The beauty of the 1970s Lionel was that he was free to create based upon what was inside him, what he obviously had grown up with. When I was just 13 yrs old, HBO was very new... and I was glued to the TV to watch this HBO Special Presentation, The Commodores Live From Las Vegas. I put my small "Realistic" brand cassette recorder next to the speaker and recorded most of the songs. I wore that tape out listening to Jesus Is Love.
