When I see a big beautiful girl, who's got it together and doing her thing, I think more power to her because I know it can't be easy with as much as people ridicule other's but I'ma also keep it real and see a big girl looking "crazy" I think she knows she's wrong for that because it's just encouraging the stereotypes.
that is so true about that high school i thing. i remember whne it was so hard to find plus sizes clothing i would have to go all over the place to just find some jeans that fit but now we got alot of options like, torrid, forever 21 got a plus size section, target, avenue, dots, wet seal
i work for lane bryant so i see and deal wit plus size divas, confidence, etc daily and i definately believe a person should wear whats flattering to their specific shape and style. EXAMPLE i believe no ps diva should be wearing lacy leggings and a 2 little shirt (HATED IT!!!) im a plus size diva whose life revolves around fashion and i do believe u need to have ur own style and i may not like ur specific style and swag but there is a THICK line that can and has been crossed.
All I can say is people need to stop worrying about what other people are doing and wearing...if its in your size wear it...NO ONE IS PERFECT!!!.....just be clean and dont invade someone else's space....if you dont like it, dont look!! keep it moving and concentrate on your own flaws....if the world was the same it would be BORING!....everything aint for everybody but its up to the individual to make the decision as to what is for them..NOT SOME ONE ELSE!
PREACH! Love it! I was a plus size 'big girl' in high school when Lane Bryant's was the only store for plus size girls when they didn't have much of a selection of clothing. Actually, I was a 'big girl' for most of my life up until last year when I decided to lose the extra weight. I've got no judgments on what 'big girls' wears. All I can say is that there are a lot of options out there now so they can define their own style.
big or small I can't stand dirty and sloppy dressers. As long as I don't see booty cheeks, hoohas, or nipples then I'm cool with what people are wearing.
Regardless of your size, you should dress to complement your body. At the end of the day, its really not anyone's business what you wear-but we all have our opinions. :) More importanty, I would like to see US plus size Black women be more conscious of our health and be a HEALTHY role model for the ones coming up.
UMM I kinda get what the young lady is talking about. I work in a convience store and some people big and small have so much confidence in what they are wearing they just end up lookin a hot MESS. I've seen them. Nice big lady wearing CLEARLY something NOWHERE near the right size. say you wear a size 24 and you LOOK like you Stuffed yourself in a Juniors size 8-10. Really?! with Everything flowing Out!? Seriously, how is that cute or flaterring? Nowadays no one has to wear a tent. what gives!?
This vid is so true!! I Think women should wear what they want, no matter your size. If it looks good on you, wear it and don't give 2 seconds of thought to the people that don't like it.
love it...these WANABE plus size guru's...if its in your size and YOU like it and want it,,thats your personal choice...if someone dont like it ..so be it...
lol @ you aint the mf plus sized diva mascot lol but umm yea ima need you to take that wig off and send it right on ova here for my birthday on oct 28th
girl i know im confident when im butt naked LOL.... i know when i was bigger i dressed how i wanted except for wearing short dresses but after losing my weight i now wear short dresses an stuff... an not caring what a person has to say about it although ive never heard any one speak about it but i know i look good now an im still a big girl. but besides that.. i would never talk down about another woman specially seeing shes confident which is beautiful i love seeing that. i agree with you!
I'm so tired of women who self project their own issues onto others. I always say happy, secure women don't run around putting others down they try to lift them up. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's also the way you say things; her video was not coming from a place of concern, love or respect. I'm so sick of the way especially us black women treat each other. We're the first to put others down.
I agree with you one hundred percent Ms MuchLove. As far as your question... being a plus size lady myself... I love seeing plus size women in general. Of course if they have on ill fitting clothes, then a few thoughts may cross my mind.. but I would never go as far as verbalizing them to put someone down. Women should wear what makes them feel good...period. I believe having confidence is a beautiful thing and one can NEVER have too much : ).
as a very skinny girl, i have to say i hate when i see a big girl all covered up in baggy clothes. it looks like their trying to hide their body and there is no need for that.
Exactly what I was sayin. But more elegant. I feel like there is no right or wrong way to fashion. Because someones right could be someones wrong and vice versa. Thanks for chiming in on the topic Ms.Nina. Also to answer your question I am guilty of the "she shouldn't be wearing that" saying but if she is comfortable in wearing it then I commend her. Thanks MuchLove.
Most of the time, I feel one of two ways about plus-size people. I think that they look cute or they look bad. But I feel that way about EVERYONE! At the end of the day, singling out a group for extra criticism beg the question, what is it about them that you hate about yourself? It still shocks me when a person who battles weight issues will tell another fat bitch how gross they look because the self-loathing is so obvious. And with America getting fatter all the time, we may all be plus soon.
cont'd look below: I think plus sized women deserve more choices and not just low cut stuff b/c I do not wear that type of clothing. I am glad u did this b/c I and many other young PS women needed to hear this. Thank your advice and comments. I hope you would maybe do a segment about PS fashion one day. I would really appreciate it. Thanks Again Ms. Nina!
I was one of those girls who did not eat and wore jackets in the winter b/c I came from a family that was not up on fashion. I used to ask some of the other girls where they got their clothes but they would never tell me. I am 22 and a siz 22/24 but I am working to lose weight. When I got to college, things got some better. I am still learning about my body and clothes or what not. I have a ways to go but I am so glad to see the new plus size stores although they r high. I am glad 4 more choices
cant stop watching you vids even with the annoying adverts
but i think women need to dress in a way to compliment your height, size and shape. this doesnt mean covering up and looking like a potato sack. you are right there are a variety of clothes. i dont care what size you are please dont walk around half naked in daylight (slim girls are not the exception)
i give props where props is due big or small. in my circle folks tell will try me on the u dress cute for a big gurl or keep yourself up for a big gurl comments and i simply say thanks and move around for the simple fact that they dumb as hell if they think all big gurls supposed 2 have our heads hung low and envying everyone. screw that...i'm doing what is meant 4 me 2 do
Truthful words. We are to encourage and build up not discourage and tear down. THANK YOU for putting people in their places. Hopefully they will stay there. Love you...Keep on doing you.
Love the video. I said everything I feel and Think. Keep being u. I will always be a subbie. And I already can tell if losing weight. Go girl. I will probably do a response bus too
