Luckily Nakhorn Sri Thammarat still survive and keeping Mon heritage alive under Malay protectorate.Long live Mon!!!Revive Mon language and urge everyone in Myanmar and Thailand speak Mon again!!
I am Mon decent of South Thailand.I'm proud and will always proud of my heritage.I don't want share anything with Khmer, they are our colonizer in Thailand and they claim us as Khmer just because we can't prove we are older community in Thailand because their Angkor kingdom had crushed our glorious land in Central Thailand : (
ahaahaahahah... we conquered your land from central thailand! Our kingdom controlled that land down south way before you guys during Nokor Phnom kingdom. We khmers don't want anything to do with you guys!
From what I understand, Mon and Khmer languages are not tonal, different from Thai, Lao, Chinese, and Vietnamese. However, both languages are not the same. These two languages could share with each other with some words, such as water, hairs, etc... Even Khmer language today might not be exactly the same as Khmer hundread years ago, so are Mon. Khmer now may not entirely understand Khmer in the past. So we can't understand Mon this way too.
