Take a look at some of the aerial surveys of Canada's coastal islands and you see thousands of square miles of deforestation. Hilltops and valleys look like gravel pits. The rain washes the topsoil down. This has got to stop. Fallers, you need to find another way to make a living.

ha ha pretty humurous to cut a tree that holds more carbon than an entire acre of 50 year old stands. look i'm not saying don't log because thats stupid!! but whats even stupider is cutting large trees (anything over 150 yrs.) because for one there really hard to grow and take areally long time, but because there are plenty of smaller unhealthy forests to cut. but that would be difficult and make less money so why do that? people who cut old growth are greedy and fuckin lazy

@constipatedkangaroo a mature tree will hold the same carbon whether it's standing in the woods or part of someones home. what is important is removing carbon from the atmosphere in the first place, and younger vigorously growing trees do that best!
