  • so sad!

  • All black racism and cliches here -- no real insight into America or hope for improvement. Anyone who wants to live in a tolerant or bigotry-free world needs to look elsewhere.

  • I like the video and appreciate its very important message. But please don't forget that Dr. Kenneth Clark did not conduct his groundbreaking research alone. His wife, Dr. Mamie Clark, was also a psychologist and co-directed their 'doll studies' about race stereotypes. Dr. Mamie Clark was the first black woman to earn a Ph.D. from Columbia University, and was a true pioneer in both her field and her society. Given your topic, I am disturbed that you neglected to mention her in your video.

  • Good video nice job. Alot of people may seem lost as do i sometimes and i'm only in America for 4 years but when you leave your culture and roots behind its hard you get lost and frustrated.. No matter where you are you automaticaly want to fit its just natural.. All you need is to visit your place and get in touch with your backgrounds and understand it and when you have it will all make sence and you will feel a 100%

  • that is to sad about the kids.. but we can start changing that in teaching our kids to love them selfs jus the way they are by start loving our selft and accepting that avery color have its oun beauty if we can try in look it without the influence of what other people thinks we can discover that we all are beautifull in our oun way.

  • to get the full effect of what black hair is supposed to be like you would have to grow it out for the same amount of time that someone with good hair grew theres out to get it that long.. in such a case you would have so much hair.. a lot of extra hair.. it makes up for the fact that it isn't straight.. black people get too many hair cuts and stuff that is why they look ugly they don't grow their hair for the same amount of time.. if they did then that is the equivalent of what the hair shud b

  • I don't have words to express the pain and anger towards the stupid notions that society imposes on our children... how can this still be happening in our century? The reactions of the children to this experiment made me cry :(

  • watch?v=0jw3xZO_iNk

  • Im light skinned and i think there is nothing wrong with black people

i hate racist people its not nice!!!! i mean dark skinned people are normal there is nothing wrong with them and out of anything whites are the weird ones not blacks

  • @beanielover10 So you hate yourself ? Because saying that all whites are weird is racist you ignorant shit.

  • And what makes you think blacks hate America? I'm sure that if they were fed up enough, they would have left a long time ago. Just because we attach African to our name, it doesn't make us any less of Americans. I mean...where were black people before the Europeans brought them to America? In Africa. You can't just expect African Americans to just diss their roots because they are in another country.

  • Please, please get an education and know your history, instead of waisting your time watching video about blacks that you so-called "hate".You LOVE black people really. When you hate its really a passion.Proof :you're here watching this.If you really hate us at least ignore us but you can't! Black people will never be ignored!! HA ha ha!!! Haters are fan in denial ! :) I Love haters! See we never hate someone with a old used car, we hate the one with the nice mercedes benz or ferrari!!! xoxoxo

  • Whoa whoa, a genocide against the white race?Did I miss something or maybe are you from South Africa? Are you a kkk because it seems like you are brain-washed or something. There has been 400 years of slavery, millions of Africans kidnapped and murdered, and I still don't hate white people.I love every body because I love myself. There is a wonderful loving and caring person inside of you.But you are blinded by fear and hatred. You know what, I only have love for you despite everything you said.

  • Okay listen girl!! that said stuff about dark and light skin yeah right just cause your dark doesnt meen your not pretty you are gorgouse PROMISE!!!

  • That was so thoughtfully made.. I wish that the media would show us more stuff like this.. I've never thought about it like that before. By the way this is from a 16 year old white girl from Britain x

  • pretty darn sad but real.

  • This movie was perfect. YOu have a future in documentary making :) Well done.

  • Very, very timely and well done.

  • Really nice work, 5star!! Good subject to film, and the kids with the dolls were amazing...because it's white :)

Imo it's not only problem with b/w, actually what fashion and marketing are doing, is a bad influence. Viva la Benetton!!!

  • I wish more people knew how the media and/or other facters are pushing people to think it's beautiful to look more caucasian because even as a Mexican girl, it would even affect me. I would like to see people like Halle Berry or Jennifer Lopez look more like their culture.

  • sigh...sad

  • African Americans are not Isrealites. Jewish people became slaves in Egypt. They didn't become a different race. They are all from Jacob and not African. That is kind of like saying white Americans are Africans because they owned slaves. Of course that isn't logical and neither is your arguemnt that Africans are Israelites simply because Israelites were slaves to Egytians. Why do you think Africans and Jewish people have a different skin color? Not to argue. Just stating the obvious.

  • judaism is a religion, not a race

  • i thought your video was great it really should open peoples eyes.

booboolame you are just stupid and need to shut your fat mouth

  • your mother

  • booboolame. you are a fucking idiot. you deserve to die.

  • that video is unbelievable...really powerful. i can't believe the experiment with the kids; it's so sad.

  • Very good video. So sad that so many black females feel this way, even the little children. I'm a white male and I love black women, and I personally prefer dark skin over light skin, although all black women are beautiful!

  • thank you for sharing this very good film. I had tears in my eyes while watching, especially the part with the children - the prejudice against the own race. That is so very sad.

  • even though i grew up with relatives who told us to stay in the house so we dont get dark, my mami still only gave me black barbies and baby dolls. i like this vid. it reminds me of that.

  • What did your mother mean with "to get dark"? That one I didn't understand.

  • well like in most cultures like mine the lighter you are, the prettier you are. and my aunts would say do go outside (in the sun) so i won't get dark. i didn't listen to them, because my mother said that dark is beautiful, as every color or skin tone is. to make it shorter, going out in the sun makes your skin darker, but i don't care, i used to when i was younger, but not anymore.

  • That depends, in some cultures pale skin means illness and tanning means healthiness.

Also when I compare my childhood to yours it was vice versa. My mum encouraged me to play outside in springtime so I would get some tan. But I'm from country where you get less than 6hrs of sunlight a day in midwinter and if there is cloudy weather might be you won't see sun in a week. No wonder Finland has one of the world's highest suicide numbers..

  • yes i heard that britain was number one. good thing you don't live there. lol. i think it takes a mentally strong person to deal with no sun. and i know what you mean about bein tan, but with minorities, they try to encourage us to be lighter so that we would be more accepted. even though i have brown skin, i'm still accepted, so thats bull... but keep having fun in your sun, and stay strong ;)

  • i agree with annie, black skin looks so beautiful. trust me, when you have white skin flaws are more noticeable.

  • well in the experiment the interviewer clearly leads the kids with her questions...

  • but Africans girls are really pretty! lol Sometimes I wish I look like um!

  • Great doc. so true.

  • Great video. Definitely a favorite.

  • great video

  • this video was great it reminds me of what inspired me to go natural

  • 15 out of 21 children, damn. I have thought all of those thoughts b4. I'm glad this doc. is out there to expose the truth, and what the truth should be.

  • this is really Enlightening!

  • Good short doc!

  • This is serious
