I believe Peter mentioned in his note to the public that he would like it if Newsboys fans would welcome Tait just like they welcomed him all those years ago. It is different and a different sound, but it is still Newsboys music.
I love Peter...You're right to say he's got a very distinctive voice. But, I will have to disagree and I very much plan on buying anything Michael Tait does as the lead vocals for Newsboys.

You know? I stopped listening to the newsboys after Peter stopped singing. Tait has a good voice but it just doesn't work with the newsboys music. In The Hands Of God may be the last album I buy.
One thing that Peter will always have that Michael Tait may not is stage presence. Both have great voices, unique in their own way but Peter can just grab the mic and command that stage. Havent seen it with Tait yet.

one of the songs I like by them is when the tears fall and i love your ways they have a great message and if I am not correct they are one of my favorite groups between newsboys and michael w smith that is where I have the most tapes used
i think it's cool that michael tait and newsboys will be together as a group tait used to be in dc talk and he has great vocals but i will miss pete furler's singing
i know! i miss Peter already! i went to the scranton, PA performance the day before the one at Stabler... it was a weekend full of newsboys, it was glorious. i volunteered for the global tribe tables.. =)

This is the last album of theirs I will buy. You cant replace Peter, he has a very distinctive voice. NO THANKS for Tait. Sad, so very sad.
