  • when i did kungfu i had this form bud we wasnt going that fast ;p

  • Anoto says he the irish monk bring it on

  • FREAKING CHRIST!! wow

  • I have no idea why I watched that, I knew it would be crap. Why make a choreographed fight using moves that you should never use in an actual fight? Waste of time and training.

  • @CrashSable It's just a demonstration, and no, not a waste of training.

  • @CrashSable wtf are you talking about which of those moves wouldnt be used in a fight

  • Looks like someone has been having too much sake 

  • Monks are supposed to be in Monk-robes and most of the time they meditate, never act of fighting at all. Look at these three young monks are dressing in orange pants and fighting with sticks. So, these are fighting monks or Kungfu monks. Or, they just acted for the video.

  • these guys to this shit for like 2 hours straight

  • I want to the shaolin monk school

  • awesome

  • They weighting nothing like birds, i can eat 6 of them in 1 fight and when 1 vs 1 i eat them all. But respect for their training its extremely hard

  • @kirmizibeyazim Do you train like them? I doubt it. If you can not train like them, then you will not beat them.

  • @kirmizibeyazim you are saying you could defeat a shaolin warrior monk? LOL go back to searching youtube videos to troll on while they break iron bars with there face.

  • @kirmizibeyazim

Troll,I grew up in a violent time within miles of working class suburbia, with virtually no guns on the street, when knives where seen as the tools of cowards & where I ate pavement many times over

In that time there were a few legends who never got taken down,4 in fact & 1 of them was the 2nd smallest guy I'd ever met,a Sri Lankan kid who moved like lightning but hit like thunder & the bigger the guy,the harder they fell, always chined & cast to the ground,me included

    My sad fact

  • i thought monks where asposed to be peacefull ^^

  • Awesome. one day I'll be that good....I wish.

  • wooooow

  • Star Wars Episode VII

  • they should've had one this guys to play as aang in the last airbender :P

  • i liked the part where the monks fought with staffs.

  • I wish i was this bad ass O_O!

  • thats amazing

  • awesome

  • shiolin monks are to me the best fighters ive heard of

  • martial arts is bound to evolve, but some still remember the old ways of it and practice this everyday under the most grueling conditions such as rain or even personal injuries.i myself know and practice martial arts and i don't mean the stuff you see on tv. i mean real martial arts like allowing my opponent to strike first and blocking it then redirecting it and using their energy to fight back.

  • I dont want to see somthing choreographed dammit :(

  • @dangel6667 choreographed things dont look as pretty, it would be about 5 seconds, because it only takes one error, and the other guy wins.

  • @Piztil

A battle definition it´s in seconds.

  • the buety of a human body.

the human body and the human brain with the human soul combined could work wonders.

    soul mind and body.

  • Shaolin kung fu can kick any martial

  • how here vote for video?

  • hmm .. even more of these predone documentaries would be nice

    ...

  • WOW!!!! likeeeeeee :DDDD

  • show

  • gatka over here

  • really.... sweet though im kind of in in the wrong position to take it up i have a black belt in soo-bak-doo (look it up) but im no where near as advanced as these guy s ;)

  • really.... sweet though im kind of in in the wrong position to take it up

  • true masters

  • Shaolin

A Great Work upward upon the path of enlightened living

  • lmfao good one

  • .....

  • there bald because 1, it reduces sweat, and 2 they believe it alows there god to be closer to them, a shaolin monk will neva attack 1st, they onli fight in self defence

  • why are theyall bald?

  • Like this they don't get lice or don't need to wash their hair.

  • sodumb123 is right, but also they are monks.

  • These look more like temple students than monks, and it's worth noting that at the Henan province temple not all Monks are taught Gong Fu and of those that are, a select few specialize in open fighting 'san shou'. Shifu Shi Yan Zi who teaches in London is one, Shi Yan Ming who teaches in New York is, I think, another. Suffice to say a ordained monk trained in sanshou at the Shaolin Monestary In Henan is the most effective fighter there is on this planet. It's as much in the mind as the body.

  • wow the Shaolin monks are great. the wax wood staff is a perfect demenstration weapon. you might be interested in these other shaolin weapons:

    the twin hooks

the wax wood staff(used in video above)

    the whipchain

    also the shaolin knives

  • hmm, they whack the ground trying to make it seem like there's more contact between staves

  • Sweeet! .. wish I had the time to dedicate..

  • year i no but its kind of the thing you have to born into

correct me if im wrong though

  • Just do what you can with the time you have. That is all anyone can do.

  • Comment removed

  • yes that true.

  • @conker1080 guns are for people who understand that if they try to go to war in the modern world with swords they will get slaughtered by fully automatics, grenades, and other weapons of the modern era. Let's try this. 100 of the best shaolin vs. 100 army personnel trained and equiped with M-16s or AK-47s. The point of martial arts is to eliminate or subdue an enemy intent on depriving you of life, money, liberty etc, Those who do this most efficiently are the best martial artists.

  • @gungnir2357

I should have been more clear, I meant those who bring guns to fights, and carry them around just to show off.

  • @conker1080 Ah, I catch your drift. You're right on that account. Though people who do that are also very dangerous. Maybe not because their aim is good but because they tend to provoke a lot of situations that get out of control.

  • @conker1080 guns are for people who want to do a quiet clean kill a knife or any other object is to messy

  • @EmoStarburst808 Yea, quiet if you have a silencer :p

  • @conker1080 exactly, for pussies

  • @conker1080 Tell that to Indiana Jones.

  • @GalryZ I think you mean Han Solo.

    XD

  • @conker1080 Dirty Harry

  • lol

  • well its a chereographed routine, so it could be a bit slow in some places

  • @Rhonaldinho10

    slow? where?

  • @Rhonaldinho10 You call that slow?

  • sorry i´m not doing any kung fu or such but i´ve have seen alot of stuff with saolin monks but don´t u think that they attacked a bit slow at 0:08 to 0:14 or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me?

(i don´t mean they are slow, but i think they had at least had two chances to hit the guy in the middle)

  • its choregraphed

  • smartass

  • what the what is this is this off amovie or just some monks muckin round

  • sorry jerrya76 I dont know. My insrtuctor gave me a CD with a lot of things about Kung fu on it, and this was on there.

  • oh so you study martial arts

  • shut the hell up and watch this shit

  • Shaolin is not about fighting for sport like MMA is. It's actually more about living than fighting.

  • Comment removed

  • Adrius91, I also think that MMA is awesome, but so is Shaolin. With their Qi, speed and stamina, they surely can put up a fight.... MMA is still not the greatest Martial arts, Boxing,Kick Boxing,Thai boxing is in my opinion better then MMA ^_^

  • Adrius91 your stupidity and apparent lack of martial arts knowledge is obviously outwayed by your big mouth.

If you are fast enough to grab their arm, they would simply snap it before you knew what even happened.

And MMA is nothing special; a few well timed kicks to the knees or hits to certain areas like the throut, eyes or sternum would render any 130 kg mountain of idiocracy 'ineffective' for a long time.

Proof? Go up to any respectable kung fu master and grab his arm. Have fun with that.

  • Comment removed

  • Well it's clear to me whoever goes for the balls, eyes, nose, throat, armpits will win. Whoever does this first and can avoid this being done to him has technique, not brute strength.

Grappling or wrestling is *not* a good choice for self-defense. Yes there's strikes in MMA but it's mostly about grappling. When there's rules grappling and wrestling wins but no rules and it's different. There's a Shaolin kicked in the balls 5 times on youtube lol.

  • You do have a point excessive pain tolerance is unnecessary because of adrenaline. But real fights are mostly over in a few seconds. The point isn't so much toughness as they will go for your vitals.

There's other reasons why grappling stinks in self-defense like fighting a knifer and the fact you will always fight a stronger more massive opponent if you're honorable. I say focus on striking with grappling as a backup. And when I say backup I don't mean MMA I mean avoid grappling at all costs.

  • Comment removed

  • Grappling is the *most* risky, even no weapons. The closer you are to an opponent the riskier it is (no duh), and unless you lock *both* arms and maybe the feet he can kick your balls or gouge your eyes. You also ignored my point a weaker man most likely won't attack you; it'll be someone confident he can beat you, probably stronger, who can outgrapple you. He'll likely have 50 to 100 lbs on you. You know and I know MMA is more than "combining martial arts" there are rules that favor grappling.

  • Comment removed

  • If it were a real fight and I were you I wouldn't want to get close. Only two real options run or fight to kill (unless it was a drunk friend or something). Problem is you never know if the guy has a hidden knife or not so you have to assume. Another big problem I have with grapping is it doesn't end the fight fast.

No offense buddy, but I don't see the logic in saying striking won't help when the face, the balls, the eyes, the throat and the knees are the same on a 100 lbs man and a 200 lbs.

  • Comment removed

  • Adrius91 I have no idea if u r any gud at matrial arts. But I think u shouldn't assume that you'd b able to grab someones arm in a hold because they may be better than u.

So basically wat i'm saying is that it depend on the skill of the fighter not wat style they r using.

  • Comment removed

  • But surely u must admit that each style has pros and cons. grappling isn't the ultimate style. If sum1 is gud enough to hurt ur arms first or just kick u in the knees then they will win.

So grappling is an effective style but i wouldn't base my ability to win a fight based on the style that I do.

(This isn't ment to seem offensive)

  • Comment removed

  • Ur still missing my point. within shoalin there are various styles that focus on different skills (much like MMA.) So a shoalin martial artist could also adapt to their opponent.

My point is that styles are generally equal its just the artist that makes the difference. So saying that a MMA fighter will beat someone just because they do MMA doesnt make sense.

  • Shoalin is a traditionnal martial arts and doesn't need 2 evolve. In my oppinion, 'modern' martial arts are just basically about kneeing, punching and rolling on the floor. This takes away a big part of what martial arts is about, its about living a certain life style and being healthy, many modern martial arts practicioners dont understand this.

  • Comment removed

  • @Rhonaldinho10

That´s correct. Also, many martial arts have weapon-styles.

  • @Rhonaldinho10 Modern Martial Arts leans on being able to overcome your opponite. "Kneeing", "Punching" and "rolling on the floor" are used because it works fighting another being, otherwise they wouldn't be using it. Modern martial arts require the practicioner to be in top physical form and exceptional stamina. This requires hard work and eating healthy. If this is not health, then i don't know what is.

  • @Rhonaldinho10 That´s why i love the fact that i´ve been training in Shaolin Kempo for about 8 years now <3 :)

  • you are correct but also wrong at the same time. this particular kung fu you will never see in mma. they are trained with discipline and spiritual purity. they will never be the agressive only the defensive. rahter as modern wushu which is practiced by many poeple the monks do not train in and it is ment more for performance rahter than actual fighting. where you are wrong is muay tai is in fact a form of kung fu if i remember right. if not it is something similiar to muay tai. :)

  • Yes shoalin has a wide range of rechniques and styles that come under the shalin 'umbrella'. There are competitions that feature shaolin fighters, my school is entering 1 at the moment (no prize money, only honour.) If those shaolin fighters were at MMA, all i can say is that they mustn't have understood wat shaolin actually is and therefor r not a gud example of a shaolin warrior.

  • Comment removed

  • well the mma fighter ain't allowed to have weapons but shaolin monk yes, it's like watching a police officer vs a marine, well more trained, more weapons to use and there is no rules.

  • @Rhonaldinho10 1 question. Shaolin monks use sanda for actualy fightnig right? the animal styles can be used to fight or are they just forms ? to like keep them fit flexible and stuff? thx man

  • @MechPhantom I think that they use them mainly for health and fitness but they are also used for fighting. Please keep in mind that i dont claim to be an expert on these matter.

  • @Rhonaldinho10 hasahah ok thx man , u seem quite an expert actually . Peaace man

  • @MechPhantom the animal styles are usually performance forms now. but the bare essence of it, have some application. some of the monks i've trained with demonstrated what each move was for, but for the most part it's wushu.

  • @monkeyking32 What do u mean by the bare essence? does it means that there ARE some/few applications or alot? Btw the monsk u trained with are they fast ro above average speed? And not to be ignorant or something can u wing them in a fighT?thx bro for ur explaination

  • @MechPhantom from my understanding the original forms had applications, but now they've been changed for the sport of wushu. theyre fast and no i wouldn't beat them in a fight. i'm weak haha. the monks go through harsh training from a young age and have trained for more than 10 years. also sanda is kick boxing so its sport fighting, but the monks do sanda as well.

  • @monkeyking32 haha i think u can beat them if u had enough training after a while even if they have 10 yrs of training or so. After all its u urself, the fight in the man that determines the victor ,not becoz of how long he or she learns it. I can learn for 10yrs but im still scared of ppl and cant fight well since i never had been a fight before (just like the monks ,they never fight wif ppl before so u wont know how they fight). btw ur not weak , ur just humble haha u sound strong and confident

  • @monkeyking32 continued. I also heard and seen in videos that shaolin monks fights just like any other sanda fighter,so yea its thrice thrice i have won against a sanda fighter here in singapore at the annual mixed martial arts competition where all kinds of MA fight each other. So yea even the shaolin monks can lose, but yea they are fast haha. If i can win , u r even more capable of it ,ur strong bro dont doubt urselfhaha. Thx see ya bro

  • @Adrius91 @Adrius91 its also called rules. in MMA there are so many things you canNOT do, including elbows, and certain strikes which are illegal BECAUSE they are deadly. thats why submission is good in MMA, b/c you can't use helpful things that would get you out of submission. in a street fight would you hold someone on the groun? and then another person kick your head while you holding him? if someone tackled you, elbowing their neck would be easy. or spine. ILLEGAL in MMA.

  • @Piztil I had forgotten about this haha... I really have no interest in discussing it any further. It's pointless. Imma delete mah replies now.

  • Comment removed

  • the bad thing about mma fighting is that there is many rules, no back in the head, no hits on the balls, no hiting on the neck,,see! this are very important parts of the human body, and alot of pressure points are there.

  • and you think it would be a good idea to allow strikes to these vital areas in a sport? :P

  • then why do u have boxing, which gives brain damage, martial arts were develope for self defense and war so that's what shaolin kung fu is stoping the fight before it even begins, to have self disipline and to respect each other, what most people don't understand, and when u have several people vs u,u have to know how 2 take them with the less strikes and fast, something mma isn't, u see Shaolin ain't a sport, it's a way of living.

  • luicho you seem to have missed my point completely, you said the problem with mma is that they do not allow these disabling strikes etc I simply asked if you thought it would be a good idea to include them in sport, obviously in a real fight anything goes, that's already been worked out a long time ago ;)

  • and u seem 2 missed my point 2 cuz, i think what the point is, even with all those rules its still dangerous, get a good blow 2 the head break the neck, a good 1 2 the kidney or 2 the liver, and by this i'm not saying u shouldn't practice any of this, what i mean use it in self defense, n what i think shaolin is da best 2 go, even 2 girls, a girl with mma skill have 2 beef up, n all dad, imaging a girl with mma skill against a guy double da size with mma skill, she'll not last long, see my point!

  • @Semimaru lol yea it would be ok :). The skill is not to get hit there.

  • ... Hitting in the nuts is what a girl does. The reason why they dont allow hitting in the back of the head is because they dont want to see another person ending up like Mohammad Ali.

  • so be prepere and see how much u can resist,

  • fancy stick work, what are they, 4.. 5ft tall? lol

  • that was more like a dance than a fight, totally staged.

  • are these staff deasly? like could they actuallybe in a real fight an kill sum1? or is just for show...

  • tell someone to jab ur neck with one of these in full force, or chest , or swing it at ur head and bash ur head... i am pretty sure u will feel it lol!

  • A shaolin monk's hands alone are enough to kill someone.

The staff will just give him greater reach.

  • wow they ve crazy mooooves

  • hah, ill take these noobs any day..

  • if you watch the placement of the strikes of the two attackers youll realize the ease of the defense...not the ease for a normal person...but a well trained monk....the attacks seemed rehersed IMO

  • this is rehearsed. just basic training exercise's for guys with this skill.

  • Pretty sweet =p (looks choreographed, although I doubt it is)

  • So what would you do if a shaolin monk came running at you while swinging a staff at you so fast that you can't even tell whats going on? They would be able to fight in real life, it just wouldn't last as long as the Hong Kong movies.

  • You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. These people are EXTREMELY highly skilled. I wonder how skilled you are in a martial art compared with them? From the way you've put your post across, they'd most likely take you down within 2 seconds - if that. I suggest you educate yourself before you make such a stupid post.

  • There's a reason why Martial Arts were created by the Shaolin Monks. Look at the history..if it didn't work, then why bother knowing it? All marital arts are effective, depends on who and what the fighter is working with. Simple

    Ignorant one

  • but these guys are extremely healthy

  • i wish i could learn from these guys how to use a staff

  • that is actually awsomely sick xD :o

  • Comment removed

  • my mandarin lessons paid off

  • STICK FIGHT!

  • Holy. Crap. I'd cry just being in the middle of that.

  • wow

  • SICK.

  • that doesnt look like it was planned 0. 0

look like they practice fighting, but if you get hit, your problem so better block XD

  • i sure wouldn't want to get coaught in the middle of that fight.

  • hell no lol

  • lmaoo u could win.... if u could slow down time :)

  • if even then

  • dang, its 2 against 1, i want that 1 guy on my team, he was taking on 2 skilled shaolinn at the same time.

  • Pretty sure the first ever Kung Fu movements were to help the body recover from a long meditation session. There is a cave behind Shaolin where (story goes) Buddi Dharma Meditated for 8 years or so. So he used some movements to get his muscles workin again.

  • This is wicked !

  • Dude, I blinked! What happened?!

    lol

  • lol

  • fuck that they've probably been rehearsing for months

  • lol months...

  • months...?

  • lol dude they didn't rehearse that for months, they trained their kung fu every day since they were 4 years old... They trained for just a bit longer than months...

  • anybody wanna fight these guys

    ?

  • lol ild give it a go prob get fucked up tho

  • I would go against them. I am a bit skilled in martial arts but I would last only a few secs tho not as skilled as them =D

  • I prefer Ryu from Ninja Gaiden fighting using the Lunar Staff...

  • same lol
