How did you approach memo? I'm assuming you memorize every sticker, since you only use two algs, but how would you memorize so many different pieces?

I memorized the stickers by labeling the faces A to L, and for edges I memorized the first face followed by the second face to make a letter pair which I used one of my images for, and for corners I labeled the corners around each face from A to E and generated a letter pair that way. This requires around 30 images for edges and 20 images for corners (more or less depending on number of cycles). That's about the same memorization (in terms of number of images) as a 5x5x5.

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused about your explanation. You're only using the letters A through L? And are you saying that you re-use letters over and over to cover all the different stickers? If that's the case, how can you tell the different letters apart and where it is on the puzzle? I'm probably far off in my interpretation though...

Doing these crazy BLD attempts doesn't really show that we're good BLD cubers; it just shows we're really crazy to try such things, and we have a reasonably good memorization system. I love Mondo's attempts - his latest 32/50 is amazing, especially because of how fast he did it!

The problem with the gigaminx is that it's too hard to get one. It would also take a while - several hours. But the memorization wouldn't be that bad. It certainly should be quite possible!
