  • I always cry when I listen this piece

  • the best part about it, is he lived until he was in his 80's.... even after everything, losing his family, he friends, his home, he still kept going....... he still kept going.

  • this movie always makes me feel like i have such an easy life. i cant help but cry when i hear him play :'(

  • We hava an idiot here passing comments on Chopin's being an anti-Semite. What an imbecile ! Anyone who composes music like this must be POLISH & JEW.

  • The Music supervisor of this film should have kept a bit of dignity. Chopin, an anti-semite, yet one of the main focuses of this film.

  • @Timeofchords is chopin anti-semite?I read a 500 pages biography of him and I never heard about this detail...how do you know that, felow?

  • Blame the British for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict (:

  • axxxxx ax esta mn chibkam

  • It's very painful to see how Szpilman watches his family being dragged away in the train.

The worst thing about war is not being hurt yourself, it is watching your loved ones die.

  • @aniruddhjammoria This was a great movie...one of my all time faves! I love movies of WWII Europe.

Well put! It is hard to watch your loved ones die. So deep man. Too bad war is man-made.

  • @Scorpiocracy Chimps do it too.

  • @flipindepispot ahaha maybe...but nuclear warfare...well, if chimps were able to do it, then i guess that's it for us, huh?

  • what's the music where he runs away from the apartment?

  • One of my all time favorite movies. Hats off to the makers and the team

  • PAYNIS

  • @Vitality19901

No my boy, this is an occupation; that's what belongs in your pants and underneath your undergarments.

  • @papoj1PVR Really? i hadn't realized thank you sir :)

  • This piece is played by Claudio Arrau not the actual interpreter on the soundtrack...track 1 is too fast and Arrau captures so much more emotion in this piece than the one on the sountrack...listen for youselfes...check it out on amazon.com :)

  • i <3 this movie but it was soo sad omg

  • @szczala17 I like your comment...God bless your nation....

  • i wish this movie was played on tv more .

  • only chopen could create so amazing music... i'm mad at this music...

  • For my generation, I know its strange for a 14 year old to be in love with this movie. But this is truly, by far the greatest and probably will remain my favorite movie of all time. Put Adrian Bodey, Great music, And both a heartwarming and heartbreaking story together. The outcome: A Masterpiece.

  • I can't believe this has 7 dislikes! Amazing song!

Absolutely fantastic film; my all-time favourite all the way. The acting in this is brilliant from EVERY single character - it's so real! I love the scene where Wladyslaw meets Wilm... a can opener! and Jam!!! How sweet! I wish they could have met again. The best film. full stop.

  • i watched this movie when i was about 6 and even though it kinda freaked me out cuz this really happend i still love the music =3

  • sooooo good

  • amazing song,amazing movie..

  • I... don't like this version of the melody. Is like it's bragging to me instead of trying to convey the emotions it should participating in this film.

The melody is absolutely beautiful but...I just don't feel right listening to this version (personal opinion)

  • @iRockYouRock67 ur not alone

  • this is beautiful, so is the movie. Truly an amazing movie. Even now, when i see adrian brody act. I'll say "ooh ohh, look mom. its the pianist!" haha

  • i wonder about negative votes! what is that?!

  • jew

  • nocturne in c beutiful = moon light sonata the best

  • this film is the most impressive movie i've ever seen

  • this is a beautiful song

  • love it the song and the movie

  • Belliissima :)

  • @hakanhero Those that denie the mistakes made in history are doomed to relive them !

God will stand with those that stand with Isreal ! it is writen in the Bible, Show me one nation on earth that still exists that has tried to destroy Isreal past or presant

  • @autoteck1 That's just because you destroy all of your enemies. Show me one nation you say? Iran? Syria? It's good to know that you don't control the entire world just yet. Gives me hope. Damn Zionists.

  • @Timeofchords All i can think about is the millions of people slaughtered, how many were the next Chopin,or held the cure for cancer or other horrible malodies of mankind, What did the world loose becouse of the anti-semite? Judaism is a religion of peace. I hear alot of other religions that claim that , but allmost none seem to be able to stand by the claim

  • @autoteck1 Millions of people were not slaughtered, the Holocaust is extremely exaggerated...How in the hell can you consider Judaism a religion of peace when thousands of people are brutally slaughtered daily by Israeli Militants. Even if the death toll of the Holocaust is accurate how does that give them the right to murder hundreds of Palestinians per day on Palestinian soil. The land of Israel was never theirs, they wrote their own history.

  • @Timeofchords Those that deny the lessons of history are doomed to relive them ! You are a holocost denier,It wasn't just Jews that were exterminated, they did it to any that they felt would cantaminate the "purity if Arien blood" ,Sounds kind of familiar like some things being said today by anothe Antisemetic group ! But the world will stop them before it happens this time . Palistine belonged to the Jews long before it was Palistine, then restored to them after WWII

  • @Timeofchords Thousands Daily???? where is this happeneing,, all we hear about is the attacks by Islamic fundamentalists that happen EVERYWHERE in the world, Killing thousands of INNOCENT Civilians !

  • @autoteck1 Blame the media propaganda for what you don't hear and what you hear. I think you should take a look at the Palestinian Genocide.

  • @Timeofchords Idiot, read the newspapers. 90% disaprove the attacks on Palestina. Next to that you should not compare these 2 events. Not that one is worse or better than the other. But the victims of the Holocaust do not have anything to do with the victims made these days in the world. The Islamic followers are murdering people to you know. Everywhere in this world there is violence.

  • @ledeej It's called propaganda, the funny thing is there shouldn't be any attacks to disapprove or approve in the first place. The Jews give back the land they stole from the Palestinians.

  • @Timeofchords

Stole??? read some history before you talk! the jews were on this land before the word "Palestinians" was invented!

  • @madlenv Invented? Lol...the sad thing is that the Jews have been writing their own history for hundreds of years now. Fact is that Jews never did inhabit those lands, the "modern" Jews somehow related their ancestry to some other racial group of people who inhabited Jerusalem, to have some "basis" on their "studies".

  • Love it!!

  • How inspiring is this song?! I love this film, so cruel that this actually happened, i don't think there is any other film i have ever watched which helps me empathize with a character more. Truly a great film and outstanding orchestral score.

  • It was very sad movie during 2 world war there were 50 milions people killed name of the main character in pianist is Wladyslaw Szpilman Polish Jew who survived Holocaust he was great pianist he played Chopin like it was real Chopin

  • @Bixbyla93 la vita e bella, watch it

  • this is one of the best Polish films have been produced and which are known to rock the world

  • Comment removed

  • This is SAD!

  • chopin, thank you for this amazing piece of music!

  • Hello Slipper,

Have you enjoyed Chopin's piece Nocturne 9 Opus 1? I adore this selection playing but wept the first time I heard the other. So much emotion, do enjoy.

  • @SlipperFish

Chopin was a Pole. Remember this!

  • best movie!!!

  • This has to be THE BEST piano music ever written. I just listened to it the nth time and the effect is still the same, tears running down from my eyes. Brilliant.....

  • Actually, in Poland they write his name as Fryderyk Szopen, which the Polish pronunciation of Frederic Chopin. It's so much easier to feel what Chopin felt when you're Polish because of Polish songs like 1:50-2:00. It's like the spirit of Poland exists in his music... That's why The Nazis took his monument apart and moved it away when they were trying to destroy anything Polish during the IIWW...

His music represents and stands for something...

  • Beautifull music ,:) incorrect : Not Frederic Chopin correct : Fryderyk Chopin:)

  • @miccelowarsaw xexe yeah Greetings from Serbia

  • good movie

  • God bless Poland for giving mankind Chopin.

  • I've lived there...don't romantasise them too much...some of them aren't so nice, just as you'd find in any country.

  • This music is so unappreciated nowadays.. Just Amazing

  • I agree

  • I agree very much. This type of music is truly art.

  • oh...Chopin....

    This is it.

  • Nacistic pigs, die in hell

  • actually i disagree. i think they should live forever in hell so they may parish in an everlasting inferno.

  • "all right" says golden boy. i know taste is totally subjective, but i get the feeling maybe we're not listening to the same performance. this is phenomenal.

  • Amazing.Thnks so much...

  • my favorite movie. i fell in love with this soundtrack, beautiful music and movie.

  • all right

  • best movie ever made,about jew,and WW2.

  • Music in the air, Chopin in our souls. Enjoy the Melancholy. That´s it. Polański has better movies!

  • ALE JAKA PIEKNA MUZYKa!

  • hammer musik !!! BRAVO BRAVOOOO

  • I do agree with most! This song is played very good! I am fasinated by this piece of music! I play the piano(or better yet, I know like 2 or 3 songs, easy songs). But regret dropping the piano. Instruments in general, are great! All parents should put thier kids in instrument lessons!

  • Does anyone know who the pianist is? This is by far one of the best interpretations I have heard of this piece, so very moving.

  • I second this question; would love to know the name of the pianist.

  • His name was Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Polish Pianist who played for the local Radio dureing the Holocaust. His entire family was killed in the internment camps, he was the only survivor.

Have you seen the movie? It was hard to watch but it was beautifully done. This man moved people with his music.

  • The pianist is Janusz Oleiniczak, a Polish pianist. He is the one who recorded the movie's original soundtrack cd. Indeed one of the best interpretations of this piece I've heard too.

  • Yes its a film about the only jew that ecaped from the hostels and his journey amazing filmmm :)

  • The name of hte pianist is Janusz Olejniczak .

  • This piece has captivated my heart.

The pure emotion you can feel in it.

  • this gives me the goose bumps this song every time i listne to it and NAZISM is wrong and should be perrished in the depths of HELL !!!!

  • very wonderful song

  • My passion for the true essence of music has been renewed after watching this film.... Love it!

  • this is so amazing,so pure, quality, this is 1000 times better then present music, you can feel it,love the begining

  • For some reason, this makes me want to cry.

  • this is perfection...i dont know if you could actually comapre him to mozart or bethoven but me in my opinion i think i could compare....a masterpiece indeed

  • Such a beautiful song very tragic what people in modern day's call music.

  • you're so right. I truly don't like the music nowadays. It's too modern for me!

  • Wasn't this a very sad movie?

I like the song very much!!

  • Yes, the movie was incredibly sad. It showed a lot of graphic things of what the Germans did to Jews such as the main character. But it managed to retain some happiness in all the midst of this sadness. One of the best things was that the "pianist" character survived! It is based off of a true story about a guy named Szpilman which is his last name. His first name is hard to spell.

  • A terribly sad movie but it is amazing and something i think everyone should see.

  • Poles can make good films, hehe.

  • Roman Polanski isnt a "Pole", hes a polish jew.

  • Excel·lent

  • where are u roman polansky...make another masterpiece...come on

  • Frederic Chopin one of the oldest musicstar ^^

  • =) He is indeed a star! He totally beats out most of the composers of his time.

  • I love this song! really really goood!! makes me go somewhere else .. the power of music..

  • Yes! I love you for this!

  • Excelente.

  • one day the piano will capture your heart. I hope

  • if any of u have noticed, piano players get laid like not even joking!!! if u play the piano and is really good at it, ur chances just went up big time!!

think of it, random place oh look a random piano i think ill go play a master piece i know. some hot chick is there and u capture her heart!

    ahhhhh i love it!!

  • i know what youre sayin' bro.

  • Nocturne in C# Minor has always been my favorite....

You could imagine walking on an antique building in 1987 with Your wife or girlfriend in the other corner of the isle, winds are blowing transparent maroon curtains and the sunlight is slightly shining over the carpeted floor

  • how to name of music ?

  • Chopin Nocturne in C# Minor

  • Such a beautiful choice for use in this movie. Both so moving and sad.

  • this music is so wonderful and beautiful!!!!! but yet so sad!

  • he was a g wat a grate masterpice

  • Masterpiece!

  • .... i dont have to be polish to understand the sadness in this music (iam german/perisan) and love it

  • What has the nationality to do with the musicial understanding ? Music is universal. What you say is nonsense ! I am German and love this piece.

  • I agree 100%. I am tired of politics, color, ethnicity, race etc getting involved in everything we now days. Every video I watch on youtube...someone has to make a negative comment or something about the person or where he/she is from.....which has nothing to do with the video itself. I just don't understand....and we want everyone to get along. It will NEVER happen with that mentality.

  • I'm from africa so my "spirit" is as from from Poland as it gets. But still Chopins music bring tears to my eyes

  • He was of course also half French. He lived in France for many years and even became a Frenchman.

Chopin is a mix of Slavic inspiration and French clarity.

  • Lol wtf is that? That is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard...

    Amazing track.

  • What?? music is the one thing that we all can relate to. I can express myself in music and how I feel. I wouldn't say a word and if i played then you would understand i am feeling.

  • so sad movie

  • i love this movie

  • this piece was a perfect choice for this movie.

  • I Love this music, made me wanna play again and again

  • i started have some interest in Chopin after this movie.

  • Beautiful Piece of Music. A true classical.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Peace
