  • Neat seeing diesel under wire.

  • @Mutleytech Happens often on the ECML

  • Love the 125 MPH speed!

  • I used to know one of the gate keepers there once very friendly =)

  • So peaceful, I must visit that place one day, thanks for sharing!

  • There is something faintly scary about the combination of manual gates and 125mph trains. I can see this is a seldom used minor road though. Still an odd juxtaposition.

  • what speed can the voyagers do? nice vid btw.

  • @donvit2 Max is 125

  • nice video liked!

  • Great video mate, when was this filmed?

  • @unknownperson95 29/7/08

  • just out of intrest - how do you get there? :P

  • @HitchinTrains Type Thorne In Balne into Google Maps.

  • @novawheels okay thanks

  • @HitchinTrains Tried to put a Google Maps link into here, but it didn't work!! Let us know when you were thinking of going and we might be able to come along!

  • Nice to see knuckle couplers on European freight equipment. Great vid.

  • cool video, it would be cool if I lived near a level crossing because then I could get my camera and record trains.

  • Thanks for this- I have the most terrible fear of level crossings so I've been watching videos of them to try and de-sensitise myself to it.

  • @squishy3000 - Good luck with your phobia mate. ive been doing a similar thing with spiders! lol. God they creep me out! Try it out for real, find a crossing with alarmed gates and see how u get on. All the best!

  • Brilliant vid 5*s! I must say the 225s sound very nice at speed!

  • how far is it from leeds or wakefiled or doncaster or york or shefffiled

  • @luke9620 Not too far from Doncaster really - but you'll need a car! If you want more info, search for Thorpe-In-Balne into Google Maps.

  • nice vids, thanks for the post.

  • 2.05 wow

  • I'm thinking of going there, what speed are they doing when they pass?.

  • @HUMSWHILEPEEING In the region of 100-125mph

  • nice video, i wish i lived near a mainline, i would be out filming all the time, just a quick question what camara are you using to film your HD videos, thanks

  • Thanks for the comments - we use a Canon XH-A1

  • Most interesting to see old school manual crossing gates still in use. I'm pleased to see that NR have provided the crossing keeper with satellite TV to pass the time in his lonely vigil. I suppose he used to live in the cottage, but now he's just got a portakabin.

  • Thanks for your kind comments. Have you seen the Fenwick Level Crossing vid yet?

  • Whee hey! Nice one good location for train spotters like us mate where exactly is Joan Croft level crossing mate. Like the look of the NXEC '225' sets going pass by and the HST set Valenta one in front was good but MTU at the back yukk german poo pc.
