Since you own a book store, you heard about Summary Judgement right? If I were you I would have grilled the Plantiff's Attorney in Discovery, and I would ask motion summary judgement to the Judge for filing a malicious and frivolous accusation, countersued the Plantiff for Fraud, and Deceptive Trade, and file a complaint with the Bar Greivence Comm. of the State Bar and Federal Bar (If said attorney held such license.) The lawsuit problem is not just the lawyers but our elected judges too.

Michigan has the most stringnet "tort reform" in the country and has it halped its economy? NO! All tort reform does is further damage victims. Tort reform is all about corporate greed.
ada laws have gone to far. They should be regulated through the goverment and if your out of complaince you should get a goverment notice and 6 months to fix it before any fines are placed. This is BS that people can go around sueing for a living!
@rockcrawlerfin We do have that in place already through the EEOC. They are already caps in Workplace discrimination cases. Also Federal Courts do review cases before they allow them in pro se cases. For Housing they do that too. Also many non government buildings built before 1992 are not subject to the archetical barriers provisions of the ADA. You don't win a million plus dollars in ADA and Civil Rights cases *unless it involves say police brutality. State laws however can be more strict
