  • Studio 54 was CBS Studio 52. It's adjacent to CBS Studio 50 (Ed Sullivan Theater). I was there a couple years ago. I saw a one woman show with Carrie Fischer in Studio 54.

  • Perry Como will always be one of the best singers that ever lived.

  • Perry Como was the antithesis of everything Studio 54 was about. I'm trying to imagine some asshole bouncer at a theater door, turning away blue-haired ladies who'd stood in line to hear Perry sing... lol.

  • i was very lucky to have seen Perry in the mid seventies when he did a concert at The London Palladium,a memorable evening ,thank you Perry ,god bless and keep you warm

  • Studio 54 was once CBS Studio 52. Mark Goodson game shows were produced there including "What's My Line?" and "I've Got a Secret". I was in Studio 54 in November, 2009 for a Carrie Fisher one woman show.

  • Class will always out.

  • Class always shows. Mr. C. had class & he didn't have to work at it. I never knew that his TV studio had become Stuido 54. What a hoot! I liked it as his TV studio best. But, then agian, I never was at Studio 54. For that matter, nor was I ever in his TV studio. So, maybe I should just shut up. ;-)

  • and some people claimed that Perry Como is corny w/that cradigan sweater..Id say theyre tersely devoid of any common sese and those who mocked the cardigans have no sense of fashion..

  • Hello Everyone! What a wonderful man ( and place) I have a picture of me behind that music stand! I was there that night... of course after this recording... STUDIO was a great place... does anyone know what happened to the clip of STUDIO 54 : You're my Number one dee Jay ( or just Dee Jay) I was in it with friends and I think it got deleted. I sure would loveto know how to see it again!

  • I may have the entire show...if you contact me in about 8 weeks, I'll check. I won't be around for that period of time.

  • Brings back a flood of childhood memories of a wonderful man and singer. Thank you for this post.

  • This was from Perry's 1983 Christmas in New York special. Perry loved doing this segment and the whole show there in general. He was a wonderful person, friend and all around great and talented person, we miss him more everyday, especially around the holidays. He was truly a one of a kind person the likes of which we will never see again!

  • Nice. Great look at Perry Como AND Studio 54. (Cracks me up tho when he says he says he hopes he left some vibes behind. I wanna ask him if he thinks those vibes have have contributed to all kinky sex and rampant drug use that went on at Studio.) ;)

  • Very nice, sadly missed

  • What a great video! Thanks for sharing. What year was this?

  • He was a great singer with a real smooth voice, too bad a lot of the young people never heard of him.

  • What a precious, little gem! More Perry, please... Thanks for posting.

  • How wonderful!!! THANK YOU so much for sharing this - I'm just thrilled !!!

    janice
