Why tax corporations? Corporations make money for individuals. So, tax the individuals. This includes the rich big wigs at the top, the peons at the bottom, and investors behind the scenes. Do so with a fair, flat tax. Don't punish companies for being successful or individuals for being motivated, skilled, or determined.
Rubio how does Perry french kiss? Rubio and others who do this - stop being Republican just to hide the fact you are gay. Even though you make your face as expressionless as you can the gay, the lisp, the gestures are still apparent, though not as obvious as Marcus Bachmann. You got married and had children; everyone gets it you’re a complete follower. Do you have to take being in the closet THIS far? America is sick of you Hoover types!
Stop the wars. Stop being the worlds police. Europes rich countries have strong militaries and have no problem taking care of their selves. The U.S. in 2010 military spending was $698 Billion second was China at only $119 Billion. Cut it in half to $349 Billion and the U.S. still spends more then $230 Billion then China.
Progressionist (sheeps cloths egalitarian) be informed of how liberty & freedom define American Exceptionalism.Fact- economic freedoms, & liberty U enjoy have been achieved by proven record preserving legitimacy of individ prosperity. Ur model?Vomite of the tired covetous European Union big gov rhetoric.Ur model?Disingenuous phoney collectivism i.e.- tumult, catastrophic, discontent, covetous unrest & fruitless perversity of justified murder, overstepping control. No greater class warfare.
So - What can we as citizens do to create a better system for our country? When I hear about the president pushing us further & further away from our "freedom" which God gave us when he gave us this country, I am remided of Obama's famous line when running for office & that which the majority of the US voted for which is "change"... Well, look where that 6 letter word is getting us... I for one, did not vote for him!!! Now the question is - "What can we do to help us get our freedom back???"
Very well said. We are heading for disaster in a very short time if our Congress does not Stop The Spending and Regulating and taking away rights and freedom.
"Someone over there has it figured out. We have a lot of work to do. "The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."
FedStoogeOne needs to look in the mirror to assign blame.
4 trillion in less than 3 years. he is a junkie.
AMERICAS' "FAILED LEADER" “ Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
poor, poor "Harry and the Obamacrats" need more money, so they can give AK-47s' to Mexican and Honduran drug smugglers so they can kill Mexicans, Hondurans, and US Border patrol agents.
won't you help? don't you care? please give generously-CALL NOW!
American people understand that the wealthiest people in this country are becoming wealthier while their effective tax rates in recent years have declined to the lowest level in history. They know that large multi-national corporations and Wall Street firms are earning billions in profits in some cases, paying nothing in taxes. They know that military spending has nearly tripled since 1997 and that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan drag on and on and on - at great expense to our taxpayers.
This man is not only lying, he's historically & economically incorrect. His "Class Warfare" accusation is actually Projection. It is the Republican party today who guts all middle & lower class spending, but will not lift the Tax Cuts to the top 3-5% or corporations. Anything they do is SOLELY for the Wealthy. If you're CEO's, CFO's, Wall Street Executives, & Bankers vote for them. If not, they don't give a piss about you. You're voting against your own interests
Economic growth has been greatly depleted by laws and tax codes that benefit the wealthy 1%ers. There is class warfare, yet the middle class did not know there was a war. The lobbyists waged a campaign to ensure the nations wealth is pushed in one direction. Repubs still want the "everyday man" to fear government growth. Face it a nation of this size and complexity need governess. President Obama is one of the few trying to keep this gov monstrosity from continuing to crush the working class.
Tax rates have been much higher to pay debt in the past. Supply Side Economics was class warfare, Republicans have redistributed wealth like it was prior to the New Deal, they have been engaged in class warfare for last 30 years, and have destroyed the middle class. Revenue is needed to reverse debt and you simply need to tax where the money is.
BTW: Congress is ignoring the Constitution here, the 14th Amendment Sec 4, I guess their oath to protect and defend the Constitution was just words.
Class warfare is giving hundreds of billions to banks and then gutting social security. Class warfare is dismantling tax payer funded entitlements while insuring the risk of financial creditors. Class warfare is refusing to enforce corporate taxation. Class warfare is dismantling public education. Class warfare is a nation where there are more prisoners than farmers.
Class warfare is -- in exchange for contributions, Florida GOP politicians allowing the Koch Brothers to hire the Economic Professors at a STATE UNIVERSITY.
@DillonDee1 Get this both parties are in bed with big corporations. Both parties have made it impossible for small business to survive. Small business creates the majority of all jobs in America. The liberal left would love to have all the poor and middle class dependent on government so they and their powerful big corporate buddies can keep the power and run the Country. It is up to the people the stop Congress by voting them all out. Getting term limits and a balanced budget amendment.
But it's time we recognize that Barack isn't the most powerful man in DC.
The Koch Brothers are.
I believe they make contributions to every GOP member of Congress (Rubio gets the most) & fly members out in their private parties to expensive parties in Vail & Palm Springs for secret meetings on strategy.
You can bet the tax bill will benefit them & do damage to the middle class.
@cambocan Class warfare is used on the left to get more money to spend on their ideology. Understand we have a spending problem. If you took every penney from the billionaires it would barely cover the $1.5 trillion fiscal budget deficit for 2011. (Never mind the $14 trillion National debt.) Then what would you do next year? Take every penny from the millionaires? That would hold you a couple years but there would be no jobs the economy would come to a stand still. Then what would you do?
SS problems arise because it has never been reformed in 70 years and Congress took the investment put it into the general fund (thank LBJ) and spent the surpluses. Medicare is the same it has not been reformed when they found in the 80s it was costing ten times more then its est they should have reformed it now it is broke. FYI We have the highest effective corporate tax rate in the world. Only a few companies are given special breaks but by far most companies pay plenty.
what is really amazing seeing some of the comments of Obots here is that more people are on welfare now since Obama took office and on food stamps and have lost jobs, but somehow his followers think they are better off. I guess we can think of this as anti-intellect. If things get worse for more Americans we are better off, is that the deal? The road to prosperity is not at the welfare office but you insist that the Food Stamp President is the best President you have ever had. NONSENSE!
@100days2bestseller The road to prosperity is downsizing the size and scope of government. Obama's plan is to get more people dependent on government so he can keep the power. Never mind that all will suffer as government grows larger and economic growth is completely stagnate. Leaving no chance for anyone to prosper.
Marco Rubio: "I'm an ass-kisser of the rich, by the rich and for the rich. I also drink oil and shit dollar bills, why? Because I'm a rich man's lapdog. That's why. Fuck the old, the sick, the disabled. The rich and oil companies are more important that those people." HEY MARCO, WHY DON'T YOU JUST COME OUT AND SAY YOU HATE POOR PEOPLE, YOU FUCKING CONCEITED ASSHOLE!
It's easy to make arguments so long as facts aren't an obstacle. Marco Rubio's comments exemplify the historical revisionism, delusion, and denial of conservatives in this country regarding the long legacy of class struggle in the US. His extraordinarily ignorant comment about Obama sounding like the leader of a 3rd world country (no surprise coming from a rabid anti-Castro exile) exemplifies cheery cohabitation of racism and American exceptionalism in US politics.
@rosschiraz411FYI Higher tax rates on work, saving, investment, and entrepreneurship will slow economic growth. That is a well proven fact. When economic growth slows who does it hurt the most? The middle class and the poor. Why? Less jobs, lower pay, less opportunity.
@quizerry By your logic, we should've never been in this recession to begin with, given the deep tax cuts from Bush which have persisted to this day--he cut taxes and borrowed $.they've created huge deficits, while corporations (and the rich) are hoarding money, not investing. Instead, corps tout greater productivity and greater profits for shareholders. The rich get richer, still no jobs, still lower pay, still not enough opportunity. Tax cuts subsidize their profiteering, the poor suffer.
The Bush tax cuts worked fine they did not put us in a recession they got us out of one fast in the early 2000s. The the war and massive government spending started. The housing bubble that burst, big gov spending, bailouts and a bad fed policy got us into this mess not tax cuts. We know for a fact the raising taxes slow short term economic growth and big government intervention slows the economy in long term. What don't you get we have a massive spending problem we can't tax our way out of.
@quizerry You cherry pick your responses & don't engage with the points that weaken your argument. Look at Clinton's terms; he left a surplus without gutting social programs. 10 years of Bush tax cuts haven't spurred growth & haven't produced any jobs, & there is a decline in wages. Corps act irresponsibly, get bailed out, & their profits are at record highs. Tax cuts should be for the poor & companies that actually create jobs, not those that move them out of the country or exploit labor.
@quizerry , Tax rates are at historical lows and business has record profits, this kind of destroys your argument.
Current tax policy encourages outsourcing and profit taking, not job growth. Business needs to earn tax breaks. What Republicans purpose is to tax a bigger group of Americans, the poor for after all they are the scum of America. Republicans have been engaged in Class Warfare since the Depression.
@SmartApps2011 All of those hours you spent slurping up the hackneyed cliches of Glen Beck and Bill O'Reilly haven't paid off for you. You have no facts, no substance, no argument. Be sure to bring those next time you want to hang with the adults. Thanks for playing, buh bye.
@quizerry Conservatives are quickly dropping an issues-driven debate around here. That's what happens when you've exhausted anything substantive to say & have to resort to conjecture & insults. I think you need to stop drinking your free market Kool Aid--you could use an undergrad US history class or 3. And btw, it's bs to claim that the Constitution and Federalist papers back up your trickle down economic fantasies. Perhaps you need to reread them, with crib notes. Come back here afterwards.
@rosschiraz411 They are not insults if they are truth. The President has not come up with one budget sense he has been in office. He has not come up with a debt reduction plan. Those are facts. He has spent more in 2 years the Bush in 8 years. You don't think it is substantial that our massive debt and spending is a problem? If anyone's words have no substance it is President Obama's he has flip flopped on so many issues its hard to keep up even his own base are fed up.
@quizerry The Prez faces opponents in Congress who have stated from day 1 that they want him out. That's why they approve spending & then play games with the budget. You want to discuss debt & act like it began w/Obama. Bush's fiscal policies were all deficit spending & bumped the debt the most in 2008. The mortgage crisis unfolded in the last months of Bush & got dumped on Obama. Can't solve 8 years of exploding debt in 3, esp. given the recession & double digit unemployment Bush uncorked.
@quizerry National debt $11.2TJan. 2009. The debt for the year of 2009 was already inked in by the previous congress and president. When Obama leaves office the next president will be stuck with the budget left by Obama in his first year. You are entitled to debate but you are not entitled to change reality. Some analysts believe Bush and of course his republican cronies added $7T to the overall national debt since bills W. signed are on the books and we are still paying for them.
30 years of tax cuts, expanding the Military to an unsustainable size and International Warring has lead us to this debt... now the people who desired these things blame the debt on Social Security and Medicare
i think it is shameful that you want to attack the elderly and disabled of our country to protect people who are so rich that they would not even notice the increase. it has nothing to do with job creation. how long have the Bush tax cuts been in place? and where are the jobs? in these millionaires and billionaires offshore bank accounts. its all about greed and turning the American people against each other to throw up a smoke screen to hide behind. and you call yourselves "christians"!!!
if you raise taxes on an oil company, the oil company will increase the price of gas to cover the tax hike. "taxing the rich oil companies" just increases the cost of fuel for everyone.
Rubio is correct! People who have truly studied history will know! Those of you who are naysayers are really just "sheeple" and Heaven help all of us if things continue the way this WH wants things to go. I can guarantee, the "sheeple" will be the ones saying "this isn't want I thought would happen" Get of your duffs and help get America back on track like Rubio is trying to suggest!
Thanks to liberal policies America can no longer afford to pay for medicare, social security, unemployment and many other services. We also need to lower the minimum wage to $2/hr in order to compete with China and bring jobs back home. Fiscally responsible conservatives like Paul Ryan and Sen Rubio know this and are currently
working to end these wasteful handout programs and bring the minimum wage down so that America can be great again. God bless the GOP!
Very well said. American have always been proud to work hard for what they have and strive for bigger and better things because we are so free to do so.
Obama's father is of the Luo tribe of Kenya. From 1700 to 1850 when the Brits put a stop to it, the Luo rounded-up rival tribes & sold them to Arab slave traders in Zanzibar. Now Barry enslaves the US taxpayer using the thug tactics his forefathers practiced.
@Vetwolf13 Assuming you vote Dem, I was surprised to see your post. Does the government hand out laptops to homeless, jobless, penniless people like yourself? You are there core!!!
@ladylordess And a lot of righties will soon be out of a job and home! And the best part is all their children will be jobless too! God bless the GOP! SUCKERS!
@Vetwolf13 The difference between the left and right is the right will always go out and make their own jobs. The left stands with their hand out waiting for the government to fill it. Worthless shit that sucks off the government tit. It isn't any wonder they are weak.
@ladylordess Do you think only liberals collect unemployment, medicare and social security? You're views show you to be just another inbred right wing nigger who gets their talking points from Fox news!
@Vetwolf13 Primarily, yes. When their unemployment runs out, they don''t know what to do. Republicans on the other hand are smart enough to have started a businesses. Most small business owners are not even eligible for unemployment, even though they pay for it. Republicans are smart enough to know that they have to save for retirement, whereas Dems, many unions types, think someone else will pick up the tab. God forbid you ask them to contribute their own income towards it. UR a hick.
@Vetwolf13 Yes, my Mother was black. If it makes you feel good to call me a nigger, so be it. The Dems did start the KKK. Is GlennBEck here? I had no idea!!!
Now go look up the law and tell me how a business owner IS eligible for unemployment. LOL.
@Vetwolf13 I will, as I don't want my taxes raised and wasted. You need to get a third job. I read that fast food jobs are on the rise in this economy. Good Luck with that!
@ladylordess If you think the republicans are going to prevent taxes from being raised then you really are an idiot! Taxes will be raised on the middle class-they have to be - remember, we're spending trillions on those wars GW started and the banksters will need another bailout. Of course no one will raise taxes on the super rich because the wealthy own the GOP's ass! Just wait fool-and remember what I just said!
@Vetwolf13 If you think Obama is going to successfully raise taxes, you are an idiot. 51% of Americans are not even paying federal taxes. They should be!! It isn't a tax raise if they are included!! The top 10% pay 70% of the revenue generated. We need to lower the corporate taxes and costs as to generate more revenue. We are spending money on Obamas wars as well. Your "words" are forgotten as soon as I hit post. You are moronic and an absolute failure. I bet you don't even pay tax!
@Vetwolf13 You need to ask the President this. If you took every penny the billionaires have. That would cover the $1.5 trillion budget deficit for 2011. So what would you do next year?
@ladylordess A C-corp or S-corp business owner is payed a salary and his company would pay unemployment on himself so it is a fact that business owners can collect unemployment. I know a couple who in order to keep their employees working did not take a paycheck last year and were eligible for unemployment because they paid it in. In effect they laid them-self off so their employees would still have a job.
@samayoa95 The Americans Dream is not a handout. Marco Rubio knows this. You are not the kind of person that America wants or needs. I am ashamed that you are an American.
@ladylordess If Rubio knew that American dream wasn't a handout, he wouldn't support corporate welfare and tax holes for the rich. BTW: I happy that a Rubio fan like you is ashamed of me, because I did something that a selfish person like you would have never done. I went Iraq and defended my country. I got shot at and got paid very little money. Please BE ashamed of me. If you aren't, I would be doing something wrong.
@samayoa95 The Dem party IS based on handouts. They hold you down and keep you dependent on them for your welfare, all for your vote. Now TH AT is evil!! I am an American who is ashamed of you, and your the hard working people of your heritage are ashamed of you. You are just the type too be proud of that! You obviously do not know the difference between self-interests vs selfishness. I am guessing you never heard of Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations. You should read it, if you are capable.
The GOP are doing all they can to ruin America's economy. Not one job's bill!!!
They think if they can put thousands more out of their jobs and homes the next president will be a republican (most likely Mitt Romney) who was the worst governor in Mass history when it came to creating jobs. And the first thing they will do if they get the white house is to cut taxes for the wealthy! SUCKERS
@Vetwolf13 Jobs are not created by a government bill. Jobs will not be created under this uncertain Obama environment. Obviously you have never created a company or a job!
As many remember, during the last presidential election, the so called “pure conservative” claimed that Obama was a marxist and a muslim because his father and stepfather were both muslims and marxists. Well, I guess if we are going to apply the same “pure conservative” standard, we can make the case, and it would be fair to say, that Marco Rubio is a drug dealer because his family were drug dealers. Sounds moronic, right? So, which is it, Senator?
Thank you Marco finally someone in Washington gets it. Everyday in my line of work I see perfectly capable people sucking off the system it makes me want to barf! You don't punish success, you punish failure. Those who choose not to work should not eat and should not expect others to support them. I support a flat tax,I support getting rid of the IRS completely! If you can work but choose to milk the system and steal from the working you DO NOT get welfare cards! This is not a nanny country!!!
Ben Stein said "You can NOT say higher taxes on the rich is bad for economic growth, the data is just not there." As Warren Buffett said " Ipay less taxes than my seceratary." GOP Motto; Serve the rich, confuse the rest.
Have you ever studied world history? I think not. History has shown us over and over again that the Socialist Utopia you seek never, ever comes to pass. Now if you are so disgusted living in the greatest country in the history of mankind, then I suggest you begin plans for an immediate relocation to Cuba, and live among the equal; the equally poor. Since when is it morally just to take from one man to give to another without permission?
@kittenagogo28 First, thank you for speaking up so articulately. I thought I'd share a YouTube video with you. It's my favorite. It is the last speech Marco gave while Speaker of the House in Florida. Search: Marco Rubio farewell speech. If you haven't seen it, you will really enjoy watching this fine Senator as he leaves politics -- not knowing he would soon decide to run for the US Senate. It speaks volumes to his character.
@kim3969 Thanks so much for your kind words and sharing the clip! I still love his acceptance speech best. :) I wish he could run this time around, but understand why he can't. Wouldn't it be so much fun watching the liberals trip all over themselves when they want to say a Freshman Senator isn't qualified to be president? Oops. I hope he will agree to VP this time around. Can you imagine him debating Biden? Good times! That might provide us with enough comedy to rival 4 years of Joe's gaffes!
@kim3969 We salute you (from up here in libville-I was born and raised in MA, but luckily I am now a political refugee in NH-incidentally a study just found us to be the freest state in the union I am proud to say! We have had some seepage from the moonbats that ruin a state, wonder what happened and move on to ruin another state, but we are still cool and I think they know they are no longer welcome) for voting in a Senator that is an ABSOLUTE CREDIT TO THIS ENTIRE COUNTRY. Love this guy!
@kittenagogo28 So happy to hear back from you. So, if you will indulge me one more time, look for YouTube: Rubio delivers FIU law school commencement. As an aside, I've known Marco for almost 20 years. What I love most is that he is the same guy today as he was in 1995 when I first worked with him. Nothing changed as he became a city commissioner, state legislator, Speaker of the House and now US Senator. So refreshing. So authentic. I love it when people see it, too. Thanks for making me smile.
How can you argue with what this man is saying? Marco Rubio would make Obama look like the fraud and fool that he is, in a one-on-one debate. I'd pay big money to watch that take place on live, national TV.
Thank God, there are still a few good men in Washington D.C.
Marco Rubio is a future U.S. President and represents the kind of leadership this country needs now more than ever! Thank you Jesus for Marco Rubio!!!
Please go to Heritage foundation new study on the poor in America. Here are some of the stats. The average poor American has more living space then average European middle class. Over 75 % own a car 31% have 2 or more cars. 80% have air conditioning, 43% own their own homes (average 3 BR 1 1/2 Bath). 97% have colored TV, 62% have cable or satelite, 89% have microwaves, over 50% have stereos, 91% have a phone,31% cell phone, 36% have a computer. poor women consume more food and are heavier.
COnservatives, many who claim that everyone else is "Godless" and "Demonic" (Coulter) love to claim how good the poor have it.
WHY?
If you have to ask, you have answered the entire question.
But you wouldn't know that.
The US has the second highest child poverty rate in developed nation ext to Mexico. Heritage, a supposedly Godly group, WOULD claim the poor are really fine and just lazy and whiny.
I have to say - your answer makes me sick - conservative Christians stand up for the right of the ELite to own 93% of our wealth, to have lower taxes, so they can take more of our wealth, then they complain that the poor never had it so good and train their followers to do so, also. Beck, Levin, Limbaugh, they all do it. Blasphemers.
May they receive the due penalty for their hatred of the Teachings of Jesus Christ.
@HopeForPeaceNow I did not do the study. And the stats came from the U.S. Government bureau of the census and agriculture. Compassion is more than talking about the plight of the poor or giving them just enough money to make poverty a bit more comfortable like the government does. All one has to do is look around the world to realize that those countries that provide the most economic freedom have the least poverty. Free markets and capitalism reduce poverty .
"In 2008, poverty reached 13.2% of the population, its highest level in 11 years, the result of millions losing jobs during the first year of the gravest economic crisis since the 1930s."
- it is inappropriate to answer that by saying - well, they're really not poor at all". Esp as Heritage claims Christian roots. The poverty level, not mentioned that their article or ANY of the "right" wing coverage I have seen of it ...
@HopeForPeaceNow With all the billion we have spent on welfare programs how come our poverty level remains about the same as before they were enacted.
@quizerry "how come our poverty level remains about the sam" Why is the poverty level $22,000? Gee, raising a family of 4 on $23,000 - would feel like poverty, I think.
Also our rate of poverty is spiking.
"In 2008, poverty reached 13.2% of the population, its highest level in 11 years"
We are at 44 million out of 311 million under the poverty level today, so this makes so sense, "our poverty level remains about the same". But, I said that in my comment. You maybe thought I was lying.
@HopeForPeaceNow but if you look at it realistically, raising taxes/redistribution will ultimately fail...like it always does. It's common sense, people will not hire if taxes are raised. They will look to cut and save money. So we can follow your lead down a path to certain doom, or follow Rubio - which in the absolute worst case scenario, people will still have a chance.
@bucasas "raising taxes/redistribution will ultimately fail."
I know that's what the "right" teaches. They like to phrase it that way so you will support low taxes for the elite.
Let me ask you - the elite have removed 13% of our wealth, they remove .12 more every year. We are down to 7%... do you think lowering their taxes is going to stop that?
Do you think they will stop on their own?
They'll get to 95% and just say - oh that's enough?
@bucasas Hopeforpeacenow=completely hopeless. I wasted my time, but he/she is just a drone that will NEVER get it. I've offered to start a fund so we can arrange to have him shipped to the communist dictatorship hellhole of his choice-no bites on that one. This dope is just interested in criticizing the US and voting for a party that will ruin the greatest country in the world. My theory, hopeforpeace is the morbidly obese loudmouth Michael Moore.
"I've offered to start a fund so we can arrange to have him shipped to the communist dictatorship hellhole of his choice-no bites on that one." kittenagogo28
@kittenagogo28 Republicans like you are destroying the country and yourselves for your ignorant and conceited ways. Time to step off that high pedestal of yours. You're no better or worse than the next person.
"raising taxes/redistribution will ultimately fail." bucasas
The "right" attempts today to keep the top income tax rate at 35% (Bush Tax Cut rate). Did anyone notice that, in fact, "Jobcreators" WERE creating jobs IN America when their rate (pre-Bush) was the 39% Dems now fight to get? It's a 4% tax increase on top we are discussing. In fact, the elite have had this cut for 10 years - where are the jobs?
3/4 of jobs created by the top 400 Forbes are overseas.
@bucasas "will ultimately fail...like it always does."
Yes, I know this is what the "right" preaches. In fact, we had MUCH higher tax brackets in the past and vigorous job creation. If tax cuts create jobs - where are the jobs?
When, in the past, have higher top tax rates stopped job creation? Our top Corps have taken our job overseas because they can pay $1 an hour to workers. Not until US workers will work for $1 an hour will those jobs return. A simple fact of Capitalism.
I am serious as a stroke. If you don't like it here, we will be happy to see you go to any number of countries that run the way you and Michael Moore like. Why can't you leave those of us who know what a place of beauty this is the hell alone? Honestly, send me your info and I will take up a collection to get your loser asses shipped off to any place you like (that is inferior to the US, BTW). Don't change us, go where you are welcome. Truly, I will try to get you in your country of choice.
Could either of you losers, and I do mean LOSERS, tell me why people fight to get into this country? Yes, it's imperfect, but it's the best imperfect in the world now isn't it? Explain to me why it is that people aren't beating down the door of say Afghanistan or Cuba or even MEXICO (dare I say?)? Please, you wonder why normal people despise you so much. You want to go elsewhere where things are fair according to your metric, I will be happy to petition their govt on you behalf. Name it.
Explain to me why it is that people aren't beating down the door of say Afghanistan or Cuba or even MEXICO" kitten
Because through the IMF and the World Bank, US financial policy, called neoliberalism, has caused the Southern nations of the world to go into massive debt (Africa pays $25,000 an hour in interest alone) to create infrastructure so Western countries can come and pillage their resources and pay crap wages.
Neoliberalism is pure free markets, has ruined the S. Nations.
You know, I really can't take either of you wasting my time. You will never get it. YOU ARE NOT DENIED OPPORTUNITIES BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE ARE SUCCESSFUL! They don't own wealth. They could lose it or continue to excel and keep it. Either way, they took chances and invested their money and intellect to be successful. You can do the same. What the hell are you two jokers union members? Seriously if you don't like this country why not go to Greece, your system is working so well there.
We're 7% away from the elite owning 100% of America. Maybe you think this is a meritocracy. In reality, more resources on top and less on the bottom simply makes it harder for every one of us everyday.
"Power to make money. Money to protect power" Di Medici
Know who that was? Nah. We just wanna give more tax breaks to people with 4 mile high stacks of hundreds. We're sure they'll share.
Corporations are making record profits & have $2 trillion in cash reserves. And, according to the Office of Management and Budget corporate tax receipts accounted for about 7% of fed revenues in 2010, with large corporations contributing less than 1/6 as much as small businesses & individual taxpayers to the Federal Treasury.” 50 years ago corporate tax receipts were 23 percent of fedl revenue, & individual income tax payments were less than twice those of large corporations’ tax payments
Look Hopeforpeacenow and macofdeath, I take no pleasure in calling you out for how dopey you are, but it's hard not to lament that you vote when you misunderstand SO MUCH. Why do the people that break our laws, the people your ilk want to be able to stay here, fight so hard to get here? Why do you want to change this country?
Change the country? WFT are you talking about? I'm trying to keep the nation the way it has been up until about 10 years ago=relatively free. You idiots want true fascism-corporate owned government. Wanna see death panels? corporations will bring them straight to you.
This is exactly how a country should work. I don't know why a lot of people still thinks about the Robin Hood philosophy, it doesn't make sense, you won't be agree if you break your ass working every single day and when your guard is down comes an asshole telling you "you hace to pay more taxes, because there are too many poors in this country", fuck off that systen never works. Check out Europe, Venezuela and Cuba, it doesn't work and it will never work. Fucking Hypocrits.
""you hace to pay more taxes, because there are too many poors in this country", fuck off that systen never works. " MrTaker
Man, the truth is easy to understand: The bottom 80% of us owned 20% of financial wealth, we now own 7%. Your taxes are not higher because of poor people, they are higher because the Elite have been about removing the wealth of the middle class for 40 years.
The lower tax rates that the "right" screams for are for the Elite who are now 7% away from owning 100% of us.
@DillonDee1 So what? This little obsession you moonbats have with the Koch brothers is just so odd. Who cares who they make donations to? Shall I start spouting off about Soros, GE and Goldmann Sachs? How about the unholy alliance between Dems and public unions where there are actual ethical and legal issues involved, would you like to talk about that? So ridiculous! I guess I can't expect much from people who envy so much what their neighbor makes they think the govt should take it.
"Koch brothers is just so odd. Who cares who they make donations to?"
They are important as they own massive oil interests and buy the influence of the "right" to keep us dependent on oil and to remove all pollution regulation from that industry. Donations are just the payment for the legislation they want. It is the purchase of our government by those who own 93% of our wealth.
They fund the Tea Party to get the mass deregulation and de-taxation they want.
The "right" likes to deflect that "Obama supports GE and Soros". What progressive legislation are they buying? How is the progressive platform kind to Corps and the elite? It isn't. The "right" defends the ability of ALL Corps not to pay taxes, can't lay that platform at Obama's feet.
Unions, while not perfect, defend the rights of workers. The opposite of Corps - they rape workers.
I can see how you would confuse the two, that's how you're trained.
@HopeForPeaceNow I know I am going to regret answering your dumbass and am not sure if you or the other guy I just answered are dumber, but I will give it a go. It is not your right to have a job first of all. Second, you are protected by labor laws in this country and unions have outlived their need. No one is saying taxes are not to be paid. And how are workers being raped? That's a little dramatic? If you could tell me what is going on that is tantamount to sexual assault that would be super.
@kitten I see 4 obvious questions you sidestepped. And that you have to mock, all typical.
Yes, we have no right to jobs - instead, Corps have the right to export our jobs as their CEOs and the elite import their profits (or keep them offshore = $11 trillion). I'm sure you would say we have no right to complain about that, just watch it happen.
Labor laws can be changed. Tell me about liassez faire in the mid 1800's - same as y'all push for today. Bet you havn't the first clue.
kitten: "No one is saying taxes are not to be paid" Really? As the majority of Corps pay ZERO tax, the "right" scream that we have 2nd highest Corp tax rate and it must be lowered.
You really should listen to your own reps and understand what they stand for. You seem not to know.
Workers raped? Less and less pay for workers is the path to profit. Did you miss that in econ class? Let's fix it so you can understand; "The opposite of Corps - they FINANCIALLY rape workers."
@macofdeath How is it bribery? Are you sure you know what that word means? And what do you know about The Constitution? I love how moonbats try to fall back on the document they hate and misunderstand all over the place when they THINK it suits them. What are you even talking about? And when did we get this "class" system you libs keep referring to? How is it unconstitutional now to give political donations? Please regale me with your brilliance on that one.
@kittenagogo28 Wow, really? You now have a Supreme Court Justice who accepts gifts from corporate lobbyists worth thousands and he refuses to recuse himself from case decisions directly affecting those same interests! His wife is part of a conservative lobbing business!.
Boehner was caught handing out CHECKS FROM THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE ON THE SAME DAY THAT THE HOUSE OF REP'S WAS VOTING ON TOBACCO LEGISLATION! TOM DELAY...?!
@DillonDee1 they are people too and stop hatng them because they donate ther money. Corporations aren't people? Then stop taxng them as f they are. Stop double taxation.
Eventually, this man will be our president.
allyRAWR2011 1 month ago
Why tax corporations? Corporations make money for individuals. So, tax the individuals. This includes the rich big wigs at the top, the peons at the bottom, and investors behind the scenes. Do so with a fair, flat tax. Don't punish companies for being successful or individuals for being motivated, skilled, or determined.

President Obama is one of the few trying to keep this gov monstrosity from continuing to crush the working class.
countess1900 7 months ago
Tax rates have been much higher to pay debt in the past. Supply Side Economics was class warfare, Republicans have redistributed wealth like it was prior to the New Deal, they have been engaged in class warfare for last 30 years, and have destroyed the middle class. Revenue is needed to reverse debt and you simply need to tax where the money is.
BTW: Congress is ignoring the Constitution here, the 14th Amendment Sec 4, I guess their oath to protect and defend the Constitution was just words.

DillonDee1 7 months ago
Class warfare is giving hundreds of billions to banks and then gutting social security. Class warfare is dismantling tax payer funded entitlements while insuring the risk of financial creditors. Class warfare is refusing to enforce corporate taxation. Class warfare is dismantling public education. Class warfare is a nation where there are more prisoners than farmers.

Getting term limits and a balanced budget amendment.
quizerry 7 months ago

But it's time we recognize that Barack isn't the most powerful man in DC.
The Koch Brothers are.
I believe they make contributions to every GOP member of Congress (Rubio gets the most) & fly members out in their private parties to expensive parties in Vail & Palm Springs for secret meetings on strategy.
You can bet the tax bill will benefit them & do damage to the middle class.
DillonDee1 7 months ago 3
@cambocan Class warfare is used on the left to get more money to spend on their ideology. Understand we have a spending problem. If you took every penney from the billionaires it would barely cover the $1.5 trillion fiscal budget deficit for 2011. (Never mind the $14 trillion National debt.) Then what would you do next year? Take every penny from the millionaires? That would hold you a couple years but there would be no jobs the economy would come to a stand still. Then what would you do?
quizerry 7 months ago

NONSENSE!
100days2bestseller 7 months ago
@100days2bestseller The road to prosperity is downsizing the size and scope of government. Obama's plan is to get more people dependent on government so he can keep the power. Never mind that all will suffer as government grows larger and economic growth is completely stagnate. Leaving no chance for anyone to prosper.

It's easy to make arguments so long as facts aren't an obstacle. Marco Rubio's comments exemplify the historical revisionism, delusion, and denial of conservatives in this country regarding the long legacy of class struggle in the US. His extraordinarily ignorant comment about Obama sounding like the leader of a 3rd world country (no surprise coming from a rabid anti-Castro exile) exemplifies cheery cohabitation of racism and American exceptionalism in US politics.
rosschiraz411 7 months ago 3
@rosschiraz411FYI Higher tax rates on work, saving, investment, and entrepreneurship will slow economic growth. That is a well proven fact. When economic growth slows who does it hurt the most? The middle class and the poor. Why? Less jobs, lower pay, less opportunity.
quizerry 7 months ago
@quizerry By your logic, we should've never been in this recession to begin with, given the deep tax cuts from Bush which have persisted to this day--he cut taxes and borrowed $.they've created huge deficits, while corporations (and the rich) are hoarding money, not investing. Instead, corps tout greater productivity and greater profits for shareholders. The rich get richer, still no jobs, still lower pay, still not enough opportunity. Tax cuts subsidize their profiteering, the poor suffer.
rosschiraz411 7 months ago
The Bush tax cuts worked fine they did not put us in a recession they got us out of one fast in the early 2000s. The the war and massive government spending started. The housing bubble that burst, big gov spending, bailouts and a bad fed policy got us into this mess not tax cuts. We know for a fact the raising taxes slow short term economic growth and big government intervention slows the economy in long term. What don't you get we have a massive spending problem we can't tax our way out of.
quizerry 7 months ago
@quizerry You cherry pick your responses & don't engage with the points that weaken your argument. Look at Clinton's terms; he left a surplus without gutting social programs. 10 years of Bush tax cuts haven't spurred growth & haven't produced any jobs, & there is a decline in wages. Corps act irresponsibly, get bailed out, & their profits are at record highs. Tax cuts should be for the poor & companies that actually create jobs, not those that move them out of the country or exploit labor.
rosschiraz411 7 months ago 3
@quizerry , Tax rates are at historical lows and business has record profits, this kind of destroys your argument.
Current tax policy encourages outsourcing and profit taking, not job growth. Business needs to earn tax breaks. What Republicans purpose is to tax a bigger group of Americans, the poor for after all they are the scum of America. Republicans have been engaged in Class Warfare since the Depression.

rosschiraz411 7 months ago
@rosschiraz411 They are not insults if they are truth. The President has not come up with one budget sense he has been in office. He has not come up with a debt reduction plan. Those are facts. He has spent more in 2 years the Bush in 8 years. You don't think it is substantial that our massive debt and spending is a problem? If anyone's words have no substance it is President Obama's he has flip flopped on so many issues its hard to keep up even his own base are fed up.
quizerry 7 months ago 2
@quizerry The Prez faces opponents in Congress who have stated from day 1 that they want him out. That's why they approve spending & then play games with the budget. You want to discuss debt & act like it began w/Obama. Bush's fiscal policies were all deficit spending & bumped the debt the most in 2008. The mortgage crisis unfolded in the last months of Bush & got dumped on Obama. Can't solve 8 years of exploding debt in 3, esp. given the recession & double digit unemployment Bush uncorked.
rosschiraz411 7 months ago
@quizerry National debt $11.2TJan. 2009. The debt for the year of 2009 was already inked in by the previous congress and president. When Obama leaves office the next president will be stuck with the budget left by Obama in his first year. You are entitled to debate but you are not entitled to change reality. Some analysts believe Bush and of course his republican cronies added $7T to the overall national debt since bills W. signed are on the books and we are still paying for them.

SUCKERS

It speaks volumes to his character.
kim3969 7 months ago
@kim3969 Thanks so much for your kind words and sharing the clip! I still love his acceptance speech best. :) I wish he could run this time around, but understand why he can't. Wouldn't it be so much fun watching the liberals trip all over themselves when they want to say a Freshman Senator isn't qualified to be president? Oops. I hope he will agree to VP this time around. Can you imagine him debating Biden? Good times! That might provide us with enough comedy to rival 4 years of Joe's gaffes!

America needs to give tax breaks to the elite who own 93% of American financial wealth? As poverty is spiking at 44 million living under $22K a year?
And while, in Jesus name, we give more money to the wealthy, we should stop services for the poor? The "lazy" poor, the "right" calls them.
The elite have had the tax break 10 years, where in God's Name are the jobs?
HopeForPeaceNow 8 months ago
Please go to Heritage foundation new study on the poor in America. Here are some of the stats. The average poor American has more living space then average European middle class. Over 75 % own a car 31% have 2 or more cars. 80% have air conditioning, 43% own their own homes (average 3 BR 1 1/2 Bath). 97% have colored TV, 62% have cable or satelite, 89% have microwaves, over 50% have stereos, 91% have a phone,31% cell phone, 36% have a computer. poor women consume more food and are heavier.
quizerry 7 months ago
@quizerry Thank you for proving my point.
It's a perfect illustration.
HopeForPeaceNow 7 months ago
@quizerry
HopeForPeaceNow 7 months ago
@HopeForPeaceNow I did not do the study. And the stats came from the U.S. Government bureau of the census and agriculture. Compassion is more than talking about the plight of the poor or giving them just enough money to make poverty a bit more comfortable like the government does. All one has to do is look around the world to realize that those countries that provide the most economic freedom have the least poverty. Free markets and capitalism reduce poverty .
quizerry 7 months ago
@quiz
When poverty is spiking -
"In 2008, poverty reached 13.2% of the population, its highest level in 11 years, the result of millions losing jobs during the first year of the gravest economic crisis since the 1930s."
- it is inappropriate to answer that by saying - well, they're really not poor at all". Esp as Heritage claims Christian roots. The poverty level, not mentioned that their article or ANY of the "right" wing coverage I have seen of it ...
.... is $23,000 for a family of 4!
HopeForPeaceNow 7 months ago
@HopeForPeaceNow With all the billion we have spent on welfare programs how come our poverty level remains about the same as before they were enacted.
quizerry 7 months ago
@quizerry "how come our poverty level remains about the sam" Why is the poverty level $22,000? Gee, raising a family of 4 on $23,000 - would feel like poverty, I think.
Also our rate of poverty is spiking.
"In 2008, poverty reached 13.2% of the population, its highest level in 11 years"
We are at 44 million out of 311 million under the poverty level today, so this makes so sense, "our poverty level remains about the same". But, I said that in my comment. You maybe thought I was lying.

The elite have been removing the wealth of the middle class successfully since Reagan's "trickle down".
The bottom 80% of us owned 20% of financial wealth then.
Now we own 7%.
Yet, y'all still love to call that "trickle down".

@HopeForPeaceNow but if you look at it realistically, raising taxes/redistribution will ultimately fail...like it always does. It's common sense, people will not hire if taxes are raised. Let me ask you - the elite have removed 13% of our wealth, they remove .12 more every year. We are down to 7%... do you think lowering their taxes is going to stop that?
Do you think they will stop on their own?

The "right" attempts today to keep the top income tax rate at 35% (Bush Tax Cut rate). Did anyone notice that, in fact, "Jobcreators" WERE creating jobs IN America when their rate (pre-Bush) was the 39% Dems now fight to get? It's a 4% tax increase on top we are discussing. In fact, the elite have had this cut for 10 years - where are the jobs?
3/4 of jobs created by the top 400 Forbes are overseas.
HopeForPeaceNow 8 months ago
@bucasas "will ultimately fail...like it always does."
Yes, I know this is what the "right" preaches. In fact, we had MUCH higher tax brackets in the past and vigorous job creation. If tax cuts create jobs - where are the jobs?
When, in the past, have higher top tax rates stopped job creation? Our top Corps have taken our job overseas because they can pay $1 an hour to workers. Not until US workers will work for $1 an hour will those jobs return. A simple fact of Capitalism.

Over the past 40+ years, the bottom 80% have gone from owning 20% of US financial wealth to 7% of US financial wealth. Poverty spikes now.
Yet, the "right" still calls that trickle down. Is 7 more than 20?
Every year the elite remove .12% more from the middle class.
We are 7% away from the Elite owning 100% of our wealth.
The "right"s answer is remove all regulation from their markets.
HOW will that STOP the trickle UP??
HopeForPeaceNow 8 months ago
" follow your lead down a path to certain doom,"
It blows my mind what they get you to believe!
In reality, removing all rules and supervision from the financial markets that the Elite built, own and run is not "certain doom"?? Really?
So, moving the top tax bracket from 35% to 39% is doom, but leaving the Elite to play with our $ unfettered by rules or supervision is not? Wow.

Nations.

Shall I start spouting off about Soros, GE and Goldmann Sachs? How about the unholy alliance between Dems and public unions where there are actual ethical and legal issues involved, would you like to talk about that? So ridiculous! I guess I can't expect much from people who envy so much what their neighbor makes they think the govt should take it.
kittenagogo28 8 months ago
@kittenagogo28
HopeForPeaceNow 8 months ago
@kittenagogo28
HopeForPeaceNow 8 months ago
@HopeForPeaceNow I know I am going to regret answering your dumbass and am not sure if you or the other guy I just answered are dumber, but I will give it a go. It is not your right to have a job first of all. Second, you are protected by labor laws in this country and unions have outlived their need. No one is saying taxes are not to be paid. And how are workers being raped? That's a little dramatic? If you could tell me what is going on that is tantamount to sexual assault that would be super.
kittenagogo28 8 months ago
@kitten I see 4 obvious questions you sidestepped. And that you have to mock, all typical.
Yes, we have no right to jobs - instead, Corps have the right to export our jobs as their CEOs and the elite import their profits (or keep them offshore = $11 trillion). I'm sure you would say we have no right to complain about that, just watch it happen.
Labor laws can be changed. Tell me about liassez faire in the mid 1800's - same as y'all push for today. Bet you havn't the first clue.
HopeForPeaceNow 8 months ago
kitten: "No one is saying taxes are not to be paid" Really? As the majority of Corps pay ZERO tax, the "right" scream that we have 2nd highest Corp tax rate and it must be lowered.
You really should listen to your own reps and understand what they stand for. You seem not to know.
Workers raped? Less and less pay for workers is the path to profit. Did you miss that in econ class? Let's fix it so you can understand; "The opposite of Corps - they FINANCIALLY rape workers."
No doubt you regret.
