Honestly this game is a lot lot easier than simcity 4. But it still is complicated enough to the point where it makes the player think a little, and put a little thought process behind their building placement.

Everybody, calm down about Sim City Societies! I am 11 years old but please, I'm more mature than some adults. I understand financial things and this type of things. And I can tell you still, Sim city Societies is a good game. BUT not a good Sim city game. IF it was a different franchise, It would be awesome. I haven't played CitiesXL probably because of the initial bad press.But I got CitiesXL2011&thought to try it because of the city building drought since Simcity4.Lo&behold I was impressed. Mind you I was cynical at 1st,but this game holds its own,surprisingly! In fact it has a few new things like city trading&resources which is a nice step forward.I been a fan of Simcity since the Amiga days. But couldn't stomach societies.Ah well heres hoping for simcity5 or CitiesXL2012 whichever comes1st Peace

This game lacks an Arcade mode.. I think it's just to much of keep the balnce bwteen all the city need.. it really takes way to long to grow. Ideal for ME was the sandbox mode in SC:C.. but well SC:C wasnst that great eighter, but the sandbox mode was great.. I played the 2011 version for about 48 hours and just had a smal town (40.000 citizens) thats runs on +$

Cities XL 2011 is kinda the same, no disasters, same grapichs... looks like they only changed the name. Multiplayer in Cities XL and in 2011 is not avalible, they were stupid that multiplayer has to be payed to be played. And tradeing in Singleplay, you have to make cities by your self in order to be able to trade. The price has gone down too, from 45€ to 15€.

Tilted Mill Entertainment, the Developer of the Ceasar Series, was the developer of Simcity Societies. *EA was the publisher* I do say Ceasar was very well put together. But when they took on Simcity while Maxis was busy with Spore, it didn't live up to the "Simcity" name. Monte Cristo should have also fixed the building repetition problem that all the previous city builders. That bug is overdue to be fixed. I hate building repetition
