Not sure about that. For years Patti LaBelle talked about how she would chew gum when she sings, to help her with the higher notes. Not sure if it really helps, or if its just a psychological thing. Maybe Nikki is just following in Patti's footsteps:)

It really does... being classically trained vocalist that sings gospel... when you sing so openly, inhaling an expelling air in such great force sometimes you can dry out before a song is over and start to cracking. Just like pastors who WHOOP that get that barking sound. Well at least that's my experience.
