you can't practise tackling on a bag very effectively because a person would be putting their strength and weight against them, unlike a bag and how on earth is this 'advanced' the guy just jumped into the bag

Also advanced tackling has to be done with a person otherwise you are just practising your basic technique. And judging where hip height is and actually going into a hip are two immensely different things Dx

he is right in a way, but it's easy to "clothesline" a pad with no weight behind it. I ahve coached and played rugby all my life. The biggest things are:

- keep your back straight and WRAP ARMS AROUND THE BALL CARRIER.

- keep your head up, if you look down you risk breaking your neck.
