The cross wasn't used as a Christian symbol until the third century AD. Up until then, the symbol was a fish. In any case, Jesus was a Jew, born and died one, thirty years before Pauline Christianity was invented. Why would there be a cross in "his" shroud?

Very interesting that you've found a cross in the shroud. That would tie in with the initial dating of 1200 to 1300 AD since the cross wasn't used by Christians as a symbol until the fourth century and prevous to that it was the sign of a fish. Sounds like the shroud is a fake after all.

That argument has been disputed over and over. Scientists looked into his claim heavily, and found no evidence to support what he said. If you agree with him, you are siding with a mere statement, as opposed to dozens of scientific (religious beliefs aside) accuracies.

When I see even non-believing scientists begin to suspect a good chance of authenticity, something is definitely interesting about the shroud.

Either way, true faith is not affected by the truth of the image.

That is true. However, the shroud still remains one of the most, if not the most, interesting artifact to date. How does anyone explain this cloth? It wasn't painted, it's not burned in, it's not caused by radiation.... how in the world was it made? Not to mention, the image is a negative... no one even knew what a negative was back then!

The turin shroud is a enigma that connot be explained by science. It was only when photography was invented did they discover the face was actually on the shroud. Yu will not find a more amazing object on this earth, it is one of a kind and cannot be replicated or explained

@russellstall - The persecution aspect has been highly overplayed . They were considered to be an illegal cult until Constantine made them legal, and as soon as Christianity became the state religion under Theodosius, they began to persecute other religions. Up to that time Rome was fairly tolerant of other religions and generally added any new religion to all the others, simply absorbing them.

I have seen another video you have on the Turin shroud - well pointed out again, I never realised that was there.
