Huh? I thought one of the general rules of an LP was that it should be of a game that's at least a year old? I think that's what I read over at the PA forums anyway which is whre you're quite an active member from what I understand.

Well, not like they're the master rules or whatever, but I don't think I'll be watching purely on the basis that it's still a reasonably new game and I might pick it up myself sometime.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat FINALLY has guides to pretty much take you anywhere, so it's a lot better in that aspect, though nothing matches the atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Never used the guides much at all. I preferred to trek my way through the zone for the atmosphere. And yeah, the atmosphere in SoC was absolutely amazing. Dunno but CoP just feels like a generic wasteland sometimes, but SoC had that atmosphere that really made it The Zone (except for those damn fences and semi-linearity with the 'loading next level'). Dat lab, man.

Also, I'm a cheap bastard. I ain't paying nothin' when I can just walk for free.

CoP's Pripyat is so expansive though, and thats one of the few things that scares me in CoP.

Otherwise, it just seems peaceful to me; rather then the unsettled SHoC Zone, or the bright Clear Sky Zone.

Stalker is a bad game to LP because Helloween has to record tons of footage and then cut out the parts that are really boring (like 80% of the running around) and that's it. AvP3 is a much better game for an LP. You should only LP Stalker if you have tons of time AND are a god at the game who can show you every nook and cranny you wouldn't see/find for yourself.

@TheLemonGrenade The STALKER games,with the right mods, are good almost statless RPG Shooters, definitely. The setting hasn't been overused yet and they managed to present it in a realistic and very bleak way. The biggest problem is that the biggest fun factor of these games is the exploration. And you can't do that in an LP. If you watch a video,you can't say "OMG GO OVER THERE! What's that!?" so the game loses a lot of it's funfactor. Hence a very hard to do LP reserved for pros.

Having played both, I've gotta say you picked the far worse option with AVP.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is far more in line with the sort of stuff you cover.
