  • Yes the southern states invented rock and roll, however, last time I checked Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams were as white as a snowflake, So, the south put black blues with honkey tonk country and rock and roll was invented....Both Black and White artist contributed as for Europe, Britain etc. they saw, they heard they copied....that simple

  • FACEPALM!!!

  • Que duro que estaba Chris, haha.

  • Bass player reminds me of keith richards. Go chris robinson!!!

  • I, too, am a Stones fan, and it appears to me these guys are heavily influenced by the Stones. We have that heavy, Keith Richards style rhythm guitar, Ronnie

Woods lead guitar licks and the base player even looks like a young Keith Richards which reminds me of a shot of Richards in a top hat in the 1968 production "Rock & Roll Circus". To be sure Robinson does not sound like Jagger but one cannot have it all!

  • @LeChevalierNoir4474 Robinson moves the mic and jumps like a young Jagger. Stones the top influence on them, with a bit of the Faces. No insult; it made the Crowes a badass band!

  • Awesome video! Wish I could have seen them during this time in there career. I always miss their shows.

  • Great video! The band full tilt covers this song on my channel!!!!

  • Been there, lived it :)

  • I don't care what anyone says. Chris Robinson is a great frontman. This band gave me confidence to do what needs to be done: but your soul damn well better be there too.

  • this is how i remember them :) in the 90's... what the hell happened in the '00??? this is one of my all time favorite bands!!!! i was so shocked to see the recent live shows. just doesn't have the same vocal quality anymore.

  • A "maple leaf"? I usually hate using acronyms, but OMG AYKM? I'm laughing so hard, I'm at a loss for what to write. Thanks for making me laugh on a Sunday morning. Back to the video, great song and lineup for the band. I wished they had held up longer and made that same music after those early albums. I guess becoming advocates for cannabis took it's toll. They could've been icons for new Southern Rock.

  • I thought the Black Crowes were an American band What's with the Maple leaf banner in the back ?Are they from Canada?

  • ROOOLLLIINNGGGG STOOOOONNNEEE

  • they look so drugded here.Everybody get stoned.lol

  • Rockandroll nenenenenenenee!!

  • i think its funny how myself and other musicians always get their asses jumped by rednecks for wearing tight clothes and makeup, but their showing to these concerts and listening to our fuckin music!!!! like i see a crowd full of them here unfortunately. it kinda pisses me off. i could be wrong but who else would wave around an american flag?? thats embarrassing

  • @ratpunk96 for your info, this conert is Landgraaf it is South in Netherlands not US.

  • @IVegtamI well excuse me for being a little ahead of myself it looked like an american flag. or maybe someone is a fan of america hahahaha.

  • @IVegtamI who cares

  • @ratpunk96 Tight clothes and make up you say? Come visit MI - I'll watch you do your thing and grin the whole fucking time. Promise :)

  • @ratpunk96 Being a good musician doesn't have anything to do with wearing tight clothes and makeup. I've listened to classic rock, 90s rock, and some new rock all my life and I've never worn makeup. I play drums even. Don't think just because I'm obsessed with Led Zeppelin I love the fact the Robert Plant's dick was hanging out of his pants at every show. If you dress feminine and wear makeup do you really expect to be embraced everywhere you go? Just because you're a musician? Come on.

  • The music rocks, and their clothes are so freaking cool. I have a closet full of that stuff.

  • Black Crowes é demais!!

  • Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles The Faces, The Rolling Stones, (Who Invented Rock N Roll?) Americans invented Cock N Roll!

  • @hughsie100

Say what? Both nations produced kick ass R&R, but its original roots manifested in America, starting with Gospel & Blues & Country.

R&R certainly did change dramatically throughout the years, and even today it's continuing to change (for the worse).

Now, about your silly little American insult - Go get a cup of hot tea, and then go f**k yourself.

  • @chcknsht Love American Rock and Roll but tae say Rock in Roll's rootsmanifested in America is a sorta sacriligious :)))

  • @ulsterthistle

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're not entitled to the facts. Rock & Roll is the evolved byproduct of blues, gospel, and country. Music academicians and historians know this to be true.

  • Uno de mis grupos favoritos

  • AWESOME..AWESOME POST!!!! VINTAGE CROWES!!! Back when they were hard rockin' .....america's next great Rock and roll Band...and before they went all trippy jam bandy......

    thanks..great post

  • The Crowes dressed in black for this cuz they saw Lenny Kravitz all popped out in glam pink and they wanted to come out with the opposite effect....

  • Chris is so damn sexy.

  • that is one amazin' throat. Mr. Robinson thankyou you for keepin the soul in rock n roll

  • Great show, I remember that there was a power faillure during their performance.

  • It is crazy what we can make in music by mixing style, kind(genre) and sound

    It is alive

  • Chris looks like the heroine of some tragic piece of victorian theatre.

Unfortunately, due to the film-making I think, this performance is quite lifeless.

  • Why can't we just say humans created this great music and all celebrate its greatness as its enhanced our lives.

  • i saw these guys on this tour in a little city in Alabama and there wasn'r enough seats sold for the the show so it was canceled until the crows found out and they played anyway how freakin awesome is that and still remains one of the best concerts I have ever seen

  • kereeennnnnnn.......by;mamz69

  • satancomm41,

    Cool stuff.

    Very cool stuff.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • Just another example of an American band that kept rock alive during a time when hip-hop, rap(it up, please) and other so called popular "stuff," that took over MTV in the 90's.

Now, those of you who are pissed because I singled out an "American," band, as Eric would sing:

    "Let it rain.

    Let it rain,

Let your thumbs rain down on me."

    Peace.

    Rock

  • it doesn't matter mate because British bands started Rock'n'roll in the first place. so we are even :D love this band

  • satancomm41,

    With all due respect,

Many great American R&R bands had disappeared and the Black Crowes were a great relief, compared to some of the sounds we were stuck with here.

As for, "British bands started Rock'n'roll," I'd say, the beginnings of Jerry lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley here in the states, in the mid to late 50's, and the beginning of "serious," R& R," in Britain that would make us even, but it was the "Beatle," explosion that made R&R great in both countries.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • rockinroller7

I would definately agree that all of rock'n'rolls forefounders, the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly, American class acts definately deserve a great deal of credit in starting the wave and influencing new bands, but bands like The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles as you mentioned and of course classic Status Quo were definately the big promoters of the music. It then turned into a joint act with loads of acts rockin'

    peace man

  • satancomm41, Thumbs up!

I think you finally got it clear for the both of us.

Besides the difinitive bands you mentioned:The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who, (Led Zepplin,) with Jeff Beck, and anything Clapton, Britain had many more second tier bands, such as those you mentioned:The Kinks and Status Quo,and many more than the U.S..

Meaning, I agree, Britain had a great head start, which the United States picked up on.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • rockinroller7,

definately, and oops about forgetting Led Zepplin, John Bonham best drummer ever. Yeah Clapton, Cream quality, moving onto American bands you still have the immortal Frank Zappa, classic southern rock acts like Lynard Skynard and Black Crowes, and then Britain picked up the flag with rock indie, Stone Roses and The Smiths...

American music, Gods of Hardrock, I love new bands like Priestess and Black Stone Cherry. And of course the Aussies, AC/DC, legends.

    peace man

  • The Brits were influenced by blues, and the American Robert Johnson was the father of blues. 'Nuff said.

  • Yeah but, American blues started the British rock thing.

  • Blues came from the Blacks & Americans came from Europe.

  • Americans invented rock n' roll dude. The British cultivated it.

  • @salynredoran What you mean is AFRIKAN AMERIKKANS CREATED IT.

  • @salynredoran : I believe it's the other way arround dude.

  • @dennisvda1987 um, no its not.

  • @salynredoran Everything's ok then innit?

  • @clean3 for sure

  • @salynredoran Cultivated it in the 70's and 80's then butchered it over the last decade or so. Blur & Oasis fe

  • @salynredoran The Brits invented Rock 'N' Roll, the Americans commercialised it

  • @salynredoran Sadly mistaken dude... It was black sabbath in the sixties... It's called metal because to some people it resembled the sound of a metal factory in burningham england...

  • @BlackDahliaPriest no I think you're sadly mistaken. It was people like Elvis and Little Richard who had profound influences on early British bands like the Beatles. The Stones were directly influenced by American blues artists. Black Sabbath isn't even in the picture yet. And it's no contest anyway. It's a fact. Americans invented rock and roll, and the British cultivated it,meaning made it grow and prosper. It wouldn't be a great art form without interpretations from both sides of the pond

  • @salynredoran Sorry rock n roll I mean.*

  • @salynredoran in your dreams hahahahahahahahaha shame on you

  • @elcacharro I guess you're another of those myriad folk who don't know what their talking about.

  • @salynredoran interesting theory, my friend. I tend to agree, although we may find a number of opponents. Being a Stones fan, I have myself some doubts.

  • @occhioallallocco The roots of R&R are rooted in black churches in the deep south in the U.S.

  • @salynredoran AFRICAN-Americans invented Rock 'n' Roll, thank you. Europeans dropped the "Roll" rhythms and made it "rock".

  • @salynredoran Correction. Southern Americans invented rock n' roll - Confederate States, "Rebel" States.

  • I remember Cornell Univ. 'round this time. They played a show there, we all got stuck in the fuckin' snow. Good fuckin' times!

  • Awesome!!!

  • Long live the Crowes! Everything they put out is great. Thank you for adding this video.

  • The Black Crowes, The Most Rock n'Roll Band of all times!!!

  • Yeah, used to workout at the gym with the first Crowes album featuring this song cranked up to 11 in my Walkman. Fabulous band.....then, and still could be now.

  • Their new album, Warpaint, totally kicks ass.

    You should check it out.

  • They're coming out with a new Album, "Before the Frost..." in a few days, and when you buy that, you get a free download code of another album called "Until the Freeze" can't wait

  • well they didn't call it the "High as The Moon" tour for nothing, lol

  • I was there! After a couple a songs suddenly the power was cut of: no sound and lights...

some 15 minutes later everything was reconnected so to speak and the band resumed the song excactly where it so brutely had stopped! Very cool!!!

  • yeah i remembered when to power went off and the crowd strarted singin alway look at the bright side of life one of the best closing acts at pink pop.

  • OMG Can I just die now and come back as a groupie for these guys? Never gave them much thought until seeing them on youtube ,there's not a bad one in the group, look at all that hair, and moves so HOT they could make me drop to my knee's!!
