I totally stink with dates and thought it was due today, rushed home on my bike through the rain to record it, finished and realised I was a day early. (This never happens in my life, naturally, as a procrastinator.) I hope you know how dedicated I am to you! :P

Also, the tag made me laugh out loud. Castle of Aaaaugh, perfect place for Awkward. Can't believe I haven't seen that in 2 years. I've had it memorised since I was 13. Must fix!

seriously...what is the best way for someone who lives in the netherlands to begin learing the ukelele?...are there any books you would recommend or how does one who cannot carry a tune in a bucket begin?

This would be my first attempt at entering a contest involving music--I did enter HoosierHiver's "Who's Who in UU" Contest, but that doesn't count here. :-P

So I have two songs in mind. Not originals. Wow, working out chords on the one was tricky. I hope you like old-timey stuff.

There might be ever-so-slight shenanigans, but I can't promise. :-P

You are my shero for posting this, I hope you know this. As soon as you said "I have mono" my mind went "SHE HAS THE MICROBE PLUSHIE!" Obviously my passion for nerdy science toys outweighs my thoughts for proper biology.

The fact that you are having a CONTEST with it amazes me in the best possible way. And now I kind of want third place because mysteries are fascinating.

I lie, I'm mainly just excited to try to write a song and include shenanigans. Never in contests for win attempts, just fun!

Ahhahhah the idea of a Nerd High Five delights me. (And, er, I'm incredibly skilled at missing high-fives...or you know those totally floppy ones where someone JUST catches the side of your hands and it doesn't have that lovely "high five" sound? I do those a lot and have to call "REDO!" Thankfully no one seems to mind getting two high fives for the deed of one.)

I found the website for those and immediately mourned the fact that I didn't have money to buy myself and my chemistry teacher some.

I have...er..possibly accidentally (VERY accidentally) been the hitter-in-the-face. I was distracted. It was a multi-high-five...

Really? Things tend to go straight for my chest. To be fair, everything then bounces off and usually hit someone else. It's probably from too many universal games of 'let's throw things in Kiwi's cleavage,' which is played far too often, sometimes when I'm not paying attention. Even my mother plays--she usually STARTS it, crazy loon woman she is.
