  • Great job Grandma! Would love to be at your dinner - sounds yummy!

  • @thegentlementor Thank you!! It was delish!!

  • Grandmas ans moms are always the best cooks! :-)

  • @ElectroCat08 That's love right there!! : )

  • im watching this video and im in Texas

  • she's so cute...i miss my nonna :(

  • So sweet.. Thanx :)

  • can not even remember the recipie is this an Altimerzs video?

  • @cupcake1556 Not even funny. This is just a video for my family -- not as a recipe for you. And, by the way, she is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's -- so, your comment is in very poor taste. Go troll somewhere else.

  • @leahthegeek BELLA TUA NONNA!! THIS MADE ME hungry, the meatballs look VERY GOOD! BUON NATALE!!

  • @barberof1965 Grazie...grazie!! xoxox

  • @cupcake1556 Why the hell would you write something like that, you disrespectful lowlife! You must not like yourself very much, because judging from the comments you leave on other peoples' videos ("you shame your family's honor", "Get a haircut you occupy wall streeter", "Mikey we know that you are still scoring dope from Red's. You drug fiend...") you just have absolutely NOTHING nice to say. Like leah said, GO TROLL SOMEWHERE ELSE, loser.

  • @thethugyone You made my day...thank you for sticking up for my grandma. : )

  • @leahthegeek Ur welcome :) And thanks for subscribing to my channel! I watched all your videos and I absolutely LOVE ur grandma! She reminds me of my grandmom and soooo many other old school italians back where I'm from in south philly! I wish you and your family the best holiday and a great new year!!!

  • @thethugyone I receive numerous complaints from people like you. My comments are true and appropriate. This woman does have Alzheimers, her grand-daughter acknowledged this in her comments to me. Mikey Tuttle is a drug fiend. The arab man is disrespectful to Islam and his family for being like you a homosexual.

  • @cupcake1556

    A-HOLE!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting, I miss my Nonna, she past in 2000, so you brought back some wonderful memories for me!!!

  • @nahpoli It's comments like this that make me appreciate her even more. I know someday she'll be gone, too -- and I know watching these videos will be treasures to me.

  • Adorable!

  • @GeorgiaPeach87 Thanks! She's sweetie!

  • do you know if she added any oil to the pan, or it it stricktly meat juices? they look yummy! thank you grandma! i wish i would have recorded mine that is such a good idea.

  • @ras12088 She used a drop of extra virgin olive oil -- and then just let the fat cook the rest. : )

  • she's a cutie tho!! What time is dinner?

  • @gslsss 5 years ago. : )

  • onion? Nah!!!

  • @gslsss Oh stop...lol....onions make everything better!! : )

  • @PeteBell76 thanks for watching -- and thanks for the comment! She is such a little honey.

  • Respond to this video... Thanks for watching the video! She's such a sweetheart. I know I'm going to miss her one day.

  • What a sweet lady, and some great looking food. Thanks for posting.

  • @manuecat Thank you so much for watching and commenting! She loves being a YouTube starling! : )

  • @manuecat Awww -- thanks so much! She loves all of these comments!

  • She is adorable.. I wish my grandma was as sweet

  • @nycpara897 Thank you, darlin'! She is the sweetest!

  • hmm...why do you put meatballs in gravy?

  • @pk33617 "Gravy" is another word for sauce.

  • @leahthegeek wow, thats new for me! i was imagining gravy like for turkey...thanks for enlightening me =)

  • @pk33617 Haha! Google it!! : ) It's true!! Too funny -- I know, gravy sounds like thanksgiving!! But in this case, it just means red sauce.

  • @leahthegeek very cool. And i'm sure anything your gram cooked was wonderful...by reading through the comments I see she's got Alz. now and isn't cooking anymore. For that I'm sorry...but you've got video 'gold' of her when she was still in her prime that will allow you to remember her at her best. Hopefully, you will carry on the making of the family 'gravy' recipe for your kids/grands! =) Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Great family video. I'm going to make your Grandma's meatballs tonight. They look fantastic!

  • @editdave Thank you for the comment! She's going to love knowing that!! I hope they're yummy! You should upload a video response so I can see your creation!

  • Your lovely Italian grandma is fantastic! Thank you for sharing this video! Those meatballs look so good and you are blessed to still have you grandma around. Mine passed away 22 years ago and I miss her to this day. Appreciate your grandma while you still have her in your life.

    Blessings!

  • @Topaz5866 Thank you, sweetie!! She is a doll -- the true matriarch to the family even though her light is fading. These videos are treasures to us. I miss her cooking!

  • Fat bitch she looks like she ate all the meatballs !!

  • Thank you for posting this. Reminds me of my dear Italian Grandma and the times we spent in the kitchen together. Luv and hugs to you both!

  • @mslady828 You are wonderful -- thank you for your comments.

  • original by italian mamma :)

  • @A1DiamondGirls I AGREE!!! : ) Thank you! She just loves your comments!

  • @A1DiamondGirls My husband's father used to make those -- and they were amazing!! (His dad was from Sicily) I miss all the wonderful food and pastry from the "old country"!!

  • She called it GRAVY! WOW! I luv her! I grew up w/ sauce being called gravy lol Im so use to it, people look at me crazy when I say it! They think Im speaking of brown gravy! I have educated my husband of 18 years, so now he calls it gravy too! God Bless!

  • @phillygrl69 Yes, she did!! I'm sooo glad you commented on this video! Thank you for watching!! : )

  • @leahthegeek Awwww!! You are SO WELCOME!!! You all sound so adorable! Remember: Italians Do It Better!!!! lol

  • @A1DiamondGirls: Yeah, I'll be your granny and though I don't know you, I'll remember you in my prayers.

Sorry about your grannies but....such is life! I'm a grandma of 4 but they live so far away and air travel is not my favourite pastime. I don't get to see them very often but we communicate on the phone. In the absence of your grannies, cherish mom and dad. Take care and be good to yourself. God bless you.

I love raisins; thanks for the tip.

  • "Thanks for putting me on camera", she says. Granny's charming! Everybody is a star! I was in the process of making meatballs for dinner and thought I'd see what methods other people used. Pretty much the same. Good seasoning and not over cooking is the key.

  • @grannyvonng Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment! She loves hearing all of the feedback and this is going to totally make her day! I hope your meatballs turn out great, too!

  • That's some pretty meatballs you have there grandma

  • Nick sounds like a man of many words. :))))))

  • @mrtrek64 He usually is -- I think he didn't want or expect to be on camera. Check out the videos with him in my list from our Mediterranean Cruise. You'll recognize him in the thumbnails. : )

  • OMG.. she is making me hungry..

  • secret tip-- i cook my meatballs in bacon grease..and i add croutons(croutons add soo much flavor) and bacon..cook it the same way and the taste is to die for--

  • @THEJIGGADREWSHOW SOUNDS AMAZING!!! I will definitely give that a try! Thanks! : )

  • What's the point of uploading this video if you don't give the full recipe?

    Incomplete.......

  • @aspiceno This wasn't meant to be educational - I posted this video for posterity for me and my family so we could remember watching my grandma cooking. She has Alzheimer's now and doesn't cook at all, so this video is especially nostalgic. I hope you find the recipe you're looking for.

  • I roll mine in bread crumbs while they're raw to give them a light coating. Then place in the sauce for 45 minutes to cook. If serving by themselves then I fry them. Simply the best.

Hey what kind of meat does she use?

  • @mrtrek64 She used a combination of beef, pork and lamb.

  • Grandmas cook the best ;D

  • shes hot

  • Some Italians fry them before cooking them in the sauce, its great either way!

  • lol the gravy xD

  • GREAT WORK NONNA ! YOU ARE VERY SWEET ! MERRY XMAS

  • i didn't know people fry meat balls. i cook them in sauce. i'm going to try it like your nonna.

  • no meatball!!! Queste sono POLPETTE!!!

  • I'm coming over for dinner. Set another plate.

  • @HokieD1993 I'm sure she'd love to have you -- there's ALWAYS too much!!

  • i have 2 meet balls much better than those

  • @julioclau Seriously?

  • @leahthegeek yea let me show you u will love it

  • @leahthegeek but my mexican grand mother always used to do the same plate but here the name is albondigas and is traditional, and the flavor is better for sure

  • emeril seasoning hahaha get the fuck outta here lol

  • @NapoliXBleedsXBlue She's a modern woman -- using her creativity. : ) I never said they were "traditional". Don't hate. They were delicious!! Bam!

  • I'd love to have a granny like yours, xD heeey ask her for the recipe to make the sauce :3 i love meat balls and spaghetti and want to learn how to cook em i've seen lots of recipes but non convince me maybe a more traditional way :3 is needed

  • @pmezo She's a modern woman -- using her creativity. : ) I never said they were "traditional". Don't hate. They were delicious!! Bam!

  • What a lovely woman!

My Nana is the same; although she is Greek.

    She looks so pleasant.

*NOTE* Take care of your Nanas and Papas! They wont be around forever.

    Enjoy!

  • @MacrudoProductions You're right about that! That's why I take so much video of them

  • @leahthegeek

My God bless her for you

  • Ohhhhh... I'm just breakin' balls here:-)

Looks cosy, but a few more details about seasoning those balls would have been appreciated.

  • darn these immigrants know how to cook lol

  • sorry for typo - meant "grandma" I got caught up in the aroma -- Don't you just love Olive Oil , parmesan, ricotta, veal, good sugu, breadcrumbs, imported pasta noodles, etc -- I'm getting hungry!

  • Looks great Leah!- Nothng like Italian cuisine cooked with love from your Grandma's generation[and before] I am a step removed from her generation but associated wiith older italians all my life --The taste care and quality of their recipes is beyond reproach -Hope grandman is doing fine - hope you pass her love and expertise down - Hands on Italian cooking is a dying art in the family kitchen -What a shame --Take care!

  • Funny how you felt compelled to clarify the term gravy for the non-Italian viewers who probably thinking brown gravy.

  • @rusty1491 Yeah, well -- it was a little weird because previous to that taping, she had NEVER used the term "gravy" in reference to sauce. So, actually, I was clarifying it for myself! : )

  • MeatBalls? Palle di carne? looooooool their name is "POLPETTE" (in napoletano 'e purpette)

  • @DueSpaghi Thanks for the correction. Here, my family calls them "meatballs". My Sicilian husband's father calls meatless "meatballs" Pourpettes. Everyone has a different definition -- but everyone can agree, they are delicious. : )

  • i miss my grandmas

  • Let the neighbors smell YES!!! ...Your grandma rules!

  • Nobody is as wonderful as the Grandmothers in our lives! This was a perfect tribute to grandmothers everywhere! I miss my grandmother terribly, we lost her last year. She was 89. If I can ask a favor of everyone out there please be good to your grandparents and always show them respect because they worry and love you more than you will ever know. Thanks and god bless!!!

  • Can you be my Grandma!? Cheers, nice vid!

  • THEY WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS WITH GRANDMA ONLY IF YOUR ITALIAN

  • I got smellavision, love it.... Nonna beautiful great video guys....

  • non capisco perche' non parlate una parola di italiano. Dell'italia vi e' rimasta solo la cucina.

Gli stranieri in italia continuano a parlare la loro lingua in casa e la insegnano ai loro figli. Voi no. Che amarezza ..

  • I LOVE HER!!!! She is wearing the official Italian Grandma Apron...I still have my grandma's...saved it all these years!! She seems awesome-May God Bless her!!

  • You should be proud. beautiful Italian Grandma...Bella, Bella!

  • Watch My grandma singing que Sera Sera...

  • il sugo con le polpette è il massimo

the juice with the meatballs is the maximum one

  • Good looking meatballs...Thanks for sharing!

  • I miss my Gran :(

i want to go to Italy to learn how to make True meatballs

I've made my own meatballs in the pan before, they're harder to make than the oven because in the oven they hold their shape, the most common problem people have is that it breaks apart

The only tips I can suggest is to make sure the oil is boiling hot (so it makes spitting sounds), make sure the meatballs are seared on each side nice and brown and if you want them to be really firm put in a fridge for 2-3 hrs before

  • great vid your gram is so nice

  • You are very lucky to have such a great grandmum. Make sure you keep the recipe and hand it down to your kids. Looks very good.

  • She's sweet...makes me miss both of my grandmothers...good times!

  • Please immediately remove the link to my video from your website. Thank you!

  • Actually this is the first time I have heard pasta sauce referred to as "gravy". I am Sicilian background (Australian born), maybe "gravy" is more an American saying?

  • Add lots of parmesan!

  • signora è fantastica le polpette al sugo che c'è di meglio, mia nonna ha 84 anni, ma come cucina lei, viva le nonne, great women

  • The oven sucks! Carmelize the meatballs!

perfect in the sense of the taste of the meatballs.

perhaps someone can care to let me know what to add to the meatball mix to give it "that taste"?

i've taken to adding red wine to the mix but it still don't taste really great

  • Ahhh, your granny cooks with the secret ingredient...love! :)

  • I bet the dinner was great! Grandma is a sweetie!

  • That lady is such a sweet pea!
