First Person Shooting tunnel runners are not my cup of tea. CoD for example lacks everything i consider good in games: good story, open-world, realism, innovative combat system, new ideas, multiple choices that affect storyline, character customization...etc

The Level and the Archvile were left out of the PS1 game is because for one:

If you are unable to defeat the final boss, about 5,212,321,312,367,234,123,463,­346,356,567,999,999,236,111,34­25,900 monsters would lag and cause the game to crash.

For two:

The Archvile has alot of scripting. The Archvile would spawn enemies in the PS1 version and resume the enemy's script which would cause the PS1 to freeze. Scripting can freeze the game too.
