Also a lot of what you say about the things that are missing are already on the 'Monday Night Wars' DVD, and also 'nWo, Back In Black'. I'm glad they weren't repeated for a third time on this documentary because you need to realise that this documentary couldn't last for hours and hours, so repeating past dvd's which wcw fans are very likely to have already bought, would have made it very tedious and patronising.

I was a big fan of wcw and I loved this documentary,

Dude I can not disagree more with what you said. At the beginning to start with you say there's a 'misleading' cover, saying the nwo and bischoff should not have been super big and the rick flare and dusty are 'hidden' at the top as if they weren't important.

The fact that flair and Dusty are on the top next to 'rise' and the others below on 'the fall' is very relevant, as the characters below were arguably the fall of wcw. Unlike Nash and Hall, Flair and Dusty are praised a lot throughout...

dude some of this stuff you are saying is WRONG read eric's book. he says the original plan was to bring in bret after WM 12 and have it be BRET hall and nash. However he resigned with WWF.

so Hogan was put in instead.

sting was a consideration though but he was the #3 guy.

Great review. I'm hoping to watch this DVD soon but judging from your review, I shouldn't get my hopes up for the definitive story of WCW, unlike Rise And Fall Of ECW, which was a great DVD. I think the problem here is that so many different points of WCW's past have been covered on other DVD'S i.e. Starrcade, Bret Hart, Ric Flair's DVD's etc that the attitude of WWE is to scale this documentary back so as not to bore the audience. I think that's probably the reason and I may be right or wrong !

I finally saw this. It isn't as bad as some people made it. While, I was never a big WCW fan, it's nice to see what the other side was doing. lol

Sting vs. Goldberg was something they could have really build on. It would have been a classic face vs. face match but they never worked on that.

I'ts really to bad. In 97-98 WcW was SO much better than WWF. A live 3hr Nitro was killing a sub-par poorly booked/ poorly everythinged RAW. Just amazes me how WcW started to lose it at the very same time the WWF gets Austin/Rock/DX/Taker/etc. to simultainiously explode. wtf? go figure.

i disagree as the 3Hr Nitro really kill the product it was way overexposing the WCW product it was like a PPV every fucking Monday and by the point it got 3hrs it was under the horrible Russo/Ferrara era. Most people i know watched the 1st hour of Nitro then switched to RAW because the stories on that show at that point in time compelled you to the television set where as Nitro it was unclear if a storyline would even get back on TV from the previous week

I agree, I bought the DVD expecting a 2 and a half to 3 hour documentary, but was VERY disappointed. Sucks I wasted 25 bucks on this DVD, when I coulda spent that money on some IWA Mid South or PWG DVD's.

It a decent DVD, but it didn't cover the whole story about WCW. Since this is the wwe pg era, it a been watered down to be family friendly. Can't believe it only 90 minutes. man i hate it. The most Hit and miss is Bret Hart, the guys who got screwed in Montreal, and wcw failed him to utilized his appeal.
