  • Quick question - for fried rabbit, what is a good age to "harvest" the rabbits? Wasn't sure if rabbits get too tough to fry as they get older.

  • @watuwaitn4 How old is it, after about from 1-2 years you will want to par boil the 1st. You really need to par boil anything that is not a feeder rabbit that is 8-10 weeks old....That is when we butcher ours.....

  • Up here in the North-East, every time someone talks about eating something different or unusual, they say "It tastes like chicken!". But I've heard that rabbit really does. I want to try some; would you say it resembles chicken meat? Also do you cook frog legs? I love those...but they don't taste like chicken to me. Tess

  • You are so fortunate to have fresh rabbit. I'm hungry for some but I'll have to wait a few months. Cottontails around here aren't fit to eat in this hot weather. Doctors may say that menu is a killer but it's killin me just listening to that rabbit in the skillet>>>

  • @OkieJohn1950 Thank you......No they are not fit to eat int his kind of weather, that is what it so goood about tame rabbit...

  • Looks like a great meal. I know it probably does not matter much but could you please show how you cut up the rabbit? I would like to know your technique.

  • @rondygal Thank uou

  • we don't due a huge amount of fried foods, but I have a definite weakness for anything that includes biscuits and gravy! lol...and my waist line shows that. BUT, if it's a special occasion and you have put in a hard days work, it works out fine.

Glad the stove is working out for you so well! I like the way that chimney was done.

  • @Herbalpagan Thank you......
