I remember this song very well. It got quite a lot of airplay on Radio 1 at the time, but for some reason didnt get very high in the charts. First time I've ever seen the video, thanks for the upload.
To be honest, I can't recall why I bought this 12 " because I certaintly don't recall the video... It should have got higher in the charts in my opinion...
Oh yeah...this sure is a rare video ! Never have seen it before. Thanks for posting. I have this song on an old cassette with really lousy sound, but it brings back memories to those days.
I remember seeing the german presenter from those days !! We used to watch quite alot ARD and ZDF, but I cant remember his name !!! Germany had really great music programms on the TV. Thanks again for this post
Space Monkey stay one of the best "synth power pop wave" project in the history of music. Wonderful songs with great production. Listen for instance the second sigle "one more shot". You can listen it 10 times a day with the same pleasure. The fans are waiting for a remastering of all the "Space Monkey" tracks on CD since 20 years ! Who could refind the original tapes and the owner of the rights ? It is essential to preserve and reissue these pearls. Now. Please.
if you would like to see/hear MORE S P A C E M O N K E Y check out My space SpaceMonkey original..urge SONY RECORDS, plus CBS RECORDS and VIRGIN UK in Europe also WARNER Records, and MCA Records for USA and Canada....SPREAD THE WORD!!! Love is the message, and the message is LOVE...
I was the hockey player with the headband in the video. I can't believe that this was 1985, but we all got decent dosh for one night's filming of the video.
I have not heard this for at least 24-25 years. I feel old! Loved this song and thought it would be a big hit, how wrong I was. Had the 7" and I think I was on the mailing list for at least a year. From memory I seem to remember that the record company sent me a lot of free gifts because I signed up! Happy and Great times.
like you forgot about it but you liked it. blast from the past means its like going back in time to that place thats a blast from the past, then its gone again. like the wind.
this so should have been a hit. loved it then and still do :)

Funny - I bought this album back in the mid-80s. Until now I thought the photo on the cover was just some woman - not the lead singer.

this song was always in my head/ear in 83 or 84.
I recorded it from TV via a microphone! in front of TV in 1983 on cassette (tape).
And it was long time lost and forgotten by me because I erased the tape.
I rediscovered it when the rare TV show was repeated in 2001? by a local TV channel. And this time I recorded all this via SVHS.
It was the time of "Planet P" "why me" or "Peter Baumann- strangers in the night" or "My Mine-- zorro"
I love this time of music.

Always looked at him as a crossing between Brian Setzer/David Bowie and the movie The Warriors!
