This vid shows that he truly is bald. There is some hair on the side but the top is completely hairless. I think it would look cooler if he just let it grow
@JoddTamison He meant digital is more inviting. If you re-listen, you'll notice he said when young people hear vinyl for the first time they are surprised... because it's more real. That's what he was saying.
I'm not posting this for a thumbs up, I really wanna know from all the fans out there, old school or new, What is your favorite SP album? Mine = pisces iscariot.
@Bearattacka I like MCATIS I like it because if you hear 2 sides to the album, there is the nice soft side that makes you say 'Aww, that's sweet :)', then there's the fucking insane, loud, heavy side that scares the shit out of you as it makes you go 'AHHHH!!!!! STOP IT!!!!!'
AT 3:18 the last question she asks, "anything new from the smashing pumpkins?" and the background music (a rather annoyingly happy song) goes dead for a bit and right as billy answers "no, no just workin right now" the music kicks right back in, in a coincidental way. I don't know, it may not mean anything to you but t I find it a sort of funny weird coincidence.
Wow...A very accessible celebrity...that's rare. I really don't care to know any of them myself but if they were this cool who knows. Seems like a real and genuine dude.
he seems annoyed. when you see a musician like billy corgan in public, its cool to say hi and stuff. but god, i can just see in his eyes what hes saying in his head, "yeah im billy corgan, but im a person. not a god." i dont know, people like him dont seem like they like people interviewing them and asking for autographs, photos, yaknow.. all that stuff. that is what you ask them at their gigs. when the fans are supposed to be annoying. not at their favorite record shop.
@jbcooljb Just goes to show you how two people can watch the same thing, and have two totally different takes on it. He doesn't seem even remotely annoyed to me. He comes off pretty gracious and accommodating, a lot more so than I'd have expected.
Just listen to the song "I Know Where You Sleep" by Emilie Autumn (her ex-girlfriend and very talanted musician) and then think again about "....he is so nice guy" :P
@petrovwithv How would that dreadful song change anyone's opinion? It's retarded. And I don't mean that as a slur against the mentally challenged. I mean it literally. Like, the person who wrote it seems in a state of arrested development. It's not like she makes any good points or anything. She just comes off like a bitter ex. She even ends it w/ a typical 12yo girl insult: "Your poetry sucks." haha. "You're So Vain" or "How Do You Sleep?" it is not. Shit, it ain't even "My FoFo."
@MckyMseNTarotCrds if you knew more about the artist and her story you would see some points.Anyway everyone have his own opinion, you may think that the song is dreadful but is her kind of perfomance. She is bi-polar and she use in sarcastic way how people react on that fact.''If you're going to call me crazy,I'm going to make crazy awesome''.But is not about a bitter ex and 12y old acting. She never quoted him as but probably he is the man who abused her and treated her like a whore.
I think this shows that everyone has two sides: True, he's egotistical about his music, but at the same time, at a 'normal' level, he is a personable, nice guy!
He couldn't be more right. The only reason record companies fazed out vinyl is because it is enormously faster an cheaper to record, produce, and manufacture music digitally. If it was based solely on making the artists' music sound its best, all musicians would be recording to 2 inch tape and pressing vinyl.
below, of course, is my opinion based on the facts i know, to know the truth you would have to go and find the answers yourself(through certified media! not internet blog babble!) or ask the pumpkins which is not really a likely hood of that happening
he is not an ass hole, he got labeled a sell out by critics and contemporaries who were too concerned about their image or reputations to see that the pumpkins were trying to expand the alternitive genre out of the 90's grunge scene, which had by the time Cobain committed suicide: become a corperate money train. really to their credit Corgan, iha, watzky and chamberlain were the only band of that era who remained concerned about the music and not their image or rep
I'd be freaking the hell out if I saw Billy in a record store haha. But I agree with most comments, I'd probably just say hi if I saw him, not interview the guy haha.
What Billy talks about @ 1:20 is a VERY important point. In Analog world there is a frequency that is accentuated that (and this word has been turned into the next 'like') "Literally" tickles the inside of your ear. Whereas in DIGI-WORLD that overtone can't function properly. Part of this is why you hear "albums" being mastered at hotter & hotter levels over the past 10 years. Digital remastering isn't the end all, be all.
i like about he talks about "connecting the dots" with records and their influences and using brian eno -through david bowie- as an example, considering thats exactly how i discovered david bowie -through billy corgan ;)
I would be beet red in the face if I randomly walked into bills. My face would hurt from smiling. What a guy. Why aren't there more hunks and generally sweet men like this everywhere? Screw me! Where are all the mysterious charmers? Where have they gone? Sigh---- doomed!
@ScreamoxXxPanda I did that in San Diego after a show, in 2000. I think I surprised him cause he sort of paused for a second before realizing what had happened. Then he returned the hug. (Yay!) I couldn't help myself, I was like 16 and very much in love. lol The hormones were raging.
billy corgan is the man. seems super down to earth and approachable enough to where he doesnt seem all high and mighty. i wish the original line up of sp wud get back together. just atleast for ONE last album. they owe it to themselves and their career together. the fans would love it. i wish the misfits wouldve done it too at some point. oh well. maybe someday.
As far as sound quality goes, vinyl is the best there is. CD's come in second, still pretty good, plus they're portable. MP3's are just horrible. It's like listening to AM radio. Every song sounds like it was mixed in mono sound when listened to on MP3.

He didn't even die. How fucking cool is that shit? Unfortunately he left his money at the Hilton in the Presidential Suite, so the dealer had to rape him.
@austony85 I'm guessing that you are not familar with the English vernacular "geezer". Thank you for suggesting that I am one, I'm flattered. However, please note that in our language (English), "retard" is a verb. You're welcome.
people who are arguing are silly, but seriously, is anyone denying his musicianship? He's a great guitarist, which is undeniable at this stage. And he does know how to write good songs; the proof is there, just listen.

People need to remember that being in a successful band and maintaining a career is a JOB. All the material is written by him and he clearly cares a great deal about it. If he feels that some peope he has worked with didn't quite have the dedication, or didn't have their head screwed on straight - then i say fair play to him.
If anyone wants to make conclusions on a persons character, then listen/watch the words coming out of that persons mouth and NOT what journalists/other people speculate.
who the eff cares about his hairline or etc. The man is a genius and a poet. I would cut my ... well... then again NO- but... I would do anything to meet the dame guy already. Actually if you have an an touched vinyl record the sound is better quality that digital or cds
because for cds and digital releases the sounds is compressed
but the sound from vinyl comes from the physical properties of the disc so they dont have to worry about compressing the file to make it all fit

Billy, you need to stop being an a----hole all of the time and learn by your much more MATURE ex-bandmates how to act.
Upon hearing the recent news that you fired Jimmy in 2009, I'm sorry that Jimmy wasted 20 years of his life playing with you.
