i don't really look at film as being more fun to shoot...it's just necessary to shoot on film. really, nothing looks like film. i've shot on RED and it doesn't even quite compare, and you can't really get any closer. film is more expensive, yes, but it is necessary for good work. i mean nobody will look at hriing anyone who doesn't know the ins and outs of shooting with most ARRI or PANAVISION cameras.

Where is your steadycam video results of that? I've yet to see a convincing video of the ModoSteady showing a smooth gliding video. I'm not yet ready to fork out $90 for it.

you aren't going to get a perfect steadycam for under $1000. i've worked with enough equipment to know that. the modosteady serves its purpose. people who expect perfect steady results are thinking very unrealistically.

Not true. I got the Hague MMC and it gives a nice perfect gliding steadicam for around $100 - of course it's only for small camcorders. It kills the ModoSteady in terms of as a steadicam. I bought the ModoSteady though and it's still better than nothing; the tripod is pretty good.

I've never used that, although I haven't really shot on video in quite some time. All of the work I do not is on the ARRI SR2

Film is more fun to shoot but it just gets way too expensive. I'm just a student. I think video with a 35mm adapter can look just as good as film though.
