Funny, I think only the newer boxes do this. We got one hooked up a few months ago and during a Tornado warning last week, our box locked out and went black like this, and my mom who lives just downstairs with an older box had nothing.
@coffeeandsugar20 Because, a Broadcast Station or Cable System with an EAS transmitter got the message from the NWS, and they, doing what they agreed to from the FCC, send out the alert. Gotta go now, my screens screwing up.

Wtf? Why does it say "Broadcast station or cable system"?!

@coffeeandsugar20 Probably cause the NWS asked them to relay the message.

@cookingboy3 Got the message from the NWS, which in the SAME header said The national weather service issued the warning.

@coffeeandsugar20 I wanna go work at the NWS, just so I can start warnings.

But, why does it say Broadcast Station or Cable System? My friend recorded an EAS Alert Tsunami Warning and it said National Weather Service.

This is pretty special and rare to see a Tsunami warning issued by Comcast... Pray for Japan =)

Thanks for the upload.
Although I don't live on the West Coast, this is still pretty cool to see :)
It's sad that people have died though.
