  • I liked this interview. It was my first time ever watching it. After Michael's death I pretty much avoided mainstream media's coverage on him because the anchors seem to mocked his death and demean his worth as a person. And don't get me started on their coy implications of Michael being a pedophile. Sighs. This was a respectable, classy, and honest interview with someone who truly knew Michael and valued his worth as a musician, friend, and human being.

  • everytime I see this guy I think ab what Tupac said,,,,QJ tried to hit on Tupac and Tupac was like naw man I dont swing like that

  • PEOPLE- U MUST REALISE LEARN TO RESPECT THE OPINION OF OTHERS -JUST BECAUSE U SAY SOMETHING IS THE BEST DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING!!!!- WHAT REALLY FREAKS ME OUT IS THAT ROLLING STONE RANKS THRILLER AS #20 ON THEIR LIST OF BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME AND MJ AS #35 ON THEIR LIST OF GREATEST ARTISTS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Confirmedgenius When was this? Cuz I just saw 100 greatest artists of all time on VH1 and MJ came in at #2.

  • Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones are great music combo ever.

  • Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad...

the only three albums that matter - the rest cant hold a candle to these three.

    Quincy is the man.

  • @hcvang

QJ added zero on the Bad record. Michael wrote all the tunes, made hundreds of tapes, QJ was just standing there, watching how M took control

On Thriller MJ made his own demos for BJ,BI,WBSS and GiM. These songs form the heart of THR

They mixed all songs together, still MJ didn't get any producer credits He even doubted BJ !

For OTW, QJ 's influence is undescribable huge ! Introducing Rod Temperton, finding the right songs.

QJ launched MJ, but MJ made QJ the man he is today

  • @hcvang

Dangerous New Jack Swing style sounds to this day as fresh as it can be !

Clenching styles, great recordings, great diversity, great songs.

It's true MJ didn't have evergreens since Bad, but it has nothing to do with the absence of QJ.

Nobody can write classic after classic. Like it is impossible to invent a new Moonwalk over and over, it's a once in a lifetime thing.

Those three records are classics, which he could never overcome, with or without QJ.

  • Okay, it looks as if I'm on the wrong vid of comments. Every time I mention anyone other than MJ, someone gets emotional about it. When it comes to who i find to be very, very important other than MJ, it's Quincy, Rod Temperton, Louis Johnson, John Robinson, Greg Phillinganes & Paul jackson Jr. These dudes are musicians and so am I, so i tend to lean toward ALL people that make hits possible, not just one man. MJ was a unique artist and i respect all his work, but he NEVER did it alone.

  • @afrosensuous NO! you were basically giving him all of the credit. I did not say that MJ is the only one who did all of those things. Doing what all of those men did was a BIG part of making the album. And it was in another video. And to sit here and call me a pop fan is more than obtuse it is just downright ignorant. I love music off all kinds. Once again, I do understand the process of that. But if it was not for MJ none of it would have happened. That is what I am saying ASSHOLE

  • In my opinion, his biggest album was "Thriller", but his BEST recorded album project was "Off The Wall". That's because of the musicians, arrangements and collective effort of Quincy's people. MJ came to QJ with no Motown people. So this was a first for something bigger than anything MJ or QJ has ever approached.

  • @afrosensuous Ok. First off, Michael had long left Motown before producing with Wuincy. Also, MJ asked if he knew any good producers and Q offered his service. Matter of a fact, MJ fought to get Quincy on when execs at Epic said NO. Both men had something to contribute to the table.

  • @miownunique...lket me clarify that my main thing is the musical aspect. When J% were with Motown, they used the Funk brothers a lot, which kicked ass back then. So, when Q & MJ got together, Q got a shit-load of his best studio musicians and writers to give MJ that same good flavor he got with J5. After leaving Motown, there was CBS records. I know the label lineage, just speaking on musicians and how it came about. I'm not gonna argue with anyone over MJ. It ain't that serious.

  • @afrosensuous it seems as though you take it serious. so bye. I was just saying that giving Q all of the credit, when both men contributed to the album is very obtuse. nothing else.

  • @miownunique...Now then, I looked back and never saw where I gave Qunicy ALL the credit, so I'm sadly misread again. A lot of pop fans didn't know shit about what it took to make those hit albums. MJ didn't just run in the studio, do a video and then it all looked simple. Give credit where it's due, but you wouldn't know who to give it to other than MJ because you're a pop fan, not a fan of MUSIC (which includes others as well. Nothing's worse than a selfish fan.

  • @miownunique...OMG, are you new to things in the music world? You're quoting stuff everyone has heard. there's always gonna be NO...YES...MAYBE and all that when it comes to getting things done. They said NO to Jam & Lewis taking on Janet at A&M Records. Prince fired Jam & Lewis, who were snowed in and doing the SOS Band album, which is why they never appeared in Purple Rain (replaced with other actors). If you wanna talk contribution, let's chat about ROD TEMPERTON!!!

  • @afrosensuous Also, to reaffirm something, it was in another video you were talking all of this crap just to defend Quincy. Another. NO, I AM NOT NEW TO THINGS IN THE MUSIC WORLD. I did acting, so I know the YES - NO - MAYBE dance. And despite Rod Temperton's genius and his contribution to MJ's albums, I would like to say FUCK HIM TOO! And if you did not get that, the latter of my comment was from a personal level.

  • @miownunique....MJ got you all emotional and shit. you seem to think we all should agree with you in order to be validated. Fanatisism is a very, very bad thing. I said what the fuck I said. If you don't like it, then I guess you'll FEEL that way, which is not my concern. I am a QJ and MJ fan and I'm not gonna condemn a man for his words. MJ is NOT GOD!!! You must be a woman.....tell me I'm wrong....a chick with way too much emotional shit over comments. Bacdufucup!!!

  • @afrosensuous No you need to bacdufucup. you seem to be concerd, crowling back up my ass because I was telling some truth. MJ IS NOT GOD. I don't even believe in god. so take that dumb shit somewhere else. you're the one taking these comments seriously you must be a bitch yourself. on fucking youtube. get a life.

  • @miownunique....Okay, this has gotten old and I stand by what I said in the beginning. People that are obsessed to the point of being angry should pay more attention to how that man died...show up at the courthouse with a sign, contact your local congressman.....somebody....anybody that really cares and is as angry as you over people that say anything about MJ you don't like. People can talk their asses off, but at the end of the day.....it's all gravy!!!

  • @afrosensuous look here dumbass. no one cares about what you thing. you are the only one replying like some faggot ass loser on YT. I have came to a conclusion about his death, something I doubt your dumbass has done, since you want to keep replying to some shit. you are dumb as hell. get some fucking help. I'm angry??? what the hell that makes you? CIVIL??? More like SYBLE!

  • quincy=2 faced.

  • Michael Jackson is brilliant, but not as multi-dimensional as Quincy Jones and his cohorts.

    SONY crushed his creativity.

If they didn't, maybe he would get a chance to do what Mint Condition, The Roots, Sade's Band and Incognito do on a daily basis.

  • Dangerous-Jam,In the closet,cant let her get away,she drives me wild,dangerous,gone to soon,will you be there,keep the faith,black or white,who is it?

all damn classics!! Every album he made since he was little was freaken amazing! true angel, handsome man! my hero! <3

  • the funny thing is most people here probably dont even know who sammy davis is :S how sad

  • "His presence...his soul and his genius."

    'Nuff said - well said.

  • Jeez...I love reading people's arguments on this site. It's all so funny...

  • hi i just lolove quincy j and michael jackson the best fr johnnyb.

  • Yeah but Michael is a brilliant songwriter Billie Jean,Beat It .etc. What would Elivis be without the songwriters behind him. Michael Jackson wrote his biggest hits on his own. Quincy Jones are ofcourse a genius and big person in Thriller,Bad,Off the wall.. But put like this what would Beatles be without George Martin??

Dont forget that Michael was big before Quincy was in the picture in 1976 i wrote dont blame it on the Boggie!!

  • @jenslll777 EXACTLY

  • Again you are trying to argue where there is no argument. QJ and MJ were both critical to Thriller's success. What exactly it is you're arguing I don't know! ROTFLMBAO@you can tell I don't know anything about music. OK Belive that. I think I get it now. You are a Quincy Jones Fanatic and all should praise him. Nobody in the music industry matters but him according to you. Cool, one dimensional, but cool, you like QJ, I can respect that... son.

  • For the clowns on here that think Quincy can't make stars ya'll must have never heard of The Brothers Johnson, Patti Austin, James Ingram, Tevin Campbell Tamia, George Benson's Give Me The Night Album, Don't let me get started on his own Grammy Winning albums.

  • Michael Jackson VS The BJ, TC,Tamia,PA

Ill give you PA, JI, GB, even Tamia as stars but Tevin Campbell is so out of place in that list. Round and Round, Tomorrow, Tell me WYWMTD, Can we talk, Shhhh, all made within a span of 88 to 93 and THATS IT! lmao hardly a star. I loved Tev pre back to the world. Sorry he fell off before he started good. The Bros had Stomp, i'll BGTY,GTFOMF, andSL23 then a career as a backing band. Many forgot them until Ray and Chaka did I'll BGTY on Back on the block.

  • NEGATIVE!!!!! You maybe forgot about them cause your on mike nuts hard. I repeat There would be no Thriller without Quincy Jones..... That's it son deal with it I can tell you know nothing about music

  • Michael and Quincy haven't been close in years. Q said it himself when MJ was on trial in 2005. This dude just said in a magazine that MJ didn't have that much talent. Yeah! Some friend.

  • First of all, Quincy Jones helped create Michael. Quincy was also a great mentor to MJ because he told Ml several times that there was nothing wrong with his face or him, he was a good looking guy and that he should stop all of this behavior. It was about the music and not about how different you can be or how eccentric you can be to get attention. I love Michael but I think in his later years he lost touch with the music and was focused on being a superstar. I wish he listened to QJ.

  • yeah right!

  • @liacashmere58 MJ did a spread wearing Hip Hop fasion in QJ VIBE magazine a few years before Mj died so I think him and Mj was backconnected as friends...Also in that article MJ was said and shownm hanging out with "Q" and his daughters..

  • I don't think Quincy was dissing Michael in any way. He knew Mike better than most and has been

consistent when tells stories of Michael. Michael had a complex life and I do feel he felt a lot of discomfort but Quincy is a true friend as far as I can see. In many friendships you accept each other shortcomings no different here

  • Comment removed

  • If that's so true why did every album that michael recorded without Quincy suck ass? Quincy Jones is the greatest producer EVER!!! Deal wit it or shoot yourself

  • You have made this into what its isnt. There is no competition between the 2. There is no competition b/t QJ and any other producer! The uproar is how someone who is a friend does interview after interview as SOON as their friend dies. It's a shitty thing to do. I would say the same if someone who is your friend talked reckless about you before you were even in the damn ground. Especially when they didnt do it while you were alive. What part of that don't you get ?

  • Mike was already a big star without Quincy (and vice versa). You're acting like Quincy has on a I hate Michael shirt on or something. You can't say mike and quincy weren't good friends based off this interview. And why are ya'll giving mike such high praise like he ain't never do no wrong. He owned the beatles catalog and he wasn't even a fuckin beatle!!!

  • He owned the beatles catalog and he wasn't even a fuckin beatle!!!

    LOL

That got to me- yeah MJ was also a very astute business person. He was human like us all- I would suspect he would have had his moments- good bad and indifferent- nobody is perfect.

  • People own song rights that they didn't ding all the time, that's simple business. What did he do wrong? He didn't steal the catalog which includes numerous other artists as well. He outbid Paul, obviously MJ valued it more than Paul that says a lot about being a Beatle. Also, why were no other Beatles bidding?Remember Paul McCartney was NOT poor lol, he was and IS a VERY wealthy man indeed.

  • @kc718201 Pauls owna lot of black Bblues singers music catalogs and hes not black blues singer Paulhas neve once reached out to help any of the black blues artist thats alive and thats fallen on hardtime But makes tons of money off owning their music calaog..

  • Michael was a star ever since he was 5 years old quincy says...thats right I knew Michael when he was 5, I was 6 working too.

  • 3:28 i love that song . michael jackson is amazing . rip i know your in heaven.

  • Is Quincy crying in the end? It seems he has tears in his eyes

  • Quincy Jones, Nina Simone credits you with messing MJ up.

  • "anything for money, lie for you die for you, even sell my soul to the devil" Michael did not need quincy, quincy needed Michael. He would have made it without quincy, he was that good. fuck you Quincy and fuck cbs.

  • How the hell did quincy need michael? Quincy was already famous before mike had his first hit. Do your fuckin history. If it seems like I'm mad your fuckin right nigga fuck you

  • QJ dnd't need MJ, but Thriller did increase his profile. what he's saying is untrue. MJ didn't bleach his skin, he DID have vitiligo as well as lupus. Chemical peels dont change skin color. MJ did accelerate the process when diagnosed with vitiligo with meds b/c losing his pigment was inevitable. Can you blame him for not wanting to look like a dalmation? QJ is cllng MJ a liar sayin he didn't have vitiligo, when he in fact did. No friend does that. He is also bitter mj mved on to othr producers.

  • What does QJ have to be bitter about? Name 1 MJ album that was better than Off the Wall, Thriller, or Bad.......Don't worry I'll wait. Was I even talking to you in the first place?

  • "Don't worry, you'll wait?" OK Katt Williams. lol. Did you not read the first sentence of my response? It was in agreement with you! HELLO! So now people are attacking people for agreeing with them? If you had any comprehension skills regarding spoken language. He clearly stated what he was bitter about...BECAUSE MJ PAID OTHER PRODUCERS 5 TIMES WHAT HE PAID QJ TO PRODUCE THE Later RECORDS. As far as talking to me? You made a comment in a public forum idiot! So it is open to response from anyone.

  • I see you still didn't answer my question. And you ain't in agreement with me cause Thriller didn't increase Q's profile. It increased Mike's. Oh yeah still waiting on that answer lol

  • I said QJ didn't need MJ just as you did and that isn't agreeing? Thriller did increase QJ's profile. Do you think being the producer of the best selling album EVER didn't increase his status as a producer? He'd proven himself as a super producer who accompished what no producer has or ever will. The success of thriller had artists wanting to work with him in droves and with the best selling album ever under his belt his skills commanded a significantly higher price.

  • I think artists wanted to work with quincy whether there was a thriller or not. But I suppose you're right to a degree

  • I think you are misinterpreting that word profile and the context in which it is used. Increasing his profile is not saying that Thriller made him famous. It means that the success of Thriller was an addition to his already legendary body of work. It also means that the success of thriller also increased artists demands for his production services.

  • Honestly Quincy Jones is the greatest person in the music business however he loved MJ

  • The one who produced thriller, off the wall and Bad.he is amazing!!

  • I don't know if Quincy doesn't know or doesn't believe that Michael had vitiligo, the skin coloration sickness that leaves you with patches of white around the skin. Michael mentioned that this was why he changed his complexion. I think it is unfair to say that he was not comfortable in his skin when his doctor said he was diagnosed with vitiligo. I mean why do these interviewers ask questions to get a negative response. Michael did alot of positive things. Why don't they talk more about them

  • hes soo old and looks sad!

  • Quincy Jones

You were "Absolutely" a Blessing in Disguise!! There are people in the Music Industry in my opinion. Who wanted to see this man FAIL!!

I did "Research" on MOTOWN in DETROIT as I was literally "SHOCKED" at what I found. I could not believe it!

Dating back ..There were others too who are indeed Animals.. I couldn't believe it... Michael had to let these shallow of thieves make him worry about his life..

Thank you Quincy Jones 4 taking care of him when he needed someone!

  • Q has worked with Sinatra, Ray Charles, Basie, Sammy Davis and Aretha so for him to call Michael a genius....

  • cnt believe he can say da he wasnt conmfortable in his skin

  • If anyone, I can believe Quincy Jones in reguard to MJs problem with the way he looked. His track record for honesty is flawless. I love MJ more than anyone but we have to take in consideration that he may have had a problem in that area & its nothing wrong with that. He was human just like all of us. We all have some sort of hang up. Whether fear of heights, weight. For a long time I had a hard time defining myself, Im french/black/latino. But I said screw it. Im all of who I am. RIP Michael.

  • when medical facts show thatthe man had an illness, such as lupus and vitiligo, you tell me what the fuck he was suppose to do! It was clearly a problem with everyone befor he died. The man was trying to play the cards that was deat to him in life instead of looking like a damn dialmation with a rash that was eating his face. If the man kept that shit on him, everyone wouldd be roasting his ass as well. While I love Q's music, I have lost a hell of alot of respect for him on this issue.

  • So you lost respect for this man bc he voiced his opinion? Q worked closely with MJ for "Years". Not saying he was or was not correct on the matter, but I'll take Q's credibility over a news report or someone who doesnt know him at all. I love MJ too but we've got to have some common damn sense too. I suppose you think those are his biological kids also?

  • Hell fucking yes. You want to start something?Hell, that man was too damn confident to claim those kids for 1 thing. Because If you look into his medical issues, they explain a hell of a lot more than what the fuck Q is saying. Like I said I love his music, but I have lost respect for him. Yes I have common sense as well, MJ did have his flaws, but trying to be a white man is sure ass hell not one of them. Shit clearly something happened in their relationship that made him say that shit.

  • You still didnt answer my question. Do you think the kids are his? I say no. My father is french/spanish. He is a brunette & very fair skinned. My mother is black & indian. We are creole & you dont get much more mixed than a creole. I have 8 brothers & sisters ranging from very light to very brown. known of us look like the first two kids. Maybe blanket. But the first two. No way.

  • Yes, I did answer your fucking question.

I said: Hell fucking yes. For one thing the boy has the same illness that MJ had. Prince and Blanket resemble in the eyes. He also happens to look like Joes father. Michael himself even stated talked about how the boy looked like the grandfather so did TIto. As for your fam, that is your gaddamn gene pool. Get the fuck out of MJ's. MJ was eccentric not a fool. He was too damn confident laying claim on those kids. Do further research!

  • And when it is an opinion that has been proven non factual, with all do respect to him, he should have shut the fuck up! That is what is wrong with society today they want to have an opinion but don't want to see what is fact when it comes the fuck out. BRING IT. And Yes I can get fucking crazy.

  • I cant defend something I really dont know about. Thats what I mean by "credibility". Lets look at Q's track record. Q is known for being a stand up guy. We're not talking about a new skool celeb that gets on tv & dishes dirt & puts out homemade porn for sale. This is old money. He was wealthy before MJ was born. He has nothing to profit be saying what he said. What I saw was concern & pain on that mans face. Now we can bullshit each other all day but you know some of that shit didnt add up.

  • Look here, I don't give a shit about his track record or a damn school of celeb bullshit. I dont give a shit how wealthy he is. He is "OPINION" holds no credibility to what doctors and court recrds show. And I know he needs not profit from it, but the man seems to have some harsh views of MJ despite his "pain & concern". You're bullshitting yourself if you can't do some goddamn research! Don't like kiss my ass!

  • You're kidding me right? You cant be that far up MJ's ass. I mean really. For you to even question Q shows me you havent done your research. Show me some damn doctor reports that dont involve the guys like the one who "killed him"! I hope thats not your case research. I really do. Making sense of the matter doesnt mean you love MJ any less. It just means it is what it is. Q is just telling it from his "real relationship" key word with MJ. If you cant respect that, I dont know what to tell you..

  • OK! clearly you are an idiot. Please go keep your head up Q's ass. Dr. Klein has stated the man had a skin disorder. The Doctor who searched MJ's body has stated what the man's medical condition was. If you get off your ass and look on up what the man had you would not be coming back to me like a dumbfuck trying to prove "A Stupid Point". Look up Dr. Klein, look up info on MJ's autopsy instead of trying to insult or give me some lame ass ex. on Q credibility. You Stupid Shit You!

  • Ok. Wait, first let me apologize for my intensity to prove my point. Im not here to judge your character. Im just trying to get across that I think beyond anyone else, the man responsible for MJ's 3 hit albums & superstar success should be shown some kind of respect. To appreciate MJ is to appreciate the entire entity we fell in love with. Now if the reports show a condition then I am relieved. But It still doesnt make Q wrong about what he saw with MJ. Now would you agree?

  • You tell em! Since MJ's death I view these people quite differently, Q -his stupid opinion. come to think of it you have to ask yourself how good of a friend was he?? didn't know MJ with these medical conditions. Oprah - well when he was alive she bashed him. didn't say a word after that news on June 25th. Then went on to have a tribute only after she saw the response of love for MJ. Lisa - who was gutted on Myspace, PLEASE!!!! They're all fake!!!!

  • Thank You! These people are unbelivable. I don't even watch the news or televison anymore because of the BS they present to the public presenting that as talent and then have the nerve to celebrate a man after he dies, but ridcules him while alive and just plain lying to the public. The internet is no different, but atleast it give us a the freedom to be able to rally ourselves together and take on the mainstream media and their biased ways. RIP 2 The KOP.

  • Q and MJ had problems in the later years. Why did he come on now to say these thing? He never came out when MJ was alive to support him. He got a thumbs down from me Q!

    That wasn't nice of him.

  • do you know quincy's albums have you heard The Dude . what an album man. what about This Is How I Feel About Jazz?

  • Yeah, I own that album "The Dude" and one of my favorite on that album is "Velas" as well as the album "Back on the Block". I am not denying Q's talent. I am just saying that he' was wrong to speak out AFTER Mike's passing like that. Clearly it was in bad taste.

  • i respect wot you say actually. Love Back On The Block too! What about "Q's Jook Joint"? that is one of my other top favorites too

  • No I don't have Jook Joint that album/no songs grabed me. Was to contemporary for me...

  • my favorite M.J. albums are Destiny and Off The Wall.

  • I've yet to decide which one of my MJ albums are my favorite. In the moment I play them, that CD is my favorite. And I can't decide which song is my favorite either - LOL!!!

  • Did you see MJ in the movie The Wiz? He was l GREAT in that movie. Two great songs from that movie. You Can't Win and Ease on Down the Road.

  • yeah i know what you mean . . . the sound becomes the thing of the moment. i think Invincible too is a killing album without a doubt . absolutely love the WIZ one of mi favorite films ever out of all of time . love it

  • @Sandy2J in another interview he told mike what he thought to his face

  • I wasn't refering to his color but the surgeries and honey I adore MJ but he admit himself that he wasn't happy with his physical appearance. The media twist the fact that growing up in a beauty obsessed society doesn't affect people (especially male stars!) when it does and claimed MJ didn't want be black - that's a LIE. The surgiers had to with insecurities due to his father and other people's buylling of his face - that's it!

  • Are we debating best album?? :) I guess it's a matter of taste, and they all have strong points, but OFF THE WALL wins in my book. I CANNOT put it on and not end up sweating my ass off dancing. His vocals are impeccable (as usual) but there's a vulnerability there that is unlike anything else he ever did. Love you forever Michael....our precious sweet baby. xoxxo

  • @dancinmachine888....I agree. "Off The Wall" was the best recorded, best performed and best emsemble of people put together to kick off an album no one saw coming. At that time, music needed a makeover and MJ did the job. The best J5 album to me is "G.I.T.

  • He looks amazing at 2.54...it makes me sad for him that he wasn't comfortable in his own skin and felt he had to have all those surgeries.

  • Nah, BAD was the best, BAD has the most #1s than the others. Dangerous was ok, but many of the songs sounded the same, same NJSwing rhythm. Thriller wins by popularity, but lyrically, BAD is the best!

  • Nothing on Dangerous sounds the same

  • my point of view, dangerous is the best...all tracks r amazing

  • Dangerous was his best album.

  • Not. Even. CLOSE!! Thriller was his best album. Without ANY question.

  • Off the wall and thriller for me!

  • Hmm

  • Right. Who would bleach themselves to alabaster, he woulda just kept the cocoa or peach. It couldn't be helped.

Anyone who knew him in person, even fans, had seen the vitiligo. But obviously Michael was insecure, no matter how many screaming fans he had or how many people were madly in love with him. And actually...I sympathize with that.

  • MusicLove54

    You are absolutely correct.

MJ was making a few hit singles with the J5 and he was a teeny-bopper star but without QJ magic touch MJ would have never been the SUPERSTAR he became.

QJ's jazzy and blues signature is all over MJ 3 biggest hit albums and that's what made the magic.

There's no doubt that MJ was a great "Entertainer" and superb "Performer" but people should give more recognition and respect to QJ who is a "Maestro"

  • MJ hated NO ONE but himself. He tortured and taunted himself because he had a messed up brain. Quincy LOVED MJ and was very proud of him and was blessed to have worked with someone like MJ. I think Quincy was just heartbroken and confused. He does not understand why this man is dead. He does not understand why this man hated himself and did all the things to his body that he did and he does not know why MJ lived the way he did. He is not a traitor or hater. He is just grieving in his own way.

  • MJ was obviously uncomfortable in his own skin. What a dumb question. The man had vitiligo, lupus, was severly burned, had BDD and anorexia and was called gay and accused of God awful atrocities and people are amazed he did what he did to himself. Get REAL people. The man should have been dead years ago or in a mental institution. He was a genius and a prodigy on one hand and crazy on the other. They say the line between the two is very thin and easily crossed...

  • QJ LOVED and knew MJ for such a long time. And he is speaking rea, not BS. He really misses him. I think there's more truth in people who knew him, than all the "hogwash" we're fed thru the media. Yes, Michael left him and maybe there are sore feelings, but the man knew him better than we do and also better than the media. The media is more sensationalism than "what is really goin' on". A small "insight" into the "private" MJ.

Long Love the KING! Thank you, Michael! Rest in Peace. I love you!

  • Quicy Jones may have worked with Michael in his early stages but even though I liked the work they did it doesn't change the fact that he was NOT a true friend of Michael's. I think he became jealous of his fame as Michael continued to Blossom. He's frontin. He didn't really back up MJ. This was a wack interview anyway. THE KING OF POP LIVES ON....

  • I agree. Quincy may have been a mentor in those earlier years, yes, but he was NOT a true friend of Michael's. I've read some of the things he's said in recent interviews and not only are they inappropriate for a so-called friends, they are not the sort of things that should be right after someone dies. Stuff about Michael's surgeries and chemical peels that Q keeps bringing up. There's also no excuse for him not showing up at Michael's memorial.

  • This.

And I read somewhere that he was not invited. I wonder.

  • I highly doubt that he wouldn't be invited - I mean, even inconsequential people like the Kadharshians were there! He had said in an interview that he had to be in Europe (for some dumb benefit) and would be missing the memorial. A lame excuse because Europe isn't going anywhere, it'll be there a month later, a year later, but there is only one memorial. Talk about priorities being messed up...

  • This has been my point all along. I said that and people got all upset with me accusing me of discrediting QJ's talent. His production has nothing to do with his character. I agree a friend would not basically go on a smear campaign about their friend basically calling them a liar especially when the facts are documented. My question was why didnt he give these interviews when mich was alive? He didn't even allow a grieving period he went right in before the body was cold talking negatively damn

  • I wish Quincy Jones would have produced more albums with Michael after BAD! No disrespect to Michael, but his music wasn't quite as good as it was when he was with Quincy.

    Off the Wall: EPIC

    Thriller: MONSTER ALBUM (obviously)

Bad: EPIC (not quite as good as THRILLER, but pretty damn close!)

    Dangerous: Good, but not great

HIStory: disk 1 is EXCELLENT/ disk 2 is alright

Blood on the Dance Floor: alright

    Invincible: alright

  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion as far as when Michael had his best music. There are people who believe he had good music in later years but it got overshadowed by his personal life...and I agree with that.

  • The tide was already shifting away from Qunicy by BAD so I'm glad MJ went in another direction for DANGEROUS, which IMO, was much better than BAD.

  • that dangerous album sucked

  • dangerous = black or white, remember the time, heal the world, in the closet, who is it?, will you be there?, give into me ... how could you say that sucked???

  • they did have good messages but musically i couldnt get into it except for remember the time it was like something was missing i dunno what but it didnt feel like michael

  • you're missing something because it was done by his body double e'casanova

  • he look like michael but he cant szing for sheet

  • I hate to say this because i love michael jackson..but quincy spent more tome with MJ then any of us that are commenting on this video...The FACT IS that MJ's skin did change, along with his looks...his kids are white..why didn't he have black kids?. He says vitiligo..i say who the fuck knows..

  • i read a article were it said that the the mother of MJs kids used a sperm donor. so they were not michaels. its in danish so i cant link it -.-

  • who else apart from michael jackson, he is too faced old man, how can he say michael didnt like being black, when Q hmself had all his girfriends and wives are white. what does that make him.

  • Noone made Michael. God did. His gift was from the heavens.

  • Cant stand this guy, I hope he disappears the way he talkin like he is the one who found Michael, if he is that good which other artist has he produced that are as big as Michael. I see envy, jelousy comin.MIOUW. R.I.P Michael

  • you idiot. He produced MJs biggest selling albums.

  • How stupid are u ? U dont know shit about the music industry. Without Q as the producer of Off the wall,Thriller & Bad MJ had never made his success.

  • yes, you say Q made MJ.... Can he make another MJ now?? huh?... yea i don't think so.

they leech of eachothers... so don't give him too much credit that he soo not deserve.

  • good point. If Q made him then he surely could make another...

  • "If Q made him then he surely could make another....."

I disagree..... A producer does not make, he merely nudges and shapes what is latent in an artist. He refines what is there to begin with. Michael Jackson was a very creative, talented soul who looked at the world around him through a very different perspective, colored by what was within and his upbringing

  • If you were thinking, then you would realize that is what I am saying! Don't be so quick to disagree, but be quick to comprehend.

  • Its not so much that I was so quick to disagree as I was making a point. You just don't make an artist. Michael was the type of artist that only happens once in a life time, and perhaps even longer. I will admit that is possible for Q to produce another artist of this magnitude but I think its unlikely.

  • Again, I am saying the exact same thing as you...

  • I agree if QJ had an opp to work with someone that posessed the same amount of talent or even half that of MJ technically he should be able to produce another "thriller" equivalent. Then their paring could have been a case of right time and conditions.

  • Ha right...Quincy, what ever happened to Al B. Sure???? Haha!

  • ...and he never said anything like that, and Michael would be the first to admit Quincy was basically his mentor, and you're a disrespectful moron.

Michael would be ashamed to have a fan like you.

  • Quincy Jones did not "make" MJ, MJ had already been famous for a decade or more b4 he came into the picture. Yes, he was instrumental to MJ's transition from child star to superstar, but as many ppl have pointed out, it's not something that can be recreated. They certainly are both talented but there's also the extra element of historical moment. Even if there was someone else with the magnitude of MJ's talent right now, could Quincy make them into a megastar? Probably not.

  • every artist has that one producer in which they click to make some of the best music

  • Rest in power Michael. You were one of a kind. May you have eternal peace.

  • R.I.P. M.J
