I hear there is a invitation to discuss these topics, a debate by the imams from both sides. Each side can present their cases very well for and against Mawlid but I would love to see the debate.
If the debate happens I will be there to watch listen and learn

@bachamazar -- you should also definitely check out Shaykh Abu Usamah At-Thahabi's amazing lecture on the "Mawlid" here on the tube... uploaded by: "GreenLaneMosque", it's like 1 hour, but there're some great excerpts to be taken from it.
" The Mawlid (Eid Milad Ul-Nabi) Exposed - Sheikh Abu Usamah At-Thahabi "
♣ The title might turn some people off right away.. but if you just listen, you will see how he - with all love ♥ for the Prophet - in a very logical, systematic way handles the issue.
I also very much benefited from this presentation and what Br. Abu Mussab commented, and particularly what Dr. Abu 'Ammaar Yasir Qadhi had to say on the issue, as well as Ustadh Murtaza... very insightful.
So please think before u judge ppl who have more knoeledge than us.. You may not have seen ustadh murtaza khan's lectures before, so you may not know of how good he is at reminders and knowledge ..so make excuses for ur Muslim bros and sisters before u judge. Wa asalamu alaykum.
No when you speak about the truth there are times when the voice can be loud! Where does it say in the sunnah that it can't be??? mashaAllah All the talkers did a very good job explaining. And the last talker murtaza khan, that clip was taken from another lecture he had done. He didnt start that lecture in that volume but when he spoke about things that are soo far from the truth it can make u passionate in explaining the truth from the false hood!!
The prophet (saw) never spoke louder then he needed too. although i agree that celebrating the birthday of the prophet is a bid'ah only yasir qadhi can be listened too here and gives advice in a benifical way. i realised it is not good to take knowledge from people high in factual knowledge but lacking in charater and simple islamic preaching. Allah said (translation) "Invite to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better."
