The original mantra does not have Om in the second line. The mantra got adulterated by Rammohan Roy by adding an extra Om in the second line (source: wikipedia). You don't play with mantras like this. Our great Rishis have given this mantra as a gift from the source it should remain in its pristine form. NOT a syllable should be added or removed from the mantra. It is extremely disappointing to see popular labels reciting the wrong mantra !!!

The original mantra does not have Om in the second line. The mantra got adulterated by Rammohan Roy by adding an extra Om in the second line (source: wikipedia). You don't play with mantras like this. Our great Rishis have given this mantra as a gift from the source it should remain in its pristine form. NOT a syllable should be added or removed from the mantra. It is extremely disappointing to see popular labels reciting the wrong mantra !!!
