Okay, so from what I understand:
The dude in the pink shirt and suit knows the lady. He got there in time, waiting for the lady. He was at the gates. He basically waited for the lady, who claimed that her cell phone didn't work, and so she said she couldn't contact pink shirt. At the end, her argument was: "You should have just gotten onto the plane, and then they would've automatically gotten me in too, since we're together."
Terrible logic. Next time she should be on time.
