  • I have the P27Q. Extremely well designed model. Flies brilliantly extremely slow or extremely fast. Not for beginners I do not think but wow, I always get a rush from flying this one. Can fly it in very small confined parks because landing with full up elevator drops it right in front of your feet or you can catch it if you want.

  • Stryker is such a great plane!!!! out of the box or about anything you do and it will fly! Shrugs most crashes off. Crows HATE them! :D A very quick and responsive plane but once you get it mostly down it is amazing chase and fly-by fun. I modded my radians(three)like crazy before I loved them,,,Stryker is hot out of the box. I mod them too but just because it is fun to.

  • @shoegooguru thanks for watching, ya think you have to let go of the stryker to do the inverted harrier lol but that's ok, Takes a bit to get into it, and if there's too little throw or too much nose weight, gets really hard. We actually hand launch them inverted like that as well, and catch them too. I've been flying Strykers basically for as long as I've been doing RC. Awesome jet, unfortunately, will be hard to get soon too. Buy foam bodies LOL I'll send you a vid too

  • How much do you charge to trim my lawn?

  • Does it matter if my hand is on the plane while I do the invert?????

  • should it harrier inverted better than normal caz the air to the verticals are blocked by the wing when ur normal high alpha?

  • @archedperson ya that, and the natural balance at the bottom with the rudders hanging down. It doesn't do it right side up well at all. The rudders would get the same amount of air as the elevons would, which is still not much though

  • I'm curious, seeing how slowly you fly this low above the ground, is this a good learner model?

  • @madivad Not really, this is an advanced maneuver with a normally very fast plane. For a starter or trainer plane, you should get a supercub, from hobbyzone, or a mini supercub. Or if you want to go even smaller a champ. The supercub is the best deal though, and for a second plane, a Parkzone Trojan is a perfect next step

  • @madivad yes, this CAN be a very fast plane. it can also be set up to fly quite slow and takes ground whacks better than any tee wing will. I started on a flight sim and my first planes were a radian AND a stryker. I nosed the stryker on my first couple of launches and then it was all over the sky enjoyment after I got the feel of the plane down. The bigger question might be: do you have the basic skills for ANY plane memorized and automatic? best 'starter plane' is a flight sim. $30 on Amazon.

  • @madivad he is flying very slow BUT listen to the motor...it is winding some big revs to hold that steep angle. an inverted plane is flying against it;s nature and only very specific control/angle and the prop speed to keep it there will let it happen. Do not be fooled by the plane speed here. It is easier to fly this plane at FULL on speed than to do what these guys are doing. Get a flight sim. if you can't do it there first...don't rish your plane. those v-stabs are $8.00 a pair!

  • Very skillful flying.. I haven't tried that yet.. I love my Stryker and flying it flat out.. nice and fast.

  • I can do inverted circles with my PZ spit...

  • Nice job! Maybe someone already asked but is CG same as stock?

  • @tonythetaper Yes, no real change to the CG. it helps if the nose is a bit heavy, keep the angle down so enough air goes over the surfaces. Thanks for watching

  • Badass plane, Awsome vertical

  • @DrCurve69 these are awesome planes, I hope Parkzone continues to make this model as well as the new F27Q Stryker

  • Badass plane, Awsome vertical

  • You say in the description that this isn't something a Stryker should be able to do. That's not entirely accurate; high-alpha is actually something deltas generally excel at. The reason it's easier inverted is that the vertical stabilizers get a better bite of air - put some extensions on the bottom, and you should be able to go even slower upright, since the airfoil will be working with you.

  • @tehcrazybob most delta that excel at this are not a single wing though, like an F18 or other jets. They also generally have more surfaces to do this type of thing, fronterons, flying elevator surfaces. The angle the stryker sits at, barely gets enough air going over the wings and all the way down to the surfaces to keep control, but it's enough. If you point the nose up any more, you lose it A lighter battery or too high of headwinds, and no useful air go over the surfaces

  • nice. im sure those planes can do other things too... right?

  • @ejustic1 The stryker has a very broad flight envelope. From very fast, and unlimited vertical to very slow and unpowered flight. Glides very well. It's not supposed to be able to inverted harrier, not with a Delta Wing, but there's just the right balance with these to get them to do it. Stryker is one of the best bangs for your buck in 3cell foam planes, and very durable

  • great job!

  • @justfly60482 thanks for watching, we do formation inverted harriers with a few guys for practice, such a riot

  • Richtig Geil :-D....!

  • now you have to hover it

  • @RCboy221 would need rudders to hover it

  • @warderseeker even with rudders it would be hard because they aren't in the prop wash right? If no air is flowing over them, they wouldn't really provide control. Same for the elevator/ailerons.

  • @bschwghrt yes, it'd definitely be hard but not impossible. There is a new Stryker, an F27Q out in May, it's got working rudders and an outrunner motor

  • @RcWorld7 60amp esc should be ok, but don't want it to be too heavy. A 25C lipo works good on these align 3700kv motors, 25C is the minimum as they draw a lot doing this stuff

  • Great job

  • @4599837 thanks a lot, we do formation with a few of them now, all in harriier mode

  • Nice job fellas. Thanks for posting.

  • @bluedog1976 thanks a lot, got a lot of guys doing this now, and do it in formation together as well

  • i'm getting my stryker 2morow! is this stryker the stock setup?

  • @Pilotsofer it's been done with stock setup, but a little easier with the motor we've been using. It's the align 430 with a 3700kv motor. Go for about 50 bucks and needs a 54amp esc to handle the amps with a 6X4 prop

  • @warderseeker i've tried it and it's pretty hard. i can do it with my funtana 125

  • @Pilotsofer It really "locks" in place at about 1/2 throttle or more with the stock motor, and you need a TON of down elevator, almost 45 degrees. Yes, any of the 3D type planes not a problem, Strykers will do it though.

  • @RonRiverRat Thanks, fun to learn, but ends up costing a few unpainted bodies LOL Give it tons of down elevator and throw a better than stock motor in it, helps a lot.

  • THATS nice piloting

  • @azdrtdog thanks a lot, going to be doing this with a few of them in formation this weekend at an event.

  • Stall, stall, stall, mayday-mayday!

  • Cry! I can't do that with mine... I fly 100' + up and keep it flat unless I am banking to turn, lol

  • i'm getting mine in a couple of weeks. maybe i'll do something like this

  • oh yeah, you think that's cool? I just put a variable pitch prop on mine and now I can do tick tocks just like my heli!!! Now that's crazy to see!! As soon as I can I'll upload my vids to challenge you!!

  • @plair473 OH YEAH!!! LMAO Buddy just put a variable pitch prop on his Trojan, so it can land and stop in 5 feet, plus reverse hahah

The deal is though, no mod to get the Stryker to do this, so .... LOL

  • I have one. HOW are you doing that

  • k thanks..think ill just order an extra everything for it lol..fly this 1 till it can take no more..and take your advise about the sim..theres alot of power lines around here yhink thats got something to do with the glitches on my planes..keep you posted on the supercub..and keep posting those great vids..

  • lol..l thanx..ill get the supercub in a couple weeks then..oh about the servos on the stryker being locked up..any ideas?

  • it is possible to get replacement gears for them, but bit tricky changing them. We put better servos like metal gear HS81's after the stock ones strip. Dont' know if you want to do that on a brushed stryker though, more weight you dont' want right now. When you have problems with these things, mostly you can just lower the power and pull up a bit, and they should stabilize a bit

  • supercub is another 180.00 how does it handle 5 to 10 mph winds?

  • the brushless supercub will handle the wind no problem, even the regular one, with just a lipo instead of the dry cells will be good in the wind

  • its the f-27 b stryker..

  • the servos are locked in place when power is off..carbon fiber rods are fine was talking about the metal rod you said to remove..didnt see it.. the fuse broke in 3 places. but what do you think about the servos locked up?

  • oh the b stryker might not have one... brushed is a little harder to fly .

  • lol! thanx hot glued it..servos seem locked wont move..power on and they vibrate or shiver..lol hope its not the reciever..damnn!!what do you think ? and no metal bar broke in 3 places..it was the battery too heavy for the death spiral..thinking of getting the corsair..the hobbystore guy says it flies really smooth..what do you think? or does he want another 180.00 bucks lol..

  • both of them are locked with no power on them? can't move them? metal bar broke in 3 places, do you mean the carbon fibre tube glued in the bottom of the plane?

Corsair does fly pretty nice but if you want something for sure you can fly, and wont' damage huge if you do have problems, get the supercub first, and a simulator. You can download clearview and buy a 30buck usb transmitter and get some stick time in that way. I still use the sim all the time shitty days, practicing new stuff etc

  • dammnn!! that was awsome..i just got 1 gonna maiden it in the morning.wish me luck,,kinda nervous, lol will post a video response soon

  • lol cool man, they're a great plane. Don't try the inverted harrier though hahah fly it a bit first. Need really huge throws to do it, and helps with a kick ass motor and 6X4 sport APC prop

  • thanx bud..but tragedy struck..maiden went great..5th flight went inverted about 100 feet up straitened out went for a loop and barreled strait out..tried to turn and a horrible glitch..stryker didnt respond.. powered down nose dive.spirel all the way down broke in half..and when i recovered my stryker servos were shuttering..dont know if theyre stripped after crash or if its the reciever any advice would appreciate it.. ; (

  • ah crap, t'sok they glue really easy, even white glue or epoxy, use very little so as to not add weight. Also you can take the big bolt out of the nose piece, that's there for added nose weight, not needed. Move the servos with your hand and see if there's rough spots. We replace them usually with metal gear HS81's good for the fast flight and dont strip on bad landings. Also for aerobatics, after a few batteries have been in it, gets a bit loose, piece of velcro on battery and in the fuse

  • I loved the video of the strikers!

ALSO --please check out my flying man video

    BORNTAFLY

  • @borntafly thanks a lot, seen it, very cool Might have to get you to give me a quote.

Give me a good deal on one, and I"ll make an AWESOME video review for it for you

  • Update guys!! This has been done with a STOCK Stryker motor now, one of the local guys had his up, took a lot of throttle but was able to inverted harrier no problem. Everyone should be able to do this, well enough power to anyways lol

  • yep, stock set-up and 'locked-in' to full inverted harrier 'mode' . definately easier with full throws and more power though but I saw it too...

  • Great video. Decided to try it myself at lunch. Made 3 passes up high and tried a final lower pass. Ended almost exactly the same as the red and blue plane in your video. Nothing a little tape and gorilla glue won't fix. I have to hold full right on the controls to slow down the turn. Have you guys programmed in some additional flap to compensate way it wants to turn counterclockwise?

  • thanks a lot, yes, motor torque requires more aileron on one side to help you turn, but really you end of dropping a wing to get it to turn that way sharply. Give it lots of throws and down elevator. Gotta love the strykers for easy fixes too.

Flipping it back over and into normal flight is harder than the actual harrier too lol

    Keep trying

  • I would not think it is possible unless I saw it. These don't have thrust vectoring do they? Any CG changes?

  • hey jasmine, nope, no thrust vectoring, no real change to CG. If you make them too tail heavy they dont' fly well, but a little lighter battery is easier at first, and make sure the big bolt is taken out of the foam nose cone. They put it there for extra nose weight but its not needed

  • Awesome......

  • thanks dude

  • sweet bro...5*

  • thanks man, go get a stryker lol

  • Awesome flying Ronin. Of course I'm used to this from you. Love watching cocky rc''ers auger in trying to copy your moves.

    Cheers

  • ya, I did that rollover a couple times with the stryker when I first brought her down, but he's the 2nd so far. Super has done it up higher now, but needs to have more throws and he'll be good. CD's Stryker is bent lol, he'll be going new body soon

  • omg no way! Lol u guys make it look tooo easy lol! Thats really amazing and the flying is so smooth!!! Damn! 5*!

    RIP stryker at the end

  • ya well, compared to you doing chaos with the 700, it's tame lol

    Thanks man

  • Great video of the inverted Stikers flying alpha. On the earlier video of the Striker with the ducted fan; I was wondering if the fan gave it better performance?

  • Thanks Larry. No I don't think the ducted fan Stryker was very efficient compared to the pusher. Speed to amperage is probably a lot different. Stock stryker uses about 20amps I think, and that one was doing about the same as stock speeds. I'm sure it's putting out closer to 30 amps, both at 10volts or so under load

  • Nice video!!!

  • thanks, lots of fun Strykers are

  • Yoda.

  • very impressive control Ronin, 5 stars !

  • thanks beverke7, gotta be 1000s of stryker flights I've had since starting RC about 3 years ago. I remember having like 8 or 10 flights a day with it, loved it so much

  • love it!

  • thanks eatsleep3D. don't think anyone has done 3D with Strykers before lol

  • nice flying guys, see you down at the field next weekend.

  • sounds good, thanks for watching

  • You sir, are a Baaaaad Influence! LOL. Very Awesome!

  • ya know, RCRedBaron, I've been told that all my life lol

    thanks for watching man

  • WOW!!!! Great flying...

  • Thanks Pat, who woulda guessed strykers were so versatile lol

  • You should've scraped the vertical stabilizers on the ground!

  • mgrande11, I've actually scraped them a bunch now, but haven't caught it on film. Nose wants to drop real quick, but power up and she stays up.

I'll post a response with a bunch of rudder scrapes soon as I get some on video

  • Very impressive!

  • thanks a lot, moolikeacow2

  • What kind of throws do you have on the elevator and aileron? More than the box says for the high rates?

  • the throws are close to 45 degrees, ya way more than they suggest for high rates, but make sure if you have exponential, it's set to 40% or so, that way it's not as twitchy and have the ability to turn em down still on the switch

  • wow haha who knew a stryker could do that lol. makes me want to fly some more...tobad I dont have any planes at the moment. I guess its time to build one! =]!5/5

  • Thanks oday, get a stryker body, paint it up, throw some cheap servos in her, and see what she'll do lol

  • might have to haha they look like alot of fun. I tried making one like a stryker like a year ago but it didnt fly to good haha.

  • Yeah i fly my stryker like that all the time mate but the only trouble is i haven't any video's of it ROFL, i wish but i will blow the dust of her this winter and just got to put a new servo arm on and i think i'll put another rx in there and try flying it again but don't think it will be up to your standard though LOL 5*

  • Dust her off, get er flying Tazz. Don't worry about the standard just fly that puppy. Post a response too, gonna see how many we can get. None yet :-( haha

Gotta give guys time to fly and film it

  • SUPPER SWEET FLYING!!!! LOVE IT

  • Thanks Bill, Stryker is the best

  • I really am curious to see if anyone else is flying the Stryker this way. For a reasonably easy couple of upgrades and the right prop of course (which Ronin has already disclosed ;-), full throws and some practice, you too can fly the Stryker in your local parking lot!

  • Can't wait to see some responses, whatever guys post, if it's a stryker, all cool

  • I don't have a Stryker myself, but i'm looking forward to the video responses, should be easy enough, yours wasn't so special, blahaha, jk ;-)

  • haha..thanks man, but you gotta get one.. Nothing special really about mine, little foam safe krylon paint, a 3700kv align motor, cheapo 54 amp esc and lots of throws, especially down elevator lol

but great plane, slo speed, fast, agile or docile cmon, know you want one (Stryker pusher)

  • Lol, tempted, but I'm saving some dough for the Habu :)

  • That thing looks great for power, the low knife edge was impressive. Got one as soon as one shop gets one in, I'll get the call

  • Need to get some rudder scrapes on film too, nose just drops like 3 inches then power on and out of it lol

  • Gotta see more of this stuff, come out to kamikaze, we'll get superdave doing it beside us too.

Guys! Icepunk was the red Stryker in the, one of the only other guys able to do this, so far... lol

  • Well let's see if I can come up with something with my two strykers. Don't know that is a pretttttttyyyyyy highs standard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha...have some fun man. Do it up high and you'll get it in no time. Full down elevator and then just throttle management to keep the nose up. If you have probs keeping it up there, try little weight on the ass, not much though. You know about the big screw in teh nose of all strykers right? huge honkin wood screw in the hole in the nose

  • anyone want to sponser me, then ill give it a go :P

  • What do you need jarred? lol

    Got a stryker already?

  • Flying that low and slow sure makes the camera work easy.

  • You'd think it'd be easy eh lol

Time to see you doing it CD

  • My flying ability does not reach that level of crazines!!! I'm out ;-)

  • haha...just post whatever you can with a Stryker, if you have one

    Thanks for watching

  • hey looks goood... you know i would surely show you some low harriers with mine... but i need new batteries for mine right now... there ALL getting weak... ill check them alll real good thought..yea i got like 4 planes down right now.. over batteries!!!around febuary i should be getting a nice new fleet of betteries!!

i havent been able to fly my stryker or my typhoon 2 for a little while.. im actually using my old stryker batteries to fly my edge and daredevil now!! it still flies them o.k.

  • Thanks Tim, ya need good batts for it , and good kv motor. I'm using these 6X4 sport apc props right now too, work really well

  • what do you think, stryker or go pro hero cam to film what ive got now?

  • Get the Stryker, more fun. The go pro will be good on the stryker eventually too, but need something that it can go on decently. Got anything good enough size?

  • i have the slzash and the multiplex easystar. i would love to take it up in the EZ* and spec it out to get a view of the town

  • EZ will be alright, but definitely not going to fly the same. Hard to mount on that body too, have to put it on a wing maybe, and trim out the imbalance. I'd get more time in first before putting that much cash in a cam on a plane

  • lol the only bad thing bout getting the striker than the cam is that then ill be flying the stryker and cant make vids : ( LOL w/e stryker it is i guess
