Apparently after using their limit break, overdrive, mist, driving mode, call it whatever you want, the summon disappears...I bet they're weak and useless like in ff12...FF10 will always have the best summoning system. You can use them until you dismiss them/they die/win the battle.

wow...if you were paying attention to any of the info being released about this game, you know that the summons are to have a major role in the story like final fantasy 6. They wont be weak like final fantasy 12 thats for sure, and to be honest i would rather my summon use one huge attack than have them play next to me all the battle.

I liked the summons in the other games better, too, especially the simple callings in Final Fantasy 6,7,8 and 9, but this time I like the way, the Eidolons are woven into the story. The onl ything I hate about them, is that they are so damn difficult to beat mostly. Their designs are pretty futuristic and cool this time and I'm anxious to see Bahamut (for my favourite Leviathan is not to be seen since FF9, sniff).

They're planning to release the PS3 version with the Japanese and English voices, but they don't think the Xbox 360 version will be able to hold the data. The Xbox version is probably going with only English voice acting =/

There's a clip on youtube that shows her and Odin together like a traditional summon (FFX style I think with just her and the Eidolon)

Exactly, that's his alternate form. He transform into more a human mode when Lightning summons him, pretty bad ass, similar to the shiva sisters and carbunkle.
