  • Lol I would never want one of these retarded wantabe consoles.

  • My god. I begged for that damn thing when i was a kid. I played it twice.... it sucked..... so fucking bad....

  • My brother got one of these. I was jealous until I tried it out. I think it came from Best Buy. I miss the days of charming alternatives to mainstream gaming devices. Why don't we strap shit to our faces anymore?

  • I remember my parents buying me that when I was a kid. It was a POS. Seriously it was. LOL. But the idea was cool so thats why I wanted one. I gave it to my younger nephew a year or two later. He probly threw it away. LOL. I would never buy one again even though i'm now a collector.

  • It's like a budget virtual boy! : p

  • Great channel! subscribed

  • PeteDorr brought me here

  • He Did ??

  • Ha ha... i totally had one of these! I didn't know it was a rarity, that kinda makes me feel special, even tho the system wailed miserably!

  • Ended up here cause of a video (Starwars Retroperspective - Gametrailers) an needed to see the device itself in full video glory. Thanks for sharing the vid, another piece of garbage for my videogame encyclopedia ;).

  • Lol Glad I Could Help.

Check Out My Other Reviews, You Might Enjoy Them As Well =D

  • XPG? XTREME POCKET GAME?? Oh man, I wish Sony would have called their new handheld "XPG" instead of Vita. "Sony Xtreme Pocket Game". .... sounds awesome

  • great video... u stoped me from making a huge mistake...

  • If You Are Buying It To Add To A Collection Than I Say Go Ahead.

If You Are Buying It For Entertainment & Fun....STAY FAR AWAY !!!

  • @KurizuMSan i remenber when i was a kid the commercials of this... i thought back then it was so cool... i found one in local "ebay" for about $50. but after searching for reviews and watching this, i guess i am so much "contaminated" with xbox and ps, that im not having the fun with it as much as when i was a kid.

  • Wha !? Is That What You're Selling It For Or

Is That How Much You Seen It Being Sold On Ebay?

  • If i remember correctly, Tiger's LCD games were not the Dollar Store type

When they were new, They were either 20 to 30 bucks at best

plus Tiger promoted the hell outta the LCDs on TV and in print

  • By the gods that was awful... not the video, that's awesome, but the R-Zone... what a load of crap.

  • i am selling this console with batman . if anyone interested. it`s in good shape, i`m just not a video game collector.

  • How Much Are You Selling It For ?

  • If you want to propose a price, the console is in great condition, work like the first time. if you want i can send you pictures. i also if you are looking for a gamegear i have one with sonic.

  • @MyNinjaPersona I will give you 36 cents for it all

  • Great review!! This system is hilarious, lol. :D

  • Although you might have been too young, surely as a retrogamer you know of the lcd games of the 80's (such as Nintendo's Game&Watch series)?

This R-Zone was basically a red-tinted multiple lcd game player.

As such it's quite good, though it's about ten years too late. Still, if Tiger had marketed it as such, I think it would have been better received, atleast by lcd game fans.

  • Lol I'm A Lot Older Than I Look But

Yes I'm Well Aware Of Lcd Chip Games

(Such As The Game & Watch Series.

Perhaps You Took What I Said A Little

Differently Than They Way It Was Intended.

  • @KurizuMSan why did you capitalize everything?

  • This Is Just The Way I Type.

I Have Been Typing Like This For Years.

Also I Type Faster Like This (Which Is Amazing To Some People)

  • @KurizuMSan thankyou for not freaking out, I've been arguing with pro-anarchists for days now.

  • Lol You're Welcome ? I Very Rarely Freakout...

    Buddha Wouldn't Like It =D

  • great review :D

  • HAHA! i remember playing that game yeeeeeeaars ago. I had the millenium falcon game, and at the time was pretty awesome. Wow the 90's were great.

  • I think the millenium falcon game got re released later on as a seperate regular tiger handhold I had.

  • WOW Nothing like the commercial which actually showed clips from the saturn and n64 and ps1 versions of the games i think lol

  • @ChubbyLuigi

the arcade versions..... not the console versions (im pretty sure of it)

  • Should of called it the "Tiger R-TARD" INSTEAD ROFL.

  • Looks like a scouter from Dragon Ball Z lol.

  • I have this one too, i just playe it for 2 hours ...and never play it again, like 7 years after, goes to trash.

  • Great rev! I never even knew that this console existed :P

  • I HAVE ONE OF THESE!!!!!!!!!

  • 40 or 50 bucks for this!? xDDDD

shit and i do remember i wanted this shit XDDD

actually had 1 game of tiger...it was sonic 3....the next day i got dat.....i gave it to a poor neighbor...it was so shitty the game play xD

  • kinda remind me of the Konami's Lasers-cop or something

  • oh man i remember these. i got some crappy ninja one that i thought would be cool but it really sucked balls. that was a long time ago...

  • Your voice is really gravely. It's weird. I dunno i kinda like it o-o

  • I Apologize For My Slightly Froggy Voice.

  • Xmas 1995. I asked Santa for a Virtual Boy, I got this piece of crap. Lol! Turns out the Virtual Boy wasn't exactly great either, but this thing was like playing a tiger lcd game under a red light, that's all it was. My greatest use for this thing didn't come until 13 years later, when I sold it in excellent condition, in it's original packaging on eBay for $140.

  • @HarlequinBuckeye LOL "I asked Santa for a Virtual Boy, I got this piece of crap" epic

  • When I was a wee lad I would regularly go to my friend Adam Smith's (not a made up name or anything, his name's just like... super generic) house, and on some visits played Mortal Kombat on this sucker. Granted I was like five, so my memory on the thing was that it was the absolute beez neez, and for the next fifteen years of my life would remember "the awesome red future eye thing" to be amazing. Yesterday I found out what it really was. I have no clue why I have such fond memories of it.

  • R-ZONE makes the Atari 2600 looks like a XBOX-360 and great review thumbs up

  • I got one, and FYI you press left and go right and vis-versa, because tiger wasn't smart enough to realize they were trying to control a mirror image.

  • Lol You Poor Soul. Did You Get It Recently ?

Yeah The Control Is Pretty Bad.

  • @KurizuMSan nah, i got it for xmas the year it came out i think i got a few games with it, MKtrilogy, batman forever, daytona USA, virtua fighter, all were very lame, i was pumped about it until i realized i could only play at night. I remember bringing it to school and eveyone was like wow, until they realized to play it they had to put a gym towel over there head. lol

  • Lol Yeah It Looks So Cool And Futuristic Until You Play It.

After You Put It On...Well...You Just Feel Like Jackass Lol

  • You are pretty brave for subjecting yourself to this awful virtual boy knockoff. Hope your eyes recovered quick after dealing with those crap games

  • Oh god. I had hoped I'd never have to see this again. I saved up my money for this when I was a kid. I had batman forever. I played it on the school bus. I lacked a reasonable social life from then on till I changed schools.

  • i had one one these, too. i remember somewhat enjoying it. those advertisements really did make it look cool, yes. i think i had Indy 500 and like some Batman game or something. thanks for this review.. i was hoping to relive some classic retro moments!!

  • Hhahahaha made u look like an ideot

Now they like have those things in mc donalds happy meals

  • I actually remember that thing when I was a child. Good thing I didn't get it back then.

  • I'd rather have my virtual boy ruin my eyes with red alarm and marios tennis than play the R-Zone!!!

  • Man I wanted this SOOOO bad when I was a kid lol glad I didnt get it

  • how much did it cost when it came out?

  • $40 - $50.

  • Interesting overview! I enjoyed it! ^_^

  • Horrible games, but great looking system non the less. How did you tape the gameplay? Fantastic review btw.

  • Yeah It Looks Great And Was Futuristic For It's Time.

The Games Suck And Aren't Really Worth Playing.

It Was A Difficult Task I Will Say That.

I Had To Angle The Camera Just Right

At The Little Drop Down Screen.

  • i had one of these... dont remember getting any enjoyment out of playing it, but i did play it lol... had virtua fighter, virtua cop (i rem playing that one the most), daytona 500, and mortal kombat... wonder if i can find it

  • lmao sounds like steve-o

  • It May Have.

They Never Did That Much Advertising On Tv.

It Was Mostly Ads In Magazines And Such.

  • i remember the first time i saw the commercial for the headset and right then i knew i would never want this piece of crap. cool review though, it was neat finally seeing what this thing was really like. just as i thought, it sucks.

  • That's Exactly Why I Waited Until

I Was Older To Buy It On Ebay For Cheap.

I Knew Full Well It Was Going To Be Terrible

When I Pressed The "Buy Now" Button Lol.

  • I subbed because of this video. Great review of the first gen R-zone!

  • Thanks =D

  • I had one of those things!

    It didnt worked for me...

  • i remember being the coolest kid in school when this first came out lol

  • OMG...Were You The Kid In The Advert !?!?

  • ZOMG I had this. but it never worked! :D And I probably don't have it anymore

  • Most of the Tiger Electronics games where crap. The games where like $30, where as a gameboy boy game was $40.

  • Of course that kid is feeling awesome because he is making money for being on the box. And after he got the money he told his parents to buy SNES and nothing else. He know everything out there are garbage.

  • Good review!

  • I got this for $2.99 at walmart because I switched the price tag. I still got ripped off.

  • Recently ?

    I Don't Think It Was R-Zone.

Maybe You Bought Something Else Similar To This.

  • @KurizuMSan it was 15 years ago. I had Virtua Fighter for it

  • o0o0o0o Okay Then.

I Asked Because I See Now They Sell A Handheld

Very Similar To R-Zone An It Cost 35 Dollars !

  • i had one of these. it was rubbish

  • @crouts0 - Very True

  • 4:38 - AHHHHHH!!! LMFAO!!!!!!! If I saw a kid wearing this in grade school, I would have wanted to kick his ass. And break that thing, and send the pieces to his parents.

  • Whoa Whoa Whoa You Need To Relax !!

  • 1:45 Did you just call this a "lovely" console????? UGH!!

  • Apparently You Do Not Hear The Sarcasm In My Voice.

  • great review!

  • this reminds me of the virtual boy.

  • Yep But Sadly The Virtual Boy Is Way Better Than This

  • I think the projector projects the game backward. Notice that the score is reversed.

  • Yes It Does But Yet....The Controls Are Still Messed Up Lol.

    Maybe It's Just Mine ? I Donno.
