeper It's why I am here What I have here in my hand Is knowledge without proof What I have here in my hand This is what I feel for you It's why the earth is alive It makes electricity work And fire dance in the sky..
Great Steve Hogarth and his volume knob issues, but, being the man with class that he is, he chuckled and so did we. No biggie. Pete, however, for those who aren't musicians and might've not noticed, sounds like he learned this arpeggio technique from "Blackbird", of which they have also recorded a live version, and it sounds AS GOOD as Paul McCartney's version.
THIS is a band us versatile/intelligent rock musicians should learn from!
I can't help but to have a little chuckle at H's bass faux pas, forgetting to make sure the volume knob was turned up. I've done that a few times myself during shows, then I would get the knowing, sly little grins from the other band members afterward. Embarrassing, but still funny!
This is an amazing footage! Pete Trewavas is not only a great bassist but a really good guitarist! Did Steve Hogarth improvise on the bass on the spot? If he did then that's amazing! It is not easy to sing and play the bass, especially if one is not truly a bass player. Here manages to pull off everything really well.
ELP put out 3 or 4 great albums in the early 70s like Tarkus, Brain Salad Surgery, and Trilogy. Everything else they've done since then is total garbage.
In my country Marillion (like loads of excellent musicians) aren't very much known. Misplaced Childhood was such a hit in Europe that we got it too (and I loved it), but after that... nothing else! Thanks to the internet, I'm catching up on more than 20 years of brilliant music I've missed! But I'm afraid the only chance I've got of seeing them live is through YouTube and dvds, so... keep on posting/making them. Thank you.
Is there a more complete band around? Nah. great music, great gigs, great humour and an affinity to the fans that's second to none. A beautiful song done with their usual aplomb.
A great vid of an extrodinary band who just keep on going and reaching new hieghts with every album, aswell as showing that special relationship with there fans
This is totally AWESOME, sends shivers down my spine, from this starting announcment till the end. "Standing streching every nerve ... " :oO Thanks to u guys for that music!
This song is amazing. This is the SOUND that marillion injected inside me when I was growing up and never left. Mister Hogarth on the bass guitar, Rothery's picking and the melody when the whole band starts playing.... the strange harmony in the end of the song with kellys strings... this is AMAZING music. please keep playing this live.
I really like this song. It was such a fantastic gig and I'm so glad we're getting a dvd with such good quality in both the sound and the visuals. Top notch!
All I can say is Steven Hogarth never ceases to amaze me!!!

Heh, volume knob is quite a bijatch sometimes :D.
The similiar thing happened to Mark as well, check out Marbles on the Road Bloopers video.
Btw, brilliant performance. As always in case of Marillion.

Saw this played at the Weekend in 03' when they first played it. Epic song akin to Beautiful, but obviously with that post Marbles Marillion sound.
pythag123 2 years ago
...This song wasn't played until 2007, and it can't have the "Post Marbles" sound if it was first played in 2003 as you said.

No they played it at that weekend, 2003, it wasn't finished yet though, same with ocean cloud.

but this particular song is fucking BRILLIANT.

Overall, I wasn't too impressed either. But the album definitely has its moments. Somewhere Else, Faith and The Wound are great in my opinion :)
